Mr***,
I understand you had a problem with our establishment and I wanted
to reach out directly to shed some light on your complaintsMy hope is that in this process you will understand some of our policies and procedures and will once again want to come back and visitIt sounds like you had two main issues involving a party bus and not being able to use your military ID which I will both address.
First, regarding the party bus: F6ix has no ties to any party bus company nor do we usually take busses to begin with because of capacity and over intoxication issues with the bussesWhat happens in these situations which I assume happened with your group, is that these third party "party bus companies" will guarantee entry to a specific club downtown for a fee to gain your business without consulting the club firstThey promise customers "free entry and no waiting in line" and charge the group taking the bus a fee which in your case sounded like $per personThen, they drop the group off in front of the club and drive off without communicating to the venueThis happens frequently to multiple venues downtown all with the same result: the group is left standing outside with no guaranteed entry and empty promises from the bus company, which they pre-paid forI apologize for the mis-information you were given from that particular bus company, but when your bus arrived on March 22nd, there was no one on the F6ix staff who verified your pre-paid entry to the clubUnfortunately, you will have to contact the bus company to remit the expenses you paid since we have no affiliation with them or what they are selling.
Secondly, I will address the issue with your Military IDFirst and foremost, I appreciate your service to this country and it is individuals like yourself who let us civilians enjoy the liberties and freedoms that you fight for dailyOne of those freedoms, is the right to own and operate private businessesF6ix is a private business with specific policies and procedures in place and one of those policies is that we only accept what is called a "Bona Fide ID" as a form of identificationTo be classified as a Bona Fide ID, the form of identification must list things:Name of Person, Date of Birth, Photo, it should be current, issued by a government agency, and list a physical descriptionUnfortunately, a military ID list all but a physical description and that's why we do not accept them.
Moving forward, I would be more than happy to grant you access to the club with the proper form of ID in hopes that you have a great time and are showed the hospitality in which we pride ourselves with.

Review: On the night of 22MAR14 I arrived to F6ix with a party bus that covered the cover fee to gain access to the establishment and upon arrival we were denied entry and instructed to stand in line for general admission. To make matters worse we were corralled in and out of line, we stood in line for nearly an hour. After verifying that our group indeed paid the required fees to gain entry right away, we were sent to a separate line where we were charged an additional $5.00 per person on top of the $25.00 that was paid in advance person in order to gain entry. When it was time to enter the establishment I presented myself in the required dress code and produced my VALID military identification card to the door man. After the door man thoroughly examined my ID card for several seconds, he denied me entry into the establishment. Lost and confused because I had used my military card to enter plenty of establishments around the world including San Diego, I asked for a valid reason that stated why I could not gain entry into the establishment. I asked to see the supervisor and instructions or a standard operating procedure that said that I could in-fact be denied entry with the use of a valid military ID card. I was then told that it was the policy by one staff member, and then I was told that it was up to the discretion of the doorman. I then again explained that I arrived to the establishment with a group of people on a party bus, and the group was my source of transportation. My complaint arises because I had to take a taxi back to my military installation because at that point I was then stranded. Also if military ID cards are not acceptable, then the moment I presented my ID card to the door man he should have told me right away that he cannot accept this form of identification and at that point I would have went on with my business. Instead I was humiliated, kicked out of the front of the front of line and disregarded. I felt that the service that I am giving to my country means absolutely nothing, if my valid form of military identification is worthless. To make matters worse, this is where the military is installed.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the

1.) $25.00 for the advance payment.

2.) $5.00- that I was additionally charged in order to gain access.

3.) $20.00- for taxi fare back to base.

Mr. [redacted],

I understand you had a problem with our establishment and I wanted to reach out directly to shed some light on your complaints. My hope is that in this process you will understand some of our policies and procedures and will once again want to come back and visit. It sounds like you had two main issues involving a party bus and not being able to use your military ID which I will both address.

