Review: Went to this place of business to repair my car. Brought it in and they did a check up on the car, said it was not running right because a coil was bad... They did other work which I was happy about. After getting the car back, decided to take it on a trip to see how it ran, everything went great. The very next day after the trip, the check engine light came on and it was jumping really bad. Called the shop and told him what happened said to bring it in, which was done, ** said he'll let me know the next day what was wrong. Next day comes and ** says its the computer which he says he has to have the **ney up front for ($250) I only had about $170 of it, said it was fine. I do not really know if he replaced the computer because he never gave a receipt for it. Time goes by he says he is having trouble with the computer blowing other fuses to the car. Finally it works I get it home and it was fine for a few days and the check engine light came on again, and again it was really jumpy... ** was called again and I took it back yet again... this time it was the oil sensor pressure switch he said, he said give him an hour and I will have the car back, I receive a call in which ** states that as he was replacing the oil pressure sensor switch it broke and oil leaked everywhere, was told he would throw in a free oil change..Get the car back a day later...everything was ok, until the next day the check engine light was on and again jumpy...long story short we had to take the car back numerous times for the same thing that was never fixed in my opinion. The last time I took it in was because the battery died, ** said that it was the car alarm making the computer and battery short out. Was told it would be another $250,both parties agreed to payments, picked up the car a few days later and the same thing happened again...check engine light and jumping. On top of that it seemed like every time the car was left in his possession, it was gone through, and stuff was stolen..ridiculous! Car is still un-driveable.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the money spent to fix my car. Spent over $1300 to fix the car. Which is still sitting in the driveway, while I have to ride the bus because of this place.

Review: Took in our 06 [redacted] Uplander for a Oil Change. Almost home it was noticed there was oil leaking from the bottom of the car & had sprayed oil all over engine. Called Extreme Auto that we had oil leaking everywhere.Man on the phone told us to drive it back.The car stopped working approx .25 miles from Extreme Auto&had to be pushed there.We live only 2 1/2 mi from this shop. A worker ([redacted]?)put an oil pan under the car as it was still leaking oil &jacked up the car. He was able to tell the filter was not staying in place correctly. The other man ([redacted]) called the Auto store they received the filter from&was arguing with them.He then proceeded to tell us it was our fault for driving the car until it died(we called&told him what had happened and they said to drive it back)&its the Auto parts store for bringing him the wrong filter. He was very irritable&kept raising his voice&shaking his head that hes just the middle man now stuck with this problem.He said the Auto Parts store should help him pay for the engine replacement. The next 2 days I went to speak with him if anything had been resolved.He said he is waiting back to hear from them.He had asked what type of insurance I have&if it would cover this.He also wanted to know how long I had the car&i informed him I bought it used more than 6 months ago&i was still making payments.He stated if the auto parts store dont help him,he can call the dealership I got the car from&tell them they sold me a car with a bad engine.I asked for a receipt that I didnt get previously,he had told me he was out.I asked him to write it down on a piece of paper that he did an oil change for me for $24.He then went to the back&produced a generic receipt.I asked if he was the owner he stated no.I asked for his name, he reluctantly told me [redacted]. I asked to have the owner call me,he stated he was in jail.He told me if im going to get a lawyer then to take my car out of the shop.His argumentative behavior with me is worng.I removed my vehicle Saturday from this shop.Desired Settlement: I would like for Extreme Auto Repair to pay for a replacement engine and the labor associated with installing it. I cannot trust this shop to do this type of repair if they cannot do a simple oil change.

