? [redacted] has been a patient of mine for a few yearsIn the beginning, I noticed she would act slightly erratic but nothing to be concerned about from a medical or legal standpointBut, in the spring of 2015, she expressed a frustration to me personally about her marriage and the
difficulties she is experiencing with her husbandI was hoping that would be itUnfortunately, over the period of a few months those complaints transpired into demands of a “special” friendship that she was seeking and wanting a relationship of a sexual nature with her and possibly her husband, as wellI’ve heard it from her verbally multiple times, as well as in writingShe demanded from me to go out with her at night multiple times, which I declined on each occasion, and warned her that she is violating doctor/patient relationship status My attempts to stop her verbal, sexual, and mental abuse did not produce any positive resultsThen, her behavior toward me personally escalated to the point where she would be upset and abusive verbally because I declined her requests for that “special” friendship/relationship that she demanded from meAt some point, she started stalking me, which led to the incident on September 17, 2015, when she stormed into my office where she was sitting in the parking lot waiting for me for 3-hoursIn the office she started to accuse MrsLeah S[redacted], my assistant, who happened to be at the reception at the timeShe accused, in a very abusive, harassing, threatening manner, that we are all in “trouble”We had to call the police to report the incidentWe felt threatened and obligated to report this incident to the authorities just in case this individual could be dangerousAt that time, she had already texted me an image of herself with a handgun and she verbally stated, “I never miss a shot”The police officer took the report and told us that since she did not break any laws, then nothing can be done at that point While all of this was going on for a few months, since early spring of 2015, I have received close to two dozen letters from [redacted]Some of the letters were certified, some not, and some were hand-delivered by [redacted], where she would express her anger toward me or regret that she acted inappropriately and she apologizes for thatThese letters often had content that was sexually explicit and repulsiveThis process continued even after she was dismissed at a patientShe was dismissed as a patient after she dropped off a letter of a threat to use deadly force/firearms to resolve her problems, that we interpreted as a result of my refusal to cooperate with her sexual demandsUp until this letter, we treated her to the best of our ability to be in compliance with all the standards of care applicable to dentistryAnd, treated her with respect and the upmost care, as we would with any of our patientsBut by producing this letter she unfortunately violated multiple civil and criminal statutes of Virginia code which prevented us to continue to see her as a patientShe sent us a letter stating that if we reinstate her as a patient then she will not complain to anyone about our officeBut if we didn’t, then she would file multiple complaints with the government, with the Virginia Dental Board, and also file a lawsuit against meShe also threatened my assistant, Leah, with a lawsuitNow she filed a complaint with the VBOD, regarding an incident where she swallowed a dental file and accused me of not having a rubber dam on the tooth[redacted] had a standard root canal with a rubber dam on, as with any other tooth in her mouth under a treatment of the root canal, as we do with all of our patients receiving endodontic careShe admitted to us in writing and to her insurance company that she violated procedural instructions during a root canal treatment and had bitten through the rubber dam, dislodging the endodontic file from the root canal, puncturing the rubber dam with the file and subsequently swallowing the file when she was clearly instructed not to make a swallowing motionShe also admitted to her insurance company in writing that this incident was her faultAfter this incident, [redacted] continued to receive dental care from us, including multiple root canals and crowns, all of which were performed with a rubber damI feel that she has filed these complaints out of retaliation for being dismissed as a patient and also because I would not receive or return her sexual advances toward meWe do not object to her right to exercise her legal rights; however, the way it was expressed to us over the phone, through letters, and in person was done so dramatically and abusive that we became fearful of how far she was going to escalate this situationWe were left with no other option but to call the police a third time; difficulties she is experiencing with her husband. I was hoping that would be it. Unfortunately, over the period of a few months those complaints transpired into demands of a “special” friendship that she was seeking and wanting a relationship of a sexual nature with her and possibly her husband, as well. I’ve heard it from her verbally multiple times, as well as in writing. She demanded from me to go out with her at night multiple times, which I declined on each occasion, and warned her that she is violating doctor/patient relationship status. My attempts to stop her verbal, sexual, and mental abuse did not produce any positive results. Then, her behavior toward me personally escalated to the point where she would be upset and abusive verbally because I declined her requests for that “special” friendship/relationship that she demanded from me. At some point, she started stalking me, which led to the incident on September 17, 2015, when she stormed into my office where she was sitting in the parking lot waiting