Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 7, 2015/09/03) */ 08-19- Mace [redacted] brought his boat trailer to Fairfield Tire Center, Incto have his wheel bearings serviced on August 6, After removing the wheels and hub bearings it was discovered that all of the bearings were corroded and rusted from the trailer usage in waterIt was also discovered that all of the brakes were severely rusted and needed replacing A phone call was made to Mr [redacted] to explain the condition of his wheel bearings and brakesWe informed him of the condition of the wheel bearings, races, seals & brakes explaining the damage from rust and corrosion from years of use and water damage causing rustMr [redacted] was quoted $1,dollars plus tax to repair the bearing and brakesHe told us not to repair the brakes but to proceed with replacing the bearings, races and sealsAt that time we quoted $dollars to do the bearing repairHe asked for a discount since he was a repeat customer and the service manager authorized a discount and reduced the price to $plus tax of $(grand total $780.22) When we called Mr [redacted] back with the new price he authorized us to proceed with replacing the wheel bearingIt should be noted he did not ask us to return the old parts When the trailer arrived the right rear bearing cap was missingWe installed new wheel bearings, new bearing races, grease seals and flat washersThis is a total of partsWe also used units of marine grease which is a supplyThe number of parts used was plus suppliesWe attempted to locate a new bearing cap but it was not available that dayIf requested, we can continue a search for the bearing cap Mr [redacted] came in and took possession of his trailer and paid for the authorized service in the amount of $He was reminded again the brakes needed to be servicedHe left and again, never requested his old parts be returneddays later, August 08, 2015, Mr [redacted] called and asked if we still had the old partsHe was told the parts had been discarded but we offered to look through our trash containers and return what we could findMost of the parts were located in the trash and Mr [redacted] picked them up on August 10, We provided out of the partsThe claim made on the complaint that there should have been parts can only be attributed to a math error made by Mr***Another review of his invoice will clearly show the number of partsI would be happy to go over the itemized charges if Mr [redacted] still needs clarity The invoice reflects all of the parts and services performed on the trailerA billing review will clearly show there were parts plus marine grease usedAll the remaining items pertain to labor service for replacing, repacking bearings, installing seals and pressing the bearing races The original work order number is on the final invoice, the invoice number does not generate until the time of invoicing when payment is received Mr [redacted] approved the quote and authorized the repairs to have his bearings replacedIf he did not want us to do the work then he should not have authorized the repair that he approved for $There is no refund due We value Mr [redacted] as a customer and look forward to servicing his vehicles in the future Most Sincerely, [redacted] ***, Sales Associate FAIRFIELD TIRE CENTER, INC