we at extreem auto did an oil change on an 06 chvy 3.5 uplander we hade purchesed the oil filter from orilyes auto parts .we ordered it for a 3.5l 06 uplander but to them ther was no 3.5l they checked and told us no 3.5 engine on this van.but phone at orilyes told me he will send the filter for the van .after 15 miniutes we resieved the filter and it fitted on the van and tightend by hand tight .we put 5 quarts of oil and started the van and had no leeks at all,costemer paid 24.00 dollers and left.after 20mimnuites he called and stated that oil is leaking under the car and smoking.he hade cheked the oil and found that its almost out we told him to tow the van and bring it back to and verry clear told hime dont drive we will take care of it he sed ok,after about 20mi9nuites from that call we see his wife dring it and he is driving behind her in onother car she drove van in shop grounds and van just died out we wher sholked of what we had witnesed ,I asked her wy did you drive it instead of towing it who would do such a thing.she told me its your problem not owrs.I told her to open hood to check what hapend .engine whas frozen you just burnt your own engine driving it.her husbend had a grin on his fase and told me we dont no anything about cars its your problem.we argued a little of what had hapend .then itold theem il call the parts place and see what they say about ther filter and any thing that they can do .after a 20minuites going back and forth he told me I will call my boss and call you back .at that time we pushed van on hoist and lifted it up to see what exactly hapend .we found that the filter is about a quarter inch away from engine it tightens up but pops of a little and oil gushes out.after leaving the van with us I told her the filter is bad and I will try to help her any way I can .but you as a owner took it on your selfs to drive it instead of towing it .she told me from her own mouth I thougt I could make it but it didnte.after 3 houres the boss and disrtrict maneger called me and told me that the filter whas ordered for a [redacted] high landr not an uplander that is the comfusion .but we will not wharenty the engine sory.costemer came in after that and I gave her the bad news .I told her I will help you with getting you the engine for 700.00 but you will have to pay the labr of 500.00.she declined to do that even it whase not our fault for burning the engine.she came and picked up van from shop with aq tow truck.I told her you should of tow the van the first time we all would not be in this mess .after 4 days she had complained to beura of automotive repair .I told them the same thing they told me she is going to court and that whas it .they burnt the engine not us.thank tou

Is I am rejecting this response because: Extreme auto told us to bring the car back after they asked if it was still running. The car died before I got to the shop, it is less than 3 miles from my home. We pushed it into the parking lot. Nyal was trying to get my insurance involved and the auto dealer I bought the car from to make false claims to have them party for the engine replacement. When I started asking for a receipt for services and who the owners of the business were, that's when he told me to take him to court and if they do find him liable he will make pay arrangements and it will take me years to get my money. He never kept in contact with me with the status of what wad going on with the car. Every conversation with this guy he had turned into a argument. He has a very bad attitude. I still don't know who the real owner of the business is. It's continually changing owners names. He told the BAR who investigated and found him liable, to sue him

againe she still trys to put the driving of the car back on us she did not push the car in she drove it right in the parking lot of shop when the engine made a noiose and died .we ddid not tell her to drive the van who in hiss wright mind would tell a costemer to drive the car after wnowing that oil is gushing out .as a 30 year auto tech experianc.I never seen it until this costemer did what I never seen.yes the buero of automotive envestigated the claime but did not find us responsable for the burning of engine just for instaling a wrong filter that did not come of the car but gushed out most of the oil costemer stoped and new not to drive it but did 3 miles as she stated if the engine had burnt from the first time oil came out how in world did she drive it to the shop .I had asked her about her insuranc to cover her loss or the dealer if she hade bought any kind of wharenty from them.not to be fraugilant but thats her wright to have it don by her insuranc company.we tryed to help her .but some peaple take that as a weeknes from us .she and her husbend did not listen to us to tow the van but whant us to replace the engine just because they made ther own choic to drive it.we as a licenced repair shop and 30 years of aoutomotive expernsed shop are not responsable for her loss.thank you verry much god bles.

I am rejecting this response because:Again the car died before I got to the shop. We pushed the car into the lot. This business has very poor practices, bad customer service, bad auto repair guys working there, and extremely bad attitudes. How you still in business after 30 years is being me. Maybe continually switching business owners is how this family continues to stay in business.

Review: I first took my car to Extreme auto repair on 1/1/14. The repair was done with 6 months warranty. My car had to be taken back again approx. 5 months later. Mo the shop operator at the time told me it was the radiator. So he installed a new radiator. My car still iddled bad and I stopped driving it often. On 12/27/14 I took it to Central Valley Nissan in modesto for an inspection. The car was diagnozed with " head gasket leaking and system plugged with stop leak. However I did not use stop leak in my vehicle. I paid over 1500 in repairs at Extreme auto repair.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of what I paid and for the Extreme Auto repair to pay for damages caused by stop leak added to the system. Approx. 1300.

