Review: I joined Extreme Fitness back in February of 2015. I was dissatisfied with the club and went to cancel my membership when the manager/owner Marcy talked me into putting my account on hold rather than cancel. A couple months later (September) I noticed a charge on my credit card for the membership. I called and asked why I was charged and was told that my account was no longer on hold. I asked why I wasn't notified and they told me they don't notify customers when their accounts aren't on hold anymore and asked if they could reimburse the charge and cancel my account. I was then told that I would have to pay for the current month (September) that was recently charged to my credit card as well as the following two months after my cancellation. I let the know about my dissatisfaction with the club and told them I would not be utilizing their facilities during this period of time, and asked if they could cancel the payments going forward. They told me I could not. I went ahead and cancelled, still dissatisfied with their contract terms. During this time, my credit card got replaced with another one and my final payment (2 months after cancellation) didn't go through. I was left a voicemail by the Manager Marcy letting me know that if I do not pay the last month that my membership would continue and I would have additional delinquent fees on my account. The customer service at this business is [redacted]rible. I have not used the facilities for over 5 months and yet they refuse to waive the monthly fees for me even though I don't use the facility.Desired Settlement: I would like the final month of payment to be waived, and be reimbursed for the last two months of payment following notification of my cancellation.

The following is a truthful account of our experience with the above mentioned consumer.The consumer joined Extreme Fitness 2 on February 23, 2015 and was a regular customer from that date until July 1,2015 when her membership was put on hold for a (2) month period. Her account was not billed for the months of July and August, per her request on the signed freeze form, (copy attached). The freeze form, which the consumer signed and dated 05/29/15, clearly states that the membership dues will resume on the 5th day of the month following the expiration of the “freeze period”. It is not Extreme Fitness policy to notify customers of their membership obligations that is called “personal responsibility”, something this customer seems to lack.If, as her letter to Revdex.com states, she was dissatisfied with the club, why would she have visited the club for (5) months without a single complaint and further decide to “freeze” rather than cancel the membership?In conclusion, the September charge was correct and the obligation for the month of October, 2015 is also correct. I have also enclosed a copy of the consumer’s signed cancellation form dated 9/23/15, which clearly indicated she knew she was responsible for the month October. If she did not like the contract terms, as she stated in her letter, she should not have initialed off and agreed to those terms on the back of her signed membership agreement, (copy attached)I sincerely hope that all of the signed and dated paperwork we have provided will be enough evidence to substantiate the legimate charges to the consumer’s account and her responsibility to those charges.( Marci T[redacted], Office Manager Extreme Fitness 2
