Initial Business Response /* (1000, 18, 2016/03/09) */
3-7-
Case ID XXXXXX
To Whom It May Concern,
After receiving the above complaint regarding repairs made on a Jeep Liberty Limited for a *** ***, I reviewed the repairs and spoke with the Technician and Service Advisor ***
*** recalls the conversation with the Father, *** *** regarding the possibility of the power steering pump being faulty againPer this conversation, *** stated that they would be more than happy to replace the alleged failed pump again and send back for warranty purposes, but if the pump didn't fail/faulty then the cost of repairs would be required again for new pump and labor after replacement was made***, spoke with *** regarding all of this and decided at that time to not replace pump again
After consideration, we would be willing to return said faulty pump via the warranty with proof of repair from a certified shop showing that the power steering pump was faulty and the pump as replaced as well as the original installed pump that US Automotive had installed on Dec 15,to the manufacturer for a reimbursement to *** ***
This reimbursement could take up to two weeks from the manufacturer of the pump and would require the faulty pump along with the replacement repair receipt from the certified shopIf Ms*** would like to produce both we will ship out to the manufacturer for the warranty coverage
Sincerely,
*** ***

As was stated in my first statement, My cousin(who is a certified mechanic) did this at his home as a favor to me-because I was told by US Automotive it needed Rack and Pinion which I couldn't afford the $Us Automotive said they would charge when speaking with my FatherI then bought the Rack and Pinion from O'reilly Auto.when I saved up enough money and had my jeep towed to my cousins homeHe looked at it and determined it didn't need the Rack and Pinion (which I can prove I bought and returned to O'reilly),that it need a new pump, the one US Automotive put on was faultySo, I returned the rack and pinion and bought a pump and he put It on and my Jeep has run fine! I can provide the receipts from O'reilly's and the faulty pump put on by US Automotive, but don't have a receipt from certified shopAlso can show that the rack and pinion was never replaced on my Jeep....Any good mechanic can tell thatWhen *** spoke with my father the first time he said it was the Rack and Pinion, then when my Dad called back about it, he said if it turned out it wasn't the pump that they would charge me even the tow fee, etc....After they had already said by looking at the Jeep in person that it was the rack and pinion I couldn't afford to trust anything they saidBecause of US Automotive not fixing this the first time my father brought it back to them, I was out of a vehicle for a long stretch thinking it was a very expensive fixThank you

I disagree with the conclusions the company reached. However, as they will not...

accept any responsibility for their mistake and refuse to accept the conclusions of the company that found their mistake, I will no longer pursue this.

For one thing the coil was never problem. The plug was. They attempted to...

cover up the plug issue by putting anti-seize on it instead of replacing it. Also I did not agree with the amount they sent as it was never revealed to me until I receive a check for the 272. Also they put the coil on in an effort to cover up the plug issue. I am still seeking the 195 they charged me for the labor they charged and did not repair the issue as per their warranty.
