[redacted] , in response to complaint # [redacted] , submitted by [redacted] *of [redacted] **.My comments to this complaint are:-price to modify customers(his) MGB cylinder head was discussed(Nov2014) via phone and based on his description of the condition of the head was estimated [redacted] to be as little as $ There was a verifying E-mail at bthat time as well*based on not having seen the head.-His head arrived in my shop in March of in a box and had his contact info.-After inspection, it was determined that to meet required (by me)specification of the finished product, significant additional parts and labor would be neededThis was not communicated to the customer, however since no up front payments had been made, that was not considered to be an issueI can understand that the customer feels otherwise.-Additional work and parts required that was not included in the estimate: valve seats installed, valve springs, spring retainers, additional machining steps to achieve a close(closer than for this product) tolerance combustion chamber volume specified by him after I received the headAlso, cost for contracted valve guide work increased significantly in the interim months.As a matter of record, my business model is based on building quality high end racing and fast road-use components and I do not compromise the end product nor do I negotiate pricingAll pricing is consistent with that shown at [redacted] .He was offered the opportunity for a full refund by returning the part undamagedHe was offered a full refund through a mutually agreeable 3rd partyHe declined both of these offers and had decided to keep the finished productKeep in mind that no upfront $$$ was paid or requested and the customer chose to obtain the additional money so he could pay the full price and receive the head.I offered him the opportunity to pay by personal check so as to avoid CC feesIn no way has there been or will there be any attempt to bypass tax lawHis statement claiming this is and could be considered slanderousBy the way, he made this statement in a public internet forum as well.In summary, he received an excellent product for a fair price which he chose to pay and refused a refund forThis being consistent with similar products sold to numerous other customers.Dave H [redacted] FAB-TEK [redacted]
