Review: I setup a contract with EZ Own, and the 1st vehicle they sold me [redacted] which had issues with the engine and transmission. This was not disclosed at contract signing. After 1 day the engine light came on and the engine started knocking and the vehicle failed to accelerate at a reasonable speed. Therefore, in my opinion it was purposely not disclosed. I was highly dissatisfied, I contacted [redacted] with EZ Own. At the time [redacted] was a sales representative working at the [redacted] location. They allowed me to switch cars and I did. Thinking I wouldn't have another problem with the next vehicle. The next vehicle I received from EZ Own was a [redacted]. Upon, immediate starting of the vehicle I noticed several warning lights were on. I asked the sales rep about this they stated that it would go off when the computer was reset. I had the computer reset and it was still there!! I brought this to the attention of the sales rep they said they are not responsible for normal wear and tear. So they sold me a vehicle which was displaying an error code for a damaged sensor on the right side front wheel. I asked a outside mechanic to look at the vehicle due to vibrations. The mechanic diagonalized the vehicle with having the back motor mounts completely broken, and the front motor mounts were at about 25% remaining of life. I immediately contacted the service dept and made them aware of this, [redacted] (which they do not use their real names) told me I have to wait a week and a half to receive service to my car. I told her I do not feel at all comfortable with this vehicle on the road. They informed me that this issue did not come up during inspection. Which I highly doubt they did a complete inspection. I informed the front desk rep that I do not want to have possession of this vehicle anymore to have someone come pick up the car on Monday, October 6, 2014. She said they will send someone and they never came. Also, on 10/13/2014 I noticed a puddle of dirty water in the trunk under where the spare tire supposed to have been, which there was no spare tire or lining in the trunk. The vehicle has been waiting for pick up since the 6th of October. I received a phone call and email from the company demanding payment or they will have it repossessed. I told them they can do that cause I do not want it. A repo rep contacted me stating if I dont contact them about payment they will turn it off. I stated to him I do not want the vehicle and I bring it them since they cant get it from me. He said I will still be responsible for the balance of 500$ for the down payment. I explained to him I will not be paying that cause the vehicle was severely damaged and they sold me a damaged vehicle. He told me they will garnish my wages of up to 25%. I then stated to him I will disconnect the phone call. Over the next 15 minutes EZ Own called my cell phone 12 times trying to reach me. They use threats of repossession and send a towing truck to extract payments from customers. Lauren, who is anther employee there also tried to use this tactic.Desired Settlement: Withdraw the request of 500$ payment for using a very dangerous vehicle with being sold to customer with already broken front and back motor mount. And a complete refund of all monies paid towards purchase of vehicle. I do have paperwork pertaining to damages and payment receipt

Here are the facts on this customer’s lease vehicle account with EZ OWN, which was repossessed on 10/14 due the customer’s inability to produce a valid Driver’s license. On 9/22/14, the customer entered into a lease-to-own contract on a [redacted] with $700 down. When the customer reported mechanical issues, we had him test drive a Buick [redacted] on 9/30 and we switched him into that vehicle, crediting his downpayment and lease payment for the $700 he had paid. On 10/1 the customer came in to the [redacted] sales office to report a vibration issue and said he wanted to change into a different car because his girlfriend didn’t like the [redacted]. We told him we needed a chance to look at the [redacted] first, and the [redacted] sales team worked with service to schedule an appointment for him the next day. On 10/2 the customer brought his car in for service, we took him to work, we replaced both the front and rear motor mounts, and we delivered the car back to him that day, all at no charge to the customer. On 10/7 the customer’s contract went to the underwriting department for review, and it was discovered that he did not have a valid Driver’s License, only a letter from [redacted] DC DMV dated April 2014. The corporate office called the customer on 10/7 to discuss the bank's need for a valid [redacted] Driver’s license. The customer became irate and hung up. We called him back and invited him to come in to discuss with the company owner. The customer declined, and said he would bring in a valid [redacted] Driver’s license. When the customer failed to produce a valid Driver’s license as promised or make his contracted payment on 10/13, we called and sent him an email asking him to get in touch with us. The customer emailed back that he would be returning the car. He emailed us again at 8:40pm to let us know he was that he was circumventing our GPS locator on the vehicle and that he would be calling to have the vehicle towed from his apartment as being an unauthorized vehicle in a permitted parking space. We repossessed the vehicle the morning of 10/14. At repo it was discovered the customer had tampered with the car causing major damages to the fuse box, engine computer, battery and the rear seat. The customer did not make any payments on his account beyond the $700 down on 9/22. He and is not owed a refund per the signed Refund Policy, attached. The customer signed a promissory note of $1,364.85 (attached) which is collectible by law, and we plan to pursue collection on that note along with the damages done to the vehicle.

I recently purchased a 2007 Trailblazer from this place. I was told it had new tires and they would fix the transmission fluid and fuel issue. We made several calls and left several messages. There was never a call back. I am a cancer patient and this company has totally taken advantage of me. I'm paying over $500 a month in car payments and getting no where. I am sitting at this location and the front desk guy is extremely rude and has an extreme lack of customer service. I would not refer anyone to this place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE. That is the only advice I can give you.