First, regarding the party bus: F6ix has no ties to any party bus company nor do we usually take busses to begin with because of capacity and over intoxication issues with the busses. What happens in these situations which I assume happened with your group, is that these third party "party bus companies" will guarantee entry to a specific club downtown for a fee to gain your business without consulting the club first. They promise customers "free entry and no waiting in line" and charge the group taking the bus a fee which in your case sounded like $25 per person. Then, they drop the group off in front of the club and drive off without communicating to the venue. This happens frequently to multiple venues downtown all with the same result: the group is left standing outside with no guaranteed entry and empty promises from the bus company, which they pre-paid for. I apologize for the mis-information you were given from that particular bus company, but when your bus arrived on March 22nd, there was no one on the F6ix staff who verified your pre-paid entry to the club. Unfortunately, you will have to contact the bus company to remit the expenses you paid since we have no affiliation with them or what they are selling.

Secondly, I will address the issue with your Military ID. First and foremost, I appreciate your service to this country and it is individuals like yourself who let us civilians enjoy the liberties and freedoms that you fight for daily. One of those freedoms, is the right to own and operate private businesses. F6ix is a private business with specific policies and procedures in place and one of those policies is that we only accept what is called a "Bona Fide ID" as a form of identification. To be classified as a Bona Fide ID, the form of identification must list 6 things:Name of Person, Date of Birth, Photo, it should be current, issued by a government agency, and list a physical description. Unfortunately, a military ID list all but a physical description and that's why we do not accept them.

Moving forward, I would be more than happy to grant you access to the club with the proper form of ID in hopes that you have a great time and are showed the hospitality in which we pride ourselves with.

Review: If I could describe the most humiliating experience in my life EVER, it wouldn't even come close to the degrating treatment I received here. They confiscated my ID because I had the nerve to lose weight and look slightly different than my ID

picture. Honestly, had I chosen to lie about my age it would have been at an upscale club. Won' waste my time at this rude establishment again. I'd rather spend entirely too much money at another bar downtown that treats their customers decently. Not only were they rude, but they refused to at least help me find a way to start the process to get my driver's license back. Wost consumer experience of my life. Thank goodness I never made it inside. I can only imagine the terrible service inside.Desired Settlement: Return of my drivers license.

Response:

Hello [redacted], I writing in response to the above complaint #. [redacted] ID was confiscated when an unknown female tried to use her ID to enter F6ix nightclub. I spoke with my door host and he believes the person using the ID was the sister of [redacted]. I’ve been in this industry for some time and I know mistakes can be made but after talking with my host he remembers this night and ID very clearly and is 100% positive [redacted] was not the one trying to enter the club. Our ID checkers receive in house training with material provided by SDPD and San Diego Vice plus several other sources of material, We also have San Diego Vice come in and conduct an ID training class as well as other outside parties provide training in this area. All my door staff all have their California Guard Cards and are L.E.A.D. certified by the state of California. Feel free to contact me if you need any more information. [redacted] Nightclub Manager

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Hello,

Thanks you for your response to my complaint. I do apologize

for having to go this route as I do not wish to do anything that would hinder

the reputation of your business; however I was given no choice when my request

for assistance was denied, and I am hoping that this will not happen to anyone again.

When I talked to your security that night I informed him

that I did not bring more documentation with me because I had come with a group

on a party bus and a poourse didn't match my outfit! I asked for him to allow me to pay for a taxi back home and I

would bring the necessary documents to prove my own identity. Denied. I was not

offered a refund, nor an apology, and the security would not even speak to me

or tell me how to rectify the situation. The next day, I called the number

listed on your website so that I could speak directly with management at F6ix.

When I called that number they told me that I had the wrong number, then a call

was immediately returned from that same number. Weird. When I asked for

management information I was told that this information was private information

and they were unable to give it out. I called back and my calls were ignored. I

messaged your [redacted] age and no answer. Again weird.

I completely understand that as an establishment you have to

have regulations to prevent situations where falsification could be an issue,

but I was more than happy to provide the

necessary evidence to prove this was not my case. I was in no way allowed to do

this, not able to speak to management, I was not even refunded the money for my

entrance. I am 27 years old, that was my own identification and I would have

proven it had I been able to at least speak to management.

I hope that this is a training opportunity for your business

because as management you should be available to your customers.

P.S I went to the DMV got my new license picture 150 lbs lighter and would be more than happy to show you the before and after pictures.

Regards,
