Unethical and not honoring their word after sale.
Bad customer service with waranty repairs
I saw their boat at the Atlanta Boat show in JAN, 2018. I said I could not buy until my car lease was done. P said they would pay the three payments left on my lease if I bought the boat, I agreed. I put $1000 Down and a week later P asked me if I could put another $500 down, I told him that it was time for a car payment and I didn't want to put a strain on myself because I am a disabled Vet and he said the $500 would close the deal and I would get the car payment money back, and that they wouldn't screw over a customer especially a Veteran. I gave them the $500 and a week later the deal closed. Three weeks went by and they hadn't sent me the check for the car payments, I would call P on a daily basis and he had all kinds of excuses of what was going on. After my lease was up Four months later I got a call from the Tennessee store that sold me the boat asking how I liked my boat and I immediately told them about my money, and was asked how many payments was it and I told them three at $700 apiece. She then said we are going to cut you a check and have it in the mail tomorrow. I received the check but it was for only two payments. I have been dealing with them every since about last $700, and no one wants to talk to me about it. Secondly when I initially ordered the boat I told them that I a two stroke Evinrude 200, which the 200 is standard on the boat model wanted The 2018 model 236 FSP Razor. When I picked the boat up it had a Evinrude 150, but I was told that it was plenty of power and great performance on this boat. I have had the boat a year and can say it needs the 200. I turned the boat in to them Feb 11, 2018 for warranty work and a list was included with all that was wrong including the engine and my money. I have had to call them at least twice a week just to hear them tell me nothing except we don't know when he will get to it. It is now Mar 26 2019, almost two months later and I have made two boat payments on a boat that is sitting at their shop. All I get from them is I will have someone call you today for a week and no one ever calls.

Desired Outcome

Pay me my $700 owed, make things right with my boat including the Evinrude 200 which it is suppose to have on it or give me new boat or buy my boat back so I can go somewhere else to get me a boat. Stand by your word.

Factory Direct Marine's original contact with this customer occurred in early 2018. At that time, he intended to factory order a vessel and, concurrent with the delivery of the factory ordered vessel, he would receive a check for 3 lease payments. However, subsequent to the original contact, our customer switched to a different boat of a different build, with a different engine (150 instead of 200), and completely different terms of sale. Under the terms of the new boat sale, we tendered the agreed upon 2 lease payments to the customer, which we received and deposited more than a year ago. There are no additional monies due our customer.

Until lately, the boat was in the possession of the manufacturer for warranty work. As I understand matters, our customer picked the vessel up from the manufacturer's facility last week.

I am appalled that the company would not honor what was promised and misrepresented what they promised me. The agreement that they have submitted does not show the agreement we had with the three payments. What it does show is the extra $500 down that they asked me to put on the boat to close the deal and I said can't because I am about to make one of the three payments now since you haven't closed the deal and was told that I would get that payment back as soon as the deal closed. I told Paul at that time that I wasn't sure if I wanted to go forward and he promised me I would get all of my money. If what they were saying is true and we had a new agreement then there would have been no reason for them to call me and ask how many payments I was owed a year ago. I see now that this company is very dishonest. I got screwed out of an extra $500 and $700. Also yes I picked my boat up because they had it for roughly three months, I was about to make my third payment on a boat that was in the shop. They lost my straps, filled my electrical conduits with spray foam and would not install my trolling motor plug like they were suppose to when I purchased the boat. I have been calling and chasing this company for a year trying to get them to honor their word, but apparently this is not a company that has any honor. I have included a picture of the trolling motor power kit that they initially gave me after I drove three hours to pick up the boat even though I was never told it wasn't installed until I got there, also the original contract that I was told would still be honored.

My wife and I were purchasing a boat from the manager, ***. He told us the boat was located in Charlotte NC. We were to go to the Charlotte dealership on Sept 2 to take our trade, sign papers, and pick up our boat. When we got there it was chaotic. When we got there we first found out we were not approved but we were told before going we were, all we had to do was sign papers. The dealership in Charlotte knew nothing of the financing, as *** was supposedly getting us financed from their Tennessee location, the paperwork was to be downloaded to the Charlotte office and we would be done. *** from the Charlotte office called the bank and that is when we found out the deal was not approved. We drove three hours there pulling a boat and spent $140 in gas for no reason. My wife called *** while we were there and he kept saying we were financed, that the other *** was still working on it. This all should have been handled prior to him telling us to go to Charlotte, not when we got there. My wife told *** we wanted our refund. He told me we would get it back the following week. My wife called him Wednesday, Sept 13 and he then told her it would be overnighted and that he would call her with a tracking number on Sept 14. Today is Sept 15, not only have we not heard from him, but now he will not accept her call. He told her the $500 deposit and and $140 for gas would be sent overnight to us. The whole situation was very embarrassing for myself and my wife. Not only did we waste the gas going, but we wasted our whole day at the dealership for nothing.

Desired Outcome

I would like for my refund of $500 and the promise of reimbursement of gas for $140.

talking to the finance manager in Charlotte, NC and we received our refund this week. You can close this complaint, but I do
