F & S Marble and Granite Reviews (3)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] Please add your rejection comments below To: F&S Granite and MarbleDuring your visit to the home when you examined the crack you did suggest that potentially the installation of the dishwasher "could" have caused the cracking in the granite however when you suggested that was the case together we examined the matter further and together we found that the dishwasher was able to be moved form its cove simple by using our arms and it was not secured at allThere would be no reason anyone installing the dishwasher would have needed to pry at the graniteWe also together observed the amount of space that the dishwasher had around all sides of the cove making it hard to identify the installation of the dishwasher as the cause.I do not recall any discussion of blue tape causing the cracks and I am confused as to how "blue tape" would have caused the cracksWe discussed your companies protocols for installation which included a form requiring the initials of the customer when the installation is complete indicating the customers satisfaction with the job and what work was actually completedYou also explained the granite came from India and was shipped to New York before arriving ultimately at your shopThe monitoring of your inventory must be tracked/recorded via paperwork, receipts, documents etcThis paperwork would help me rectify the cracks in the granite by giving me the appropriate background on the product (granite countertops) and help determine if the cracks can effectively be repaired or do they need to be replacedI want whoever ultimately handles the repair or replacement of the countertops to have this information as a prevention measure to assure this does not happen again. What makes the documentation of your product so important is the phone conversation you had in my presence with the seller of the home who I purchased the home from when you came to examine the cracksDuring that phone conversation emotions became elevated and the seller accused you of not using the quality of granite you purported to have usedThe seller accused you of using a lesser quality product from China which was not what she agreed to purchase from you.Originally after hearing that conversation I did not necessarily believe that was the case or that this was an issue that was a reflection of your work as a professional more likely a matter beyond our understandingHowever when you outright refused to share any paperwork from the installation or any paperwork on the inventory you installed coupled with your offer to sell me new countertops rather than attempt to rectify the matter at hand which I found to be completely inappropriate given the circumstances it left a cloud of suspicion regarding your credibility and made the decision a necessary one that you would not be doing any work in the home.My request is simple please share any paperwork you have regarding the actual installation that you referred to when you came to examine the cracks and all paperwork on the inventoryIf you would share this information it would assist me in resolving the matter.Thank you for any consideration you give to sharing this information it would only cement that you completed the work you alleged to have completed using the materials you alleged to have used Regards, [redacted]

To Whom it may concern,As you are aware the Granite and install was completed in 12/14 with a 30 day warranty. This particular job at [redacted] was owned by investors that contracted us for this job. We do not supply home owners with invoices that were paid by the other party. You...

purchased the property back in April 2015 which is well over the 30 day warranty and also had a home inspection and nothing was noted. As you are aware I did come to look at the cracks and noticed that someone had installed a dishwasher and used blue painters tape to protect the finished panel on the right  side . The contractor that installed the dishwasher lifted the granite which in my professional opinion cracked the granite.

To: F&S Granite and MarbleDuring your visit to the home when you examined the crack you did suggest that potentially the installation of the dishwasher "could" have caused the cracking in the granite however when you suggested that was the case together we examined the matter further and together we found that the dishwasher was able to be moved form its cove simple by using our arms and it was not secured at all. There would be no reason anyone installing the dishwasher would have needed to pry at the granite. We also together observed the amount of space that the dishwasher had around all sides of the cove making it hard to identify the installation of the dishwasher as the cause.I do not recall any discussion of blue tape causing the cracks and I am confused as to how "blue tape" would have caused the cracks. We discussed your companies protocols for installation which included a form requiring the initials of the customer when the installation is complete indicating the customers satisfaction with the job and what work was actually completed. You also explained the granite came from India and was shipped to New York before arriving ultimately at your shop. The monitoring of your inventory must be tracked/recorded via paperwork, receipts, documents etc... This paperwork would help me rectify the 2 cracks in the granite by giving me the appropriate background on the product (granite countertops) and help determine if the cracks can effectively be repaired or do they need to be replaced. I want whoever ultimately handles the repair or replacement of the countertops to have this information as a prevention measure to assure this does not happen again. What makes the documentation of your product so important is the phone conversation you had in my presence with the seller of the home who I purchased the home from when you came to examine the cracks. During that phone conversation emotions became elevated and the seller accused you of not using the quality of granite you purported to have used. The seller accused you of using a lesser quality product from China which was not what she agreed to purchase from you.Originally after hearing that conversation I did not necessarily believe that was the case or that this was an issue that was a reflection of your work as a professional more likely a matter beyond our understanding. However when you outright refused to share any paperwork from the installation or any paperwork on the inventory you installed coupled with your offer to sell me new countertops rather than attempt to rectify the matter at hand which I found to be completely inappropriate given the circumstances it left a cloud of suspicion regarding your credibility and made the decision a necessary one that you would not be doing any work in the home.My request is simple please share any paperwork you have regarding the actual installation that you referred to when you came to examine the cracks and all paperwork on the inventory. If you would share this information it would assist me in resolving the matter.Thank you for any consideration you give to sharing this information it would only cement that you completed the work you alleged to have completed using the materials you alleged to have used.
