EYA Homes Inc. Reviews (3)

Our EYA townhome at Bethesda Row settled on 5/24/2017. We moved in on 8/28/17. Our Mitsubishi Mini Split system in the loft level stopped working on 4/8/2019, when it was 90 degrees out and the system was still under EYA’s warranty. To make a long story short, Falcon HVAC, EYA’s contracted vendor, sent two different incompetent technicians who each offered a different fix. In the end, freon was added to make the system work again but a brand new HVAC, should have never required freon within two-year installation. In addition, when confronted, Falcon service manager became belligerent and unprofessional, citing it is “normal” for technicians to misdiagnose HVAC problems and that it is synonymous to physicians misdiagnosing patients for medical issues. To make matters worse, EYA and its service team stand behind Falcon and condones the bullying perpetrated by their vendor. When we communicated our clear distrust in Falcon and legitimate fear in Falcon’s possible retaliation, we then requested another vendor to look into the problem. The entire warranty service team from senior warranty service admin Linda Turnbow, to field warranty manager Woody Evans and their VP of construction Lorin Randall, sidestepped the HVAC issue AND promptly disclaimed any responsibilities. They refused our request to have an unbiased vendor to check out the HVAC, despite our repeated complaints of how uncomfortable we are with Falcon. Moreover, EYA purposely dragged out the issues and intentionally cancelled meetings last minute we set up with their VP Lorin Randall, so we would pass the warranty deadline. It is shameful because accountability doesn’t happen at EYA. What they are great at is discriminating customers and misguide them regarding warranty information, depending on how many homes you’ve already purchased from them. EYA is unprofessional, unapologetic and disingenuous in their customer service. By far the worst builder we have ever encountered. Both NV homes and Craftmark have impeccable customer service and EYA has nothing to offer compared to these other top local builders. They left our HVAC system unfixed and three months after freon was added, the same system broke down again. Neither EYA nor their vendor Falcon HVAC can be trusted. I’d give them zero star if I can: the materials used in building their luxury townhomes are cheap and workmanship extremely shoddy. We’ve had much better upgraded appliances and accessories than what EYA offers at jacked up prices. Buyers beware!

Review: EYA Homes is responsible for contracting out concrete repair work for our townhomes concrete that were damaged by de-icing salt. Our HOA management company states EYA HOMEs Inc is the decision making body as to which homes concrete front stoops are to be repaired. Prior to last winter and the use of deicing salt, I had sealed my concrete with sealant to protect it. Even though my front stoop has obvious visible damage from the salt, Eya Homes Inc. is stating they contracted to repair some homes front stoops, but not mine. I have pictures if you want me to load up onto [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], or anywhere - just let me know.

In fact Eya Home did have a concrete guy come and repair some of the holes but , I was told by Eya and the concrete subcontractor that their repair "will not stick" because a more extensive job needs to be done. Even resurfacing wouldn't work to make it look like before the salt damage, according to Eya themselves.

I don't know but this may be an additional racial discrimination thing - to my knowledge EYA doesn't have any Asian staff.Desired Settlement: I want Eya Homes to make my concrete front stoops look like before the salt damage, like they are doing for others in my subdivision.
