Gino [redacted] brought his vehicle to our auto repair facility to have his 2006 Subaru checked out for noise and exhaust smell.Upon inspection of the vehicles exhaust system we found the catalytic converterinternally damaged and creating a rattling sound.  After the discovery of a...

faulty catalytic converter we called the  Subaru dealership to see if there was still a possible warranty for replacement. Our intentions are always to look outfor our customers and check for warranty or recalls.  Unfortunately Ginos  vehicle did not qualify for warranty.   We replaced the catalytic converter with a direct fit after  market to reduce the cost of an original replacement.  Gino has been notified several times via email and phone call messaging to discuss this matter and he has been reluctant to speak with us or bring his car back to review the other concerns he has. We will accommodate him as best as we can with his other vehicle issues if brings his car to us.There are many times when vehicles have multiple issues and or noises and may require  further troubleshooting. It is  common to have noise on top of noise which can make an initial repair appear unimpactful.  We hope that Gino accepts our invitation to bring his car to us and we will do our best to resolve this matter. Sincerely,  Aviv [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Actually, I was standing right there when your father had the office woman call the dealer.  The ONLY reason he had her call them was to get a price on a new converter, so he could tell me how much money he was saving me vs bringing it to the dealer.  They did not ask about the warranty status of my car.I fully explained the receptionist why I was there.  None of that information was passed to the mechanic (no mechanic ever talked to me).when she called in the back to get my car looked at, all she said was "exhaust check"  which was not why I was there, nor did I think that was the problem.After returning home from the shop, I googled subaru catalytic converter issues, to find that I did not have ONE symptom or problem that would indicate a converter issue.  Surely it would be a mechanical improbability for the part to fail without having ONE symptom that matches.Is it really shocking that I have no desire to bring my car back to a shop that blatantly ripped me off for $1000?  Even if you fixed my current issues (which i've been lead to believe by more than one person it is most likely a clamp or bad gasket.  So, no matter if you took care of the issue, I've still lost $1000 no reason.Frankly, if I had the old converter (which I wasn't offered, probably because its worth money as scrap) I would have had it inspected by a 3rd party and I'd be suing you.
