Review: An engagement ring was purchased, late 2012. Said ring has a GIA certification attached to the ring and money was paid in accordance to what was specified on the certificate as the value.

Upon appraisal of the ring in 2014, it was detailed that this ring was not the same as the one shown on the certificate. The ring that was purchased as of a lower grade and quality than what was provided on the certificate. Measurements did not add up, color, cut and carat were all not what was shown on the certificate. Additionally, the diamond should have an inscription from the GIA, and this is missing as well.

The certificate is a reprint and not attached to the ring that was sold to us. The specifications of the ring were falsified as what our certificate showed.

This goes beyond store return policy but ties into falsification and deceit to the consumer.Desired Settlement: A refund of the total funds with a return of the ring to the business. I am not looking to sell back the ring, as they would like us to do - receiving only a fraction of the money paid back, but rather proceed and place this all behind us. We were lied to and do not want what they provided - which was falsified anyway.

Our specialty is custom making engagement rings and sourcing beautiful diamonds like we did with your ring. It is very unfortunate that we have to resolve this issue with you as we really enjoyed working with your then husband. We sell diamonds that are both certified and uncertified. Every sale is always accompanied by a receipt which would include the GIA number if provided. We want nothing more than to resolve any issues and keep every customer 100% satisfied. We have gone to the business already and the receipt proposal has already been discussed. As explained from our part previously, in person, we do not have the receipt. We dealt with [redacted] directly when purchasing the ring and I am aware that he recalls us. I have the credit card statement in which the ring was purchased with the reflection of the date of charge adn total amount BUT AGAIN, do not have the receipt.

This is unacceptable. A large purchase like this should have some sort of record in their system as well. If they are asking the consumer to hold on to a receipt then I would ask the business to keep and maintain their files.

That stated, I am not accepting this response to their poor and deceiving business practices and will take legal action from this point forward unless able to be remedied.
