Review: We where contacted by Fairmount Builders to build us a stone wall out of versalock block.We hired them to do the job in July of 2004 they took down a R/R tie wall and put up the versa lock block wall the job took about a week to do.I was told by Raymond on the job the way had a 25 year warrenty on the work.Withen the first year the wall started to lean and I called them to come look at it they left me a note on my door and said the way was fine.I have called them many times sense then 6times this year alone [redacted] came by this past summer and said yes the wall is leaning but he does not work for Fairmount Builders no more.After talking with other landscape companies and the block MFG tuens out the block wall was NEVER installed right from the start so from day one the job was done WRONG the Versa lock block has to have a 3/4 inch set back on every row of block they did not do that also the block has a pin system to it the pins are not holding anything back on the wall because of the 3/4 inch set back they did not do.The end of the wall was left free standing and was not tied/returned in like it was to be done also there was to be a fiber paper used on every 4 rows of block was no installed and the french drain behind the wall does not drain out of the block the pipe is behind the wall and there was not enough gravel put behind the wall.I was also over charged on the job I paid 6995$ for the job I priced the block they only cost $5.45 a piece had 140block but all said and done the wall was never installed right from the start I was over charged for the job and they refuse to fix it and put it back up right.Had other landscape companies look at it it will cost $5.000 to 6.000 dollars to have it fixed they did a REAL BAD JOB on it I will not hire them for nothing ever again I was robbed by these people everything about this job was done wrong.Now my front yard is all moving down hill because the wall is not holding back my hillDesired Settlement: I want the wall to be takin all the way down and start over and put up the right way and add the other block where it needs the return done on the corner but not by Fairmount Builders they did not install it right in the first place.And if there is other dammage done to my home because of this way then we have another problem here if I hire some one it will be 5 to 6 thousand dollars to fix with the finance on the wall I am paying over 10.000$ for a junk wall.

I received your letter dated December 24, 2014 informing me of a complaint about mycompany submitted on December 23,2014 and assigned an ID# [redacted]Fairmount Builders entered into a home improvement contract with [redacted], not[redacted], on September 21, 2010. The contact was to build a Versa Lokwall and a porch roof for a total of $9600.00. We could only arrange financing for$6,900.00. Fairmount Builders agreed to do the job for the lesser amount. The customercertainly was not over charged.Per the contract there is a one-year warranty on the job. It is now over 4 years old. Westill came arid looked at the job when the customer called us this year. The neighbor’swall is right against the customer’s wall, The neighbor’s wall is crumbling and fallingover, which is bringing down the hillside and causing the customer’s wall to move.There is also a large tree on the hillside and the roots are pushing. We informed, thecustomer that she needed to remove the tree at the time the work was done. The tree isstill there.The customer’s wall was built correctly with the best materials available. With thecondition of the adjoining wall and subsequent results of the soil moving the customershould be contacting the neighbor other insurance company not filing a complaintagainst me that is full of many inaccurate statements.Fairmount Builders has an A+ rating with the Revdex.com and we have been in business since1984.
