Extreme Audio & Performance Reviews (2)

Review: I was given a gift of a new radio for my car purchased from Extreme Audio and Performance of Manchester, CT. The merchant sold the wrong radio even after all the information about my car was given to him. The radio was returned and a credit issued for $287.15. I brought my car back and the radio was removed and sent out. I was not given an estimate for the repair. When the radio was return to have it reinstalled the total bill came to $483.89. I told the merchant I thought the price was high since a new radio was only $287.15. He did not give me a breakdown of what was repaired. I called the [redacted] and they said they could not help me because he is not licensed but they felt he should have given me an estimate and also they thought the price was high. I called the merchant and once again told him I thought I was overcharged. He said the price was correct.Desired Settlement: Because he did not give me an estimate and will not tell me what was done I believe the price he charged me to repair an old radio was very high. When I went to [redacted] to get a price they told me to go to a local merchant and I would save a lot of money. I sent I was way overcharged when a new radio was $287.15. I believe I should not have paid any more than $287.15 for this repair and I would like a credit of $196.74.

Review: On October 11th 2013 I went to Extreme Audio & Performance in Manchester Connecticut to have a remote car starter installed in my 2004 [redacted] Deville. The transaction ammount was $834.85 They showed me how the remote starter worked and did not notify me of any issues. The next day I am driving and notice the panel is lose and falling off under the steering wheel. I try to push it back on and it would not stay securely fastened and would fall off when going over a bump. Upon closer inspection I found that all but one of the clips that hold the panel on where broken. I contacted the business and talked to the owner and he told me it was broken when he took it off and he thought I knew. I explained to him that it was never lose or broken before going to his shop. He then tried to say it was rotten and broke when they took it off. He said he would not pay to replace it but would strap it to the car. I have a nice [redacted] I do not want a strapped panel in it. I asked if it was broken already or broke when he took it off why wouldn't he tell me. He first said he thought I knew then later in the conversation said he should of told me but still is not replacing the panel.I ended up doing some research and found that the only cause of this happening is from removing the panel the wrong way by prying it down instead of out. I filed a claim with my credit card company, I got quotes from 2 dealers and have been trying to get the $310.38 to replace the panel. The credit card company just got back to me yesterday and told me they could not get the merchant to come to an agreement and that he is still insisting that it was already broken.I have checked all the other panels in the [redacted] but no other panels are broken except the one they took off so there is no rotten or brittle plastic in the vehicle anywhere.Desired Settlement: I just want the $310.38 for the cost of the replacement bolster panel.

Response:

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

I called him and talked to him on the phone and he told me directly "I am not replacing the panel I will strap it up but that is it". I do not want a strapped panel I want it replaced and to be held in by it's own pins the way it is supposed to be.

Sincerely,
