Very poor original sump pump installation (cause flood twice) and very poor customer response to problems.
1. Original installation in March 2018 was poor. Drain sewer and lines were terminated and pump installed-no electrical temporary to the pump, no way for water to be removed, no note left. Basement flooded just the second day after installation.
2.Would not return calls for emergency help afterwards.
3.Installed pump poorly. It is float, and did not work in Nov 12 2018. With the poor sewer termination, the basement flooded again in Nov 12. But they did not answer emergency calls or emails again. I had to pay other plumber to fix the sump.
4. Very poor workmanship and poor customer response to problems. They have not been helpful.

Desired Outcome

I am not satisfied with the installation and would ask for the full amount refund.

1. Initial quote for work done did not include a electrical receptacle for sump pump as we are a plumbing company and not electricians. (quote can be provided)
2. Installation of sump pump and termination of floor drains as per Windsor ON inspector standards and like any other sump pump we have installed. Passed all permit inspections except for final because electrical receptacle was needed.
3. Customer was informed that at time of installation there was still no electrical receptacle in place and that a receptacle was needed to run sump pump and was not our responsibility.
4. 1st flood that occurred we responded to and was due to still no electrical receptacle being installed thus pump not functioning. On this occasion supplied them with extension cord and did not charge the customer for service.
5. Once the customer finally had the electrical receptacle installed we booked final inspection and all passed with plumbing inspector.
6. Due to initial flood damage even though it was not due to failure of pump or installation deficiencies customer was offered a substantial discount on bill to show customer appreciation.
7. 2nd flood that occurred customer called for service during after hours and was informed that because it was out of regular operating hours that there would be an additional charge for the call and it would be evaluated again during regular hours to see if it should be covered under warranty. Customer refused to pay and declined service and that is the last contact we have on record.
8. If the issue that occurred on the 2nd flood was an issue with the float that may be an equipment issue not issue with installation. Unfortunately we were not able to establish due to customer declining service.
9. From our standpoint we worked with this customer on many fronts in addition to already providing financial relief on multiple occasions. By doing so it has shown that we have taken responsibility for issues that were not our responsibility in the first place.

We do not accept their response. They are supposedly professional contractors who deal with this type of work, the process and the government rebates on a daily basis. We as customers trust contractors to guide us through the process. THIS COMPANY DID NOT CARE ABOUT US OR OUR PROBLEMS - THEY WERE ONLY INTERESTED I MAKING MONEY!!!

1. The original salesman (who subsequently left) - said that the electrical would be done by Fahrhall or arranged by Fahrhall as part of the project. He did not put that into the quote and it was missed by us. In fact we did not even know the salesperson had left the company until after our problems began and we tried to get a hold of him. the office called and scheduled the project without revealing or going over the quote before the installation began.

2. The reason the job was contracted to them was because of flooding in the fall. Water back-up and ground water.

3. The pump was installed and they left the site and did not inform anyone that the pump was not electrically connected (even with an extension cord!) No one was home, no note was left. We found out there was a problem at about 6:30 pm when we got home.

4. The responding technician who came out for the initial flooding due to no electrical to the pump stated it was not their best installation (I believe he said it was a sloppy job). Additionally he said that they should have powered up the pump with an extension cord before leaving. In light of the reason the job was being done - not powering up a new sump in a flood prone basement was irresponsible of this contractor.

5. Repeated calls from March until August were not answered. There was always a reason why no one was available for us to talk with.

6. Now with the delay in getting them to respond and coming to an agreement we are at risk of loosing the government subsidy for this project.

I consider this company a very poor company for customer service!

This company has still not answered the rebuttal. ***. They did not provide me with information about the electrical connection. They left the site without informing me in any way and then say they did everything they could.

I agree they did everything they could to avoid answering the complaint and providing good service.

This company says anything to get the work and then provides poor service. I will not recommend them for any work. I do not accept their answer. They don't even have enough courtesy to admit their errors and apologize.

At this point in time Fahrhall has nothing else to add to this issue. We believe that we have more than reached a suitable solution for our customer amounting to $1,200 in discounts and services to date. We regret to hear that *** is still not satisfied with our resolutions thus far. As a company we have done our due diligence to ensure our workmanship, quality of services and our products. The list of accusations are very unreasonable as we always addressed each of their concerns in a very timely manner whereas at times we wouldn't hear back from them for days or weeks. This matter has turned into a hearsay issue with misunderstanding and miscommunication in part of our customer. Fahrhall stands behind it's employees and products/services and we hope that with logic and reason this issue can be settled as nothing else further can be done from our part.