Review: TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A NO START DIAG THEY SAID IT WAS THE BLOCK IT WOULD COST 1780.99 I AGREED 2 MONTHS LATER HE LETS ME KNOW ITS READY FOR 2463.00

Business' Initial Response

1st - Consumers info between us. 3 months prior to doing any repairs, [redacted] called me [redacted] at Extreme auto Repair to get a quote on what's going on with the 01 Ford Taurus that they just purchased from another person that same hour and day. They were driving on freeway and the car started making a rattle or knocking and smoking then it died out they thought it was was the alternator or fan belt. I told them I don't now what happened or what's wrong. They have to bring it to us so we can check it for them and advice them of the repair and that was it.

2nd - On 3/27/13, [redacted]'s dad called em and wanted a quote on an engine for 01 Ford Taurus. He told me that's whats wrong with car. I gave him an estimate for a used engine and labor is $1780.00 not including any other parts as seals, gaskets, that it might need from a $100.00 to $400.00 in parts. He said that's ok I will call you back. About 35 min [redacted] called me and said thats a good deal. How much would it be for a reman engine. I told him starting at about $2790.00+ of course tax and EPA and any parts to complete the job. He told me that he wants the used engine, its cheaper. I will tow the car to you to work on. On the 4th day of April the car comes in on the truck. We double check the car and the engine is knocking bad and sometimes it won't turn over. [redacted] comes in to the shop to sign the paperwork and to give down payment of $1000.00 and get a written copy of estimate. He signed and acknowledged all that was told to him and I gave him the yellow copy estimate of the work order with 80% of parts to be replaced. He asked me if I don't replace some or all the parts to save the money. I told him I can't cover any warranty on engine, he said do it. Put all the parts that it needs and left. This was on 4/16/2013, 2 days after towing car. And also he told me to take my time with this work because he does not have all the money. He asked me if I'm going to charge him storage charge for car sitting here. I told him no and that was it.

3rd - On 5/28/2013, [redacted] came in to pay another $100.00 on bill and left. This alone proves to you that he did not have the money and told me to take over time on work, even though car was ready to go, it was done.

4th - When car was done, we called him on 5/25/2013

5th - He said in his complaint that he did not tell me to install parts needed to finish the job. Why did he sign the work order with all parts on it and it had engine and labor $1780.00+ parts are extra. And also that was the verbal agreement that he talks about.

6th - On the part when he came in and he was not expecting the $366.00 for the parts, that's what a trickster does after you finish the work he denies some of it so he gets a discount for that. But I reminded him of our original discussion that if I don't replace the needed parts you have no warranty on engine. After he knew all the parts are replaced, he asked if I discount the $366.00 would he get a warranty. I said no. Then he said ok, I will take the car with out the warranty. And also to show that he is lying, he signed a general release of liability on engine and car with a smile on his face.

7th - He said that I did not go on a test drive with him. But I did for 35 minutes in town and on the freeway. This man drove car 105 mph flying between cars and revving engine like it was a race car to upshift. I told him why are you driving so crazy like this, your going to burn this engine before you even enjoy it. And then the magic word came out of his mouth. When he bought the car and took it and drove on freeway, he said that he was going 95 mph and he stepped on the gas pedal to upshift the engine revved and that's when all of this happened. I told him does your dad know, he said no. I told him you are going to burn this engine, just like the first one. He started laughing. Then I told him to take me back to shop. He did, we shook hands and he left burning tires taking off. That's my true and honest statement of what happened.

FROM WHAT IVE HEARD IM NOT THE FIRST HES DONE THIS TOO BUT I HOPE IM THE LAST THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE JAILED FINED LOSE OF BUSINESS ALL THAT IM IN AWE OF HOW YOU THINK YOU GOING TO GET AWAY WITH THIS YOUR A CON MAN STRAIGHT UP IVE BEEN READY FOR COURT WHENS THE DATE IM READY!!!!

