Fain Auto Sales Reviews (2)

Review: On Saturday, August 29, 2015, I went to the above business looking for a used vehicle that was in good condition to purchase for my grandson. I was looking for a vehicle that had low miles and would be road worthy. There was a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT located at the dealership. Other than a few minor cosmetic blemishes on the exterior and a crack in the dashboard, the vehicle appeared to meet all of the criteria that I had in mind when considering the purchase. I applied for financing and was told that I would receive a response on Monday, August 31, 2015. On August 31, 2015, I received notification that I was approved for financing on the 2005 Dodge Neon SXT, I proceeded to the dealership to complete the necessary paperwork for purchase attached as exhibits are the following items 1) the Bill of Sale; 2) the Buyer's Guide stating that there is a Limited Warranty administered through Warranty Solutions 3) the Odometer Disclosure Statement; 4) the Due Bill stating that nothing was owed; 5) the Power of Attorney to title the vehicle in my name and 6) the Agreement for me to carry insurance on the vehicle. I purchased the Preowned 3 Star extended warranty administered through Warranty Solutions (copy attached) Prior to driving the vehicle home on August 31, 2015, I did notice that the driver's side front tire appeared to be low on air so I stopped and filled the tire with air. The vehicle has been parked in my driveway at my residence and has only been driven occasionally. On Monday, September 14, 2015, I noticed that the vehicle appeared to be sitting lower on the front driver's side. I made arrangements for my wife and grandson to take the vehicle to [redacted] on Governor's Avenue in Dover on Friday, September 18, 2015, to have the tire checked. Upon my arrival at [redacted], the vehicle was placed on a lift, and I was informed that the tire rim was cracked and the belt in the tire was broken. The mechanic at [redacted] informed my wife and I that we were extremely lucky that the tire had not blown out while our grandson was driving the vehicle because if it had, the results could have resulted in a major accident with possible fatalities. I went home and pulled my copy of the extended warranty to see if the rim and tire would be covered but the language was so vague and I was not sure. I contacted the dealer and was told that the issue was between me and the warranty company and I would need to contact Warranty Solutions to find out. Warranty Solutions informed me that the warranty does not cover the tire or the rim because it was a preexisting vehicle defect and the warranty only covers the engine and any mechanical failures. Wanting to make sure that there was nothing mechanically wrong with the vehicle, my wife took the vehicle to [redacted] on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 for a 40-Point Safety Check (copy attached) and was told that the upper and lower engine mounts are broken, the lower control arm bushings are bad and there is a fluid leak in the engine compartment but they cannot locate the source of the leak without steam cleaning the engine. Once again I proceeded to contact the warranty company and was told that the above listed items are not covered because they are preexisting vehicle defects that occurred prior to our purchase of the vehicle and the warranty only covers items that occur during my ownership of the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I would like for this business to complete all the necessary repairs and reimburse me for the purchase of the new rim. In the alternative, I would like for this vehicle purchase to be voided with the dealership taking possession of the vehicle, removing the vehicle ownership and title from my name with the Division of Motor Vehicles and returning the loan funding to my financial institution.

Review: I just recently bought a car Saturday, July the 25th, mind you I drove 2 hours up from Fort Meade, MD, currently stationed there. We dealt with [redacted], seems like a nice guy, was very helpful in getting everything ready as we drove down because he had to stay 30 minutes late. He had the car running when we showed up, I thought that was a nice touch and very nice of them, well after going to a mechanic, we found out why. It was on to hide the check engine and low oil pressure light, that showed up after we drove off with the car. The A/C was blowing warm, [redacted] insured us it was because it was low on freon, so we went to [redacted] down the street, car wouldn't start back up in the parking lot. IntelliCar dispatched someone to jump-start it, it took several attempts to start it. Once I recharged the freon, everything but the engine lights seemed fine. Once we got home, dropped it off at a mechanic on Sunday, he looked it over and said it was scary we even made it home, all the inner brake pads had NO PAD LEFT, and I drove home on those!!! The front rotors were rusted, he is surprised they didn't collapse! And the check engine light requires a new intake manifold, which is $1.5k for the part alone! Not to mention... the oil hadn't been changed in a year, and the transmission fluid was burnt, coolant was brown, the list goes on. I called the previous dealership that had it before IntelliCar, and they fully disclosed all these issues I am finding, so IntelliCar knew, but didn't advertise it, AND TRIED TO HIDE IT... so it makes sense why when I called the Monday after it was bought on Saturday (they are closed Sunday) that they wouldn't let me return it, or that they would swap it out with another car. After much research, other reviews on various sites show, I am not the first they have done this too, and even recently ( 8/9/2015 ) show they have done it again.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund on this vehicle and the parts I had to put in it to make it even remotely safe for someone to drive in it. My wife will be in this vehicle, I could not fathom if I did not catch all this early, what could have happened to her. If this was disclosed BEFORE I bought it, I would not of bought it if I was not able to get the price lowered for obvious reasons. I paid retail for this car, these issues should not of been here, or HIDDEN.
