I will accept the $199.36 part refund, please mail it to my address. On 5/9/16, I got my car serviced at Shirley Shell because my car was running too lean which made me fail an emissions test. After receiving the car, I still had the same fault code. I still have no idea what I paid for. I did not pay to pass an emissions test, that would unethical on the mechanic, I paid to fix my car's issue of running too lean. Please show me the invoice where it says I paid to pass emissions test, you can't.
Regards,
[redacted]

Re: Consumer Complaint ID #[redacted]Dear [redacted],I have received your letter regarding [redacted]’s complaint against our shop regarding his vehicle. Although his complaint statement is true for the most part it lacks further explanation. His vehicle was first brought to my shop as a result...

of VA emission inspection failure which was his main concern. He already knew that he had issues with check engine light being on and informed me that his other shop (he did not specify) has attempted to repair but not resolved. After our initial inspection we informed him that we would need to replace one of the components (mass air flow meter) first and retest. After the repair and replacement, the vehicle passed inspection which is what he paid for ($461.99). Included in the total bill was some minor safety inspection related work not worth discussing here, Vehicle was subsequently brought back twice for continuing check engine light with lean condition faults which after further diagnosis (which was performed at no charge}determined that he has additional repairs needed in which an estimate was given. Additional repairs were declined and no other repairs performed. The only reason I even offered to return partial refund was only good will on our part to maintain good customer relations. All repairs and services were performed with full satisfactory conditions. All parts and labor warranty still applies but [redacted]'s complaint is unreasonable. Additional repairs are needed and if it is not done I have no other recourse other than to deny his request,Sincerely,Steve C

Date: Wed, Sep 28, 2016 at 2:38 PMSubject: Re: [redacted] Rebuttal ([redacted])To: [redacted] <[redacted]@myRevdex.com.org>[redacted],As per our phone conversation and as I have verbally appealed to [redacted], I am willing to refund the cost of the part (MAF) if he feels that the part was not needed.  I am not claiming that the diagnosis is improper but I'm only conceding to meet his demand.  The cost of the part was $188.08 plus tax totaling $199.36Any related labor is absolutely not refundable. If [redacted] requests for any additional reimbursement I will deny any offer on my part and I am willing to settle in small claims court which I am positive to win.Thank YouSteve C
