In February *** *** brought his 70hp Evinrude over to the shop to have some work done. *** advised me that the motor had a misfire and not running right at all. The shop checked the motor out to fine the motor would not even turn over because the starting siloed was
bad replaced this part so that the motor would turn over, at this time we observed no spark on any cylinder on this motor, we checked the power pack and found this part was also bad. Mr*** advised us to fix what needed to be fixed. The shop replaced the power pack and after this the motor had cylinders with fire. I also found that the batteries were very bad so I replaced the batteries. Put motor in the water tank and ran motor, Motor ran but you had to choke it to make it stay running, knowing it was a very old motor I checked the carbs and found that number carb was dirty, we cleaned it out and motor ran fine when it left, the shop only gives a 30-day warranty on parts and service it says this on the bottom left of the respite. In July of Mr*** called the shop saying he just had taken his boat out and it did not run. I advised him I would take a look at it and not charge him this time with a check out fee. I tested the motor and the motor still had spark and power pack was still in working order. The motor would run only if the choke was pushed in. I advised Mr*** about this and said the shop would not charge him no labor only parts to help him out because the motor is so old. After rebuilding all three carbs and running the motor, the motor seamed to run fine no misfire motor sounded good. I called Mr*** and advised him that the motor was done and that I could not make the motor do what he said it was doing but advised him what it was doing with us at the shop and told him what we did. After piking the boat up on a Friday, the shop is closed on Sat and Sunday. On Monday Mr*** had left a message advising me that the motor would not run.
