metal roof is Rusted rusting and fading I believe the warranty was years from fade and find years or lifetime for the rest and that's whenever I got it

Dear [redacted] :This correspondence is in reference to your letter sent May 24, [redacted] reported this issue back in Our vendor did a site inspection and it was conclusive that the problem with [redacted] s property was salt water corrosionThis can only be avoided by a yearly cleaning which is required by our warrantySee highlighted sectionsHis claim was denied at that time,I have included our letter, the vendor's extensive report, our warranty, photos of [redacted] s residence and his last emailThe photos clearly show that as sand is blown directly at the home, it works like a sandblaster and compromises the areas of the panels that are formed and have crazing at the radius pointsSaltwater is deposited and the moisture is repeatedly deposited onto the panels and thus evaporatesThe salts that penetrate into the galvanized surface begin the galvanic corrosion process, then attack the base steel belowThe photos show failure resulting from their proximity to saltwater,The metal panels show a lack of proper maintenance to remove the sand and organic salts resulting in gross corrosive failure of the panelsTherefore, we denied his request and continue to do so per our warranty’s clear instructions. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at [redacted] .Very truly yours, [redacted] Bonnie LB [redacted] Corporate Warranty Claims RepresentativeFile # ***

Good Afternoon ***, Mr***'s roof only has a year edge rust warranty The perforation warranty which only applies if he has holes caused by natural rusting. The only place that was questionable were areas where the installer had used clear
silicone sealant, which is known to react with steel and not accepted by FabralThe areas that are rusting are clearly from installation scratches and the use of clear silicone This was verified by our Director of Engineering at the time of his complaint I have attached a copy of the denial letter we sent Mr*** would not accept the results of our determination Thank you, Bonnie L *** Corporate Warranty Claims North American Compliance OmniMax International, Inc P: ###-###-#### E: b@omnimax.com www.omnimax.com *** *** ***, Lancaster PA

Good Afternoon Ms. [redacted]
I wanted to make you aware that Mr. [redacted]‘is retired and no longer with thecompany. Your letter took a tour...

through several departments before finallylanding on my desk. Please direct all correspondence to my email addressregarding complaints. it will help to speed up the process. We did contact Mr. [redacted] and Informed him that his claim was sent to ourcompliance department for further review. Since we did not received a copy ofour original invoice from the customer, which is required by our warranty terms,It took some time before we could find the information on Mr. [redacted]s building. He was also informed of this from the beginning. Since we have not been ableto find all of the necessary paperwork, it was decided that we would send hisclaim up to our corporate compliance department for a decision. Once theyhave had a chance to review his claim, I will send him a letter stating ourdecision.Thank you,Bonnie * B[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear [redacted]s warranty exists for exactly this type of situation where there is a product defect caused by a manufacturing issue and the product does not perform as promised. This is an exerpt from the analysis of my first complaint performed by the manufacturer ([redacted]) of the house panels, I quote "The radii of the panels are more susceptible to this (salt) build up due to the natural cracking of the paint system during the forming process". Three months after installation, panel corrosion is prevalent. The supposition that maintenance is the problem is nonsensical. My house is approximately a half mile from the ocean which is outside their constraints at the time of purchase. The suggestion that sand abrasion was an element of the degradation is merely an attempt to avoid taking responsibility for their product. There are no sand marks or abrasions anywhere on the metal. Corrosion is located only on the "break" or radii of the metal's contour. If sand abrasion existed then there would be evidence of such. Futrther undermining the sand abrasion allegation is the fact that the building's south side gets the most severe weather and has the least amount of corrosion. The physical condition of the siding reveasl that a manufacturing defect (corroborated above) from improperly "forming" the contours or applying a non uniform coating or coating before forming.Case in point: 3 years ago I built a 20'x 10'x 10' wood/utility shed on the house's east side. I used the same product as is on the house. Difference being, is that I used a local supplier (Lowes)  for the siding panels. After 3 years there are no corrosion or abrasions on any of the forms or flats. The house panels came from Eastern Oregon. Perhaps we have dual specifications for one product?  All of the objections of [redacted] do not appear to be applicable to the shed's siding.Final point: There are 2 large metal clad buildings adjacent to each other across the street, west of my home. They have been there more than 20 years. Neither exhibit any corrosion such as mine. I have never noticed any corrosion on them. I have never witnessed  them being "cleaned". Water will wash surface salt but when salt reaches the metal, corrosion will prevail, time or cleansing interval does not matter. If [redacted] values the integrity of their product, They should honor their warranty.
Regards,
[redacted]

Dear [redacted]:This correspondence is in reference to your letter sent May 24, 2017. [redacted] reported this issue back in 2012. Our vendor did a site inspection and it was conclusive that the problem with [redacted]s property was salt water corrosion. This can only be avoided by a...

yearly cleaning which is required by our warranty. See highlighted sections. His claim was denied at that time,I have included our letter, the vendor's extensive report, our warranty, photos of [redacted]s residence and his last email. The photos clearly show that as sand is blown directly at the home, it works like a sandblaster and compromises the areas of the panels that are formed and have crazing at the radius points. Saltwater is deposited and the moisture is repeatedly deposited onto the panels and thus evaporates. The salts that penetrate into the galvanized surface begin the galvanic corrosion process, then attack the base steel below. The photos show failure resulting from their proximity to saltwater,The metal panels show a lack of proper maintenance to remove the sand and organic salts resulting in gross corrosive failure of the panels. Therefore, we denied his request and continue to do so per our warranty’s clear instructions. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at [redacted].Very truly yours, [redacted]Bonnie L. I am rejecting this response because:
The claims that Fabral and Bonnie L [redacted] of OmniMax International, Inc. are not true. First according to the original roofer in 2002/3, he used the products supplied by Fabral including their sealant. Next Bonnie L [redacted] has stated that “The only place [rust has occurred] that was questionable were areas where the installer had used clear silicone sealant”  and “The areas that are rusting are clearly from installation scratches and the use of clear silicone.” Our metal roof has penetrating rust beginning all over the roof.  Places include the center of the standing seam panels nowhere near any sealant Seven different professional Metal roofers have inspected and took pictures of our metal roof.  They actually climbed on our roof and looked at the penetrating rust. Over 100 years of experience and None of them have- in their collective opinion- have stated that the penetrating rust is caused by silicon caulk. Finally Please share with me when someone “verified by our Director of Engineering”—If she means the two people who looked at my roof—one of which just stood on a ladder. Please,  Bonnie L [redacted],  reconsider your reply and honor your stated “The 20 perforation warranty” and replace our Fabral standing seam metal roof.  If you want about 20 different pictures of our roof showing the penetrating rust.  I will gladly share them with you. I have only included one of them to show you an example. Thanks [redacted]
