Review: F[redacted] Plumbing installed a $6,000.00 new boiler in November, 2013 and I signed a service agreement for what I thought was $16.59. I paid for it with an automatic payment out of my bank account. I thought it only lasted for a year, but for the past 20 months I have been paying them $16.59 a month total $331.00. I never received a phone call from them to remind me to make an appointment for the boiler to be serviced. Nor did they ever send me a REMINDER NOTICE to have my boiler checked. When I spoke to F[redacted] representive today, who would not give me his name, he said that they do not send out reminders. When I pushed him to ask him why I was never sent a reminder, he said that someone had called me .....no one ever called me EVER. I am making this complaint because if I had not noticed that F[redacted] was still withdrawing $16.59 from my bank account for a service agreement that would have continued indefinitely and cost me thousands of dollars. The F[redacted] representative will not refund my $331.00 that I have been paying them since December 2013. He actually said to me that they changed their service agreement sometime in 2014, but did not say what the change consisted of....F[redacted] Plumbing must be charging other customers, who sign their Service Agreement thousands of dollars, for a service they do not provide, and will continue to take money out of people's bank accounts indefinitely. I call this fraud. I don't know what F[redacted] Plumbing calls it. Maybe they call it financial exploitation of unwary customers.Desired Settlement: I have never received any service from F[redacted] Plumbing in Pittsburgh for the $331.00 that I have paid them since December 2013. I think they have mislead me with their supposed Service Agreement. Pretending to offer a service, when no service was ever intended. I have actually been calling them for the past week and a half, leaving messages with the receptionist Danielle (who was also evasive and uncooperative on the phone with me). Telling me someone would call me back.. when no one called me back for a week and a half. And when I called him back today, he refused to give me his name, would not introduce himself. And was rude, argumentative, and intimidating.

On 10/23/2014 Mrs. [redacted] called us for a leak at her boiler which we installed in2013, we fixed leak and she signed off as being happy. On this same visit she renewedher customer care on our monthly program see attached customer care contract signedand dated form along with her voided check signed and dated. She also purchasedother work from us on that same date which we performed on 10/28/2014 and whichshe received her discounts. Mrs. [redacted] has used her customer care benefits andwould now like to cancel she is cancelled; however she is not due a refund.~You~Ernie F[redacted] Plumbing Heating Cooling

Response:

THIS STATEMENT by F[redacted] is NOT TRUE. When they INITIALLY installed the boiler....one of the attachments to the cold water pipe started leaking at the attachment site. They eventually came to fix it because the initial installation was faulty, not for anything that I did. The part that was leaking was an integral part of the installation of the $6,000.00 boiler that was installed in October 2013. At that time I signed the Customer Service Agreement, because I was under the assumption that that Customer Agreement would at some point within the year not be continued. F[redacted] NEVER INFORMED me after I hadsigned the Customer Service agreement that it would continue INDEFINITELY. WITH THEM WITHDRAWING $16.59 from my checking account at PNC INDEFINITELY......I NEVER SIGNED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGREEMENT IN 2014. If I had continued to pay them monthly for the customer service agreement over a period of five years....without them EVER SENDING ME A REMINDER NOTICE THAT MY BOILER OR HOT WATER HEATER NEEDED SERVICING....THEN I WOULD END UP PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.....FOR THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE....WHICH THEY NEVER INTENDED TO RENDER ANY SERVICES. THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE AGREEMENT IS A COMPLETE HOAX AND A RIP OFF. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Jane [redacted]

Review: on 3/28/15, we contacted Fagnelli plumbing due to clogged sewer drain. We initially asked the customer service rep to ensure the technician brought a sewer camera. When the technician arrived, we asked if he had the camera and he indicated they don't carry it at all times since they have a limited number and it's an expensive piece of equipment. However, he stated he would see what he could do and come back at a later date if necessary. After diagnostics, the technician indicated there were 2 options. 1st, we could have the drain snaked for $125 or he could try to snake the line but felt he would need to come back to following Monday with the camera since he didn't bring it. The cost for the snake and camera together was $245. We agreed to the combo at $245 plus the $100 service fee for a total of $345. Then, we contacted our insurance company and discovered the repair costs would be covered in full. Therefore, we contacted Fagnelli plumbing and cancelled the camera service. So, since we did not require the camera service we contacted Fagnelli on multilple occasions for a refund and were told they would not be issuing one. We have given them multiple opportunities to resolve the situation and they refuse to do so. They offered to camera the line but it's no longer needed. The invoice number is [redacted]Desired Settlement: We wish to receive a refund in the amount of $120 based on the prices quoted by the technician since he only snaked the drain and we didn't need the camera service. I don't feel this is an unreasonable request and we're only asking for the amount we paid for services that were no longer needed.

I called Fagnelli Plumbing over a weekend when my water in the bathroom would not shut off. The plumber was able to shut the water off at the faucet; however, did not have the part to correct this issue. The plumber said I would either need a new cartridge - Price $602.00 (plus the $120 service call) or there was additional problems with the pluming in the wall, which required a hole cut into my closet for him to add shut off valves plus the cost of an access panel, plus resolution of the issue-- Price $2000.00+. I told him they are way overpriced and preying on unsuspecting people. I refused the service, went to LOWE's the next day, bought a $39.00 cartridge and called a friend to help me install it - all within 1 hour.
