I am very sorry the customer is unhappy with
how we handled her requestWhen she first called to say she could not find her
belt, an employee told her we had a belt like the one she describedThat belt
in fact belonged to another customer and was attached to its matching coatWhen
I was
made aware of the problem, I discussed it with the customer and told her
what our procedures were for handling belts to be sure they are returned to
each customerI checked with the coat presser who remembered the coat and was
told the belt had been hung on the hanger inside of the coat according to
procedures
The customer continued to call and see if we
had her belt even though I assured her during our first phone conversation that we did not
have her beltWe have firm procedures on how to handle belts to be sure they
are returned to the customer with their garmentEven though we are diligent to
keep belts with the appropriate garment, we do have one coat belt by the same
manufacturer that was left at our store for over months and I offered that
belt to this customerShe refused that offer
As an option, I suggested she could have a
belt made from the fabric in the hem of the coat, and I offered to share in
that expenseShe refused this option
As far as I can determine, the belt was
returned to the customer with her coatIt is not at our store and was not ever
at our store after her coat was picked up
If the customer purchases a belt to go
with her coat I will be glad to share any reasonable expense for that purchase
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