He, [redacted], states I did not do my job right and did not install all the parts on his car and I did not do a proffessional job and he don't trust us. Wow. I am gong to show you what this trickster is all about. I challenge him to take the engine out of the car completly at a newtrall shop and let them check all my work at his cost. Let him but his money wher his mouth is and let the shop fined anything that I lied about. then he can say and do anything he wants. and allso about taking me to court. I will gladly go to prove to everyone what a lier and trickster you are. cheating me out of 366.00 dollers of parts that I installed and I have all recepts on purchaseing them. now your playing the inecent man that you aren't.

Review: I took the car for a solenoid repair they told it was going cost $350 and at the end they charged me $856 and car was still having the same issues plus they broke another part and they wanted to charge me $450 to fix it when they broke it and brakes were loosened they almost out and the suspension bolts loosen and grease all around the tire. They broke my carthe transmission and the suspension water pump.Desired Settlement: About $2000 my car is still broken

Review: I COMPLETED A CONTRACT FOR THE SALE OF A 2005 AUDI A4 1.8 TURBO. "MOE" HAD THE CAR THERE FOR A REPAIR ON A HEAD GASKET. THE ORIGINAL OWNER SIGNED OVER THE TITLE DUE TO THE COST OF THE REPAIR. MOE OFFERED TO SALE THE CAR TO ME WITH A $1000 DEPOSIT AND MONTHLY PAYMENTS OF $300. I AGREED ON THIS DEAL AND PAID THE DOWN PAYMENT OF $1000 CASH ON 1/17/2014. THE AGREEMENT WAS TO ALLOW HIM TO GET THE CAR REGISTERED TO ME WITH HIM AS THE "LIEN HOLDER" AND HAVE IT DELIVERED TO ME 1/21/2014. THE CAR WAS NOT DELIVERED THAT DAY DUE TO "NOT PASSING SMOG" HE THEN AGREED TO DELIVER IT ON THE FOLLOWING DAY 1/22/2014. ON WEDNESDAY HE DID NOT ANSWER MY CALLS UNTIL THE EVENING STATING THE CAR NEEDED A SENSOR AND THE PART HAD TO BE ORDERED AND WOULD NOT BE TO THE SHOP AND REPAIRED UNTIL FRIDAY 1/24/2014. HE STATED AT THAT TIME HE WAS 150% SURE THE CAR WOULD BE READY AND DELIVERED BY 3PM FRIDAY 1/24/2014. ON FRIDAY HE DID NOT ANSWER ANY CALLS THAT CAME FROM ME SO I CALLED FROM THE GUY THAT REFFERED ME AND HE STATED THE CAR WAS NOT READY AND HE HAD SOMEONE WORKING ON IT I THEN ASKED FOR THE RETURN OF MY DEPOSIT OF $1000. HE STATED HE DID NOT HAVE IT AND TO CONTACT HIM ON SAT 1/25 HE WOULD EITHER BE DONE WITH THE CAR OR RETURN MY MONEY. ON SATURDAY HE DID NOT RETURN ANY OF MY CALLS AND NOW IM AT THE POINT OF TAKING HIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT FOR THE RETURN OF MY DEPOIST AND THE COST OF THR SUIT. Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE A REFUND OF THE $1000 OR TO HAVE THE CAR DELIVERED AS PROMISED. I HAVE A CONTRACT BUT THE MAN WILL NOT RETURN ANY OF MY CALLS.

Review: The shop supervisor lied about the amount he was paying for my vehicle he was purchasing and spoke aggressively toward my elderly mother.

On 12/12 my car was taken to this shop and when it was discovered it was too much to repair the shop supervisor offered to purchase the car for 300. When my mother went to retrieve my belongings from the car Mo the shop supervisor told my mother he was only paying 50 for the car, because it was "really tore up". When my mother explained that wasn't the agreement, he told her "Too bad this is how I make my money." He spoke in a very aggressive manner to her and kept stepping close to her making her feel threatened. It was even to the point my nephew who had gone with her asked him to step back, because he was too close. He than again told my mom he would send a 50.00 check in the mail and told her to get off the property. After saying this he walked back into the shop. He will not answer my calls, when I do get him on the phone he hangs up on me when I identify myself.Desired Settlement: I would like the promised amount of 300 dollars for the car he purchased from me. I feel that he took advantage of my elderly mother by changing the promised amount once my mother and nephew arrived to receive the money.