for me for 3-hours. In the office she started to accuse Mrs. Leah S[redacted], my assistant, who happened to be at the reception at the time. She accused, in a very abusive, harassing, threatening manner, that we are all in “trouble”. We had to call the police to report the incident. We felt threatened and obligated to report this incident to the authorities just in case this individual could be dangerous. At that time, she had already texted me an image of herself with a handgun and she verbally stated, “I never miss a shot”. The police officer took the report and told us that since she did not break any laws, then nothing can be done at that point. While all of this was going on for a few months, since early spring of 2015, I have received close to two dozen letters from [redacted]. Some of the letters were certified, some not, and some were hand-delivered by [redacted], where she would express her anger toward me or regret that she acted inappropriately and she apologizes for that. These letters often had content that was sexually explicit and repulsive. This process continued even after she was dismissed at a patient. She was dismissed as a patient after she dropped off a letter of a threat to use deadly force/firearms to resolve her problems, that we interpreted as a result of my refusal to cooperate with her sexual demands. Up until this letter, we treated her to the best of our ability to be in compliance with all the standards of care applicable to dentistry. And, treated her with respect and the upmost care, as we would with any of our patients. But by producing this letter she unfortunately violated multiple civil and criminal statutes of Virginia code which prevented us to continue to see her as a patient. She sent us a letter stating that if we reinstate her as a patient then she will not complain to anyone about our office. But if we didn’t, then she would file multiple complaints with the government, with the Virginia Dental Board, and also file a lawsuit against me. She also threatened my assistant, Leah, with a lawsuit. Now she filed a complaint with the VBOD, regarding an incident where she swallowed a dental file and accused me of not having a rubber dam on the tooth. [redacted] had a standard root canal with a rubber dam on, as with any other tooth in her mouth under a treatment of the root canal, as we do with all of our patients receiving endodontic care. She admitted to us in writing and to her insurance company that she violated procedural instructions during a root canal treatment and had bitten through the rubber dam, dislodging the endodontic file from the root canal, puncturing the rubber dam with the file and subsequently swallowing the file when she was clearly instructed not to make a swallowing motion. She also admitted to her insurance company in writing that this incident was her fault. After this incident, [redacted] continued to receive dental care from us, including multiple root canals and crowns, all of which were performed with a rubber dam. I feel that she has filed these complaints out of retaliation for being dismissed as a patient and also because I would not receive or return her sexual advances toward me. We do not object to her right to exercise her legal rights; however, the way it was expressed to us over the phone, through letters, and in person was done so dramatically and abusive that we became fearful of how far she was going to escalate this situation. We were left with no other option but to call the police a third time; at which time, we were advised by the responding officer that we should file a Protective Order. After [redacted] became aware of the incident reports against her, she also filed multiple complaints against Fairfax County Police Department and other government entities (according to the Fairfax Critical Response Unit). We went to court for the Protective Order hearing, on February 16, 2016. The judge stated that [redacted] had been obviously inappropriate and violated doctor/patient privileged relationship. The judge extended the Protective Order for 1-year against [redacted]. We were instructed that we can extend that time for another year if we desire to do so in the future. [redacted] was instructed by the judge to surrender her possible CCW for a firearm and to stay away from me, my family, and my assistant, Mrs. Leah S[redacted], and her family, as well, for 1-year from the date the order was entered. [redacted], under oath, admitted her wrong-doing and was instructed by the judge that if she violates any of the statutes of the condition of her order then she will be subjected to jail time and further prosecution. I felt, as a medical professional, I should not be subjected to public humiliation by anyone to try to force me into an intimate sexual in nature relationship, which violates my legal rights. Furthermore, I’d like to add that it is very unfortunate that the fear of being subjected to legal prosecution, I as a dentist feel as if sometimes I have to put up with patients that exploit the fact that they can file any kind of frivolous lawsuit or claim against me simply because I am dentist. I hope [redacted] gets all the help that she needs and gets well.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Dr. S[redacted] has not proven to my satisfaction that his Ph.D. is real. I would like the name of the credentialing institution to verify his Ph.D. is legitimate. If he really has one, it should be easy to verify.  I have noticed that he has removed the statements that he has a highly qualified nursing staff from his website, however, I still need to be able to confirm his Ph.D. credential with his academic institute.  Dr. S[redacted] is required by law to display his credentials to the public. Regards,
[redacted]