I was in desperate need of a vehicle, ez auto offered me a beat up veicle for 169 by weekly payments and promised they would fix the issues. I had the vehicle a little over a week when my breaks go out, and I hit another vehicle. A week latter they got me into a truck, even a bigger disappointment, and my wrecked [redacted] is still sitting in my front yard. Ive given them all of my money every paycheck for the past month, they even take me to cash my checks. My family is getting harassed and my payments have gone up to 300 by-weekly payments.they have told me that if I return the vehicle they will garnish my checks and will make sure my credit is screwed. Im in desperate need of help, and I pray no one else gets screwed the way most of us in need of a vehicle did.

Just this past week me and my husband where this companies most recent victims. We needed a new vehicle but only had $500 to put down. That is the first lie this companies ad says $500 down but when you get there you find out that they actually want anywhere from 1750-2700 down for vehicles that are old and have over 100,000 K miles on them. Before driving all the way to their Mesa location from North Phoenix we verified that the vehicle we wanted was still available. When we arrived 50 minutes later. There was only four vehicles on the lot. We had to wait an hour while the only guy on duty helped another customer before being told the vehicle we wanted a 2006 dodge magnum had been sold two hours before we got there. They did the good old bait and switch. He then provided us with a list of the vehicles that they had left. Every vehicle we picked was apparently being sold right from under us. Finally after doing research on the Internet we settled for a 2001 Nissan Frontier it had 135,788 miles on it. The down payment alone was a little over $1750 with biweekly payments of $223.33 for 3 years. That amounts to a total of $20,000 plus for a 2001 a vehicle that is almost 15 years old. We were guaranteed all issues would be fixed for free within the first 30 days. So instead of just trusting them with telling us what was wrong we took the vehicle to be checked out. Almost $4500 dollars worth of work would be needed (and I have proof) after taxes would have been needed. Before our seven days were up we decided to return the vehicle and take the $500 loss. I equate it to renting a really really sucky rental car for a week. I do wish there was a way to get my money that I loss to this company back but I will take this as one very expensive lesson learned.

Review: I recently changed my car insurance due to some billing questions, and misunderstandings. I contacted EZ Own Auto to explain the situation, and one of their associates [redacted] helped me by suggesting some other insurances that they accept, but she said on the phone that she wasn't really sure on what other companies they accept. Well I informed her that I was going to look, and I proceeded to go to [redacted]. From there we were signed up with new insurance. I called them, and left a message that I change, and to please give me a call back so I could give them the information they needed. Well on August 15th, Ez Own's Insurance lady named [redacted] called me, and informed me that my insurance was cancelled, and they had shut off my car. I was like wait how can it be cancelled we just paid. She then said that they received a letter from [redacted], and I explained her that we left them, and got new insurance. Well she asked if I knew the company that went with, and I told her that I did not know from the top of my head, and that I will look for the paperwork right now. So I went, and found the policy, and told her that the company was [redacted]. She then proceeded to tell me that they were on their bad list. I was like bad list? I explained her that I called to ask, and I couldn't remember the lady's name who had helped me. From there she went, and grabbed [redacted], who then I remembered she was the one that helped me earlier. She then proceeded to tell me that [redacted] was on their bad list, I asked why, and she replied it was because they didn't approve their rental agreements. I was like okay, from their she told me that it was my responsibility to contact them to find out what insurances they accept. I told her I did, and she said yes but I didn't tell you to go with that one. I explained to her that was the only one that accepted my parents who are in their 70's. She then told me that well maybe you just need to put yourself as the only driver. From there I explained that I don't have the money to change insurances like that, and I only had the money for the car payment. From their she said that well [redacted] you have 7 days to pay for the car. I told her, but I don't get paid for another two weeks. [redacted] began to say well you can someone to help. From their I explained my brother has the same pay period I do. She then said well that's not our problem. I then told her well I'll just turn the car in. Her associate [redacted] came back on the phone, and I explained to her I would just turn the car in. I told them, that if they turn the car on I would drive it over, but [redacted] said no cause the vehicle wasn't properly insured, but I have full coverage with a $500 deductible. [redacted] then said that can come get the car, but it would cost me $300 for towing. I explained to her that I didn't have that. She was then I could possibly knock it down to $150. I felt like I was getting punished. Then finally after all the arguments [redacted] well [redacted] let me give you a number to a company we deal with, and they could possibly find you a cheap insurance. I called but the company wanted a $500 deposit. I already forked over $440 for the one I had. I called them back, but left ended up leaving a voice message cause no one picked up on their end. Telling them to just come pick up the car. Well the car is still sitting out by our curb, and this Thursday August 28th, would be two weeks since I told them to come get the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I honestly I am done with jumping through hoops like a trained animal. I would love to have my money back that I have been paying for the vehicle including the down deposit that I made.

We have asked him to call us back so we can find a solution: [redacted], ###-###-####, or [redacted], ###-###-####.

Review: I returned the car Aug 21, 2015, I was told by [redacted] that I would receive a full refund within 2-3 business days. I an now at day 9 and still no refund. I have reached out to this company multiple times with no resolution. [redacted] the GM provided transaction id's that still show pending, when ask im referred back to my bank. Response:

We processed the full refund of all monies received form this customer to this customer's card on 9/1/15 (see attached receipts). The refund was issued outside of our normal 7-day refund policy, signed by the customer at delivery on Aug 11 (attached), thus taking longer to route through the approval process. We processed this refund as quickly as we could to resolve this issue and get the customer taken care of.
