In response to complaint #XXXXXX, made on JAN19,2016, by Mr*** *** of Bolivar, MO, regarding an alternator my company A & J Towing and Auto, Bolivar, MO replaced; the alternator does carry a lifetime warranty made by the manufacturer,
not my companyMy warranty was for days and covers the labor only not the partTo date Mr*** has yet to contact myself nor anyone at A & J to notify us of the part breakdownA & J was the only dealer to have the alternator the customer needed on handWe also were lower in comparison to the other dealers in town on the priceHad Mr*** given me any kind of notice that the part we replaced had failed I would have done anything within my capability to rectify this situation
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 24, 2016/03/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
My mechanic called this business when the alternator broke..he refused to help us
Final Business Response /* (4000, 26, 2016/03/24) */
I have recieved no phone calls from anyone regarding this matterI would be happy to take a look at the reciept from the other mechanic because as stated before my warranty is days only and only covers the laborthis may be a manufacturer issue since they warranty the actual partif the actual part was faulty and/ or broke and needed replaced I will be more than happy to assist the customer in contacting the alternator's manufacturer to get his money back, provided it was within the time period of their warranty

On September 30th, 2015, a dark blue Ford Mustang was towed into our ShopWe looked it over and found that it had an Axel issue
in the rear endThis issue caused all the fluids in the differential to leak out and broke it in halfDue to this issue we told the customer we could fix it our do an over haulDue to this information the customer said the over haul would cost him too much and he would not be able to afford it
On October 1st, 2015, we found a complete rear end for the customer with a day warranty on it
By October 3rd, 2015, by mid-morning the job was completedThe customer was there to take it out on a test driveThe customer said that the test drive went well and he was satisfied with the workBill was paid in full
Two days after work was completed customer came back in to complain that someone had run into his carSince then he has been screaming through our driveway every other daySqualling his tires in front of our shop and through town
Three and a half week to the day of the work on his vehicle the customer in question comes in with a noise underneath his car and a very bad attitudeThe Shop owner assisted him and found a differential seal seeping fluidThe mechanic/owner put in a new seal and filled it up with fluids at no cost to the customerThe customer again would not let anyone take his car out for a test drive but himselfHe came back minutes later after pulling out of our parking lot, squalling his tires and head south on Springfield roadWe looked at his car again and found a noise coming from the transmissionThe customer knew that the second gear was torn out of his transmission, but didn't tell us about itWe looked at it again and found that the transmission was completely out of fluids, so the mechanic suggested (4-times) that he might want to go and get two quarts of transmission fluid to put in the transmissionHe went to Walmart but only got one which was not enough so he went back and got another oneThen the customer got irate with everyone
Then on Saturday the 7th of November around night time (6:30-7pm) the customer got in front of the owner of the shop squalling his tires and giving him a hateful lookWe tried everything to make this customer happy
