This customer broke his winch cable from improper useWe good willed the repair with no cost to him because we take care of our customersAfter we fixed customers winch for free he got a lawyer and demanded a refund for the ATVWe responded back to his lawyer stating that improper use of an
accessory item does not warrant the refund of an ATV which is functioning as designedWe gave customer a quote for an additional accessory that is not needed but would allow him to limit the operation of the winch, he has since claimed "other dealers" can do it for less money, but he fails to provide a written estimate from the "other dealers" so we can only speculate on what parts they are talking aboutIf customer or his lawyer would forward the estimates from the "other dealers" we can compare them and possibly match or beat the pricing

I am rejecting this response because:First of all I do know how diagnostics work, and I know that you do not charge somebody almost $just to diagnose the problem when I already explained what the problem was I was told by Tom the first time I called that his estimate was between 2-$to repair he never said just to diagnose it and he did tell me that the diagnostic rate wouldn't be put on top of the labor rate since I was giving them the business to repair my JET SKI, it's not a boat They told me my cable snapped and if I kept running it that way my engine would blow I was out one time last year when the problem happened and if the cable snapped on the water than my engine would've blown in those hoursLastly there is an on off switch on the jet ski that you must turn to "on" in order to fire up the jet ski and when you turn it to on it doesn't fire it up, it fires up when you press the START keyIf you leave that on off switch to on it will drain the battery I even turned on my other jet ski that was on the same trailer in front of them and it fired up without a problem and Tom tried telling me that it's a different machine and different battery when in fact it's the same battery and it was sitting there at extreme machines for weeks also, that's when Tom and his mechanic just laughed in my face When I took my jet ski home I charged that same battery and it's working fine now so they indeed did kill my battery and tried to get me to order another oneAnother thing is for a $diagnostic price they should've gone through every nook and cranny of that engine bay in the beginning not in the end after the mechanic realized that he lifted the engine too high and snapped the cable.

I am rejecting this response because: The company is lying regarding the facts. If they believe they have the facts, they haven't spoke with me directly, I only spoke to service techs and salesmen. In speaking with 3 employees, all had a different explanation. One thing they did agree with is the stop was necessary to avoid cable snapping. It was never told to us that this was even an option and yet they still claim it's not necessary. First of all 2 swipes around my driveway before a cable snaps isn't improper use. I was told the machine was fully warranted as I bought the extended warranty and yet they wanted to charge me for a repair that wasn't my fault. They did waive the cost of repair but said it would be first $100.00 for a stop and then changed it to a better more reliable stop at $500.00. Their driver who picked up the broken machine stated the tires were flat because the plow was too heavy for this machine. I wanted a machine for strictly plowing and I was told this machine was the best for what I was looking for and yet it broke the first time I used.

Customer dropped off unit to repair leak. An initial estimate of 3 hours at our labor rate of $110 was provided to customer for us to diagnose unit. After inspection of unit tech found the source of the leak and made a repair quote for parts and labor. According to the manufacture the flat rate...

repair time is 7.7 hours, we only charged the customer 6 hours total. Customer was called and explained that if he wanted the leak repaired it would cost $950 total including parts. Customer had to think about it and called us back a day later giving us the authorization to perform the repairs for $950. We performed the repairs authorized by the customer. While the unit was being repaired the tech noticed other items that needed repair, customer declined additional repairs as noted on the repair order. In response to customers desired settlement we did not leave him with 2 new problems, first the broken cable was due to corrosion which on a 10 year old boat is not uncommon, second the dead battery was not caused by us as you can not leave the "key on" on this boat as it would automatically shut off after a few minutes of non use, third he must not understand how diagnostics work because he was not charged the diagnostic time he was only charged the repair time of 6 hours which he authorized.
