With regard to Mr. [redacted] complaint, we place our customer service as our highest priority.  He was obviously not pleased with the response given by one of our customer service representatives,...

but he did have the option to speak to one of 3 circulation manager’s but chose not to.  Had he done so, we would have done everything possible to solve his complaint immediately.
We offer our grace period as a courtesy to our customers.  The extension beyond his due date is very common not only for the newspaper industry as a whole but for most businesses in the country.  Company’s such as the electric company, water provider, payments for your rent or mortgage or vehicle, TV, and phone are just a few examples of companies that offer a grace period after the due date as a courtesy.
This is the second time Mr. [redacted] has complained about paying for the product that he received while in a grace period.  The last time he did this was in April of 2014, at which time we were gracious enough to credit him.  That time he did speak with a circulation manager as noted in our database.  This, in and of itself, shows that Mr. [redacted] was more than aware of the grace period for our customers.
Nonetheless, in an effort to heal this issue and to retain a satisfied customer, we are willing to credit his account one last time in the amount that he owes us of $13.11.  We hope that Mr. [redacted] will be a happy customer and that he will be a subscriber for many years to come.  We have also changed the 30 day grace period on his account to 5 days.
Thank you,
