Regards,
L*** M*** My response to K C Auto was not only because of what my friend told me but was the suggestion of The SC Consumer response to my complaint. I emailed again this morning K C Auto to settle for $400.00. Their response to me was no

I am responding to complaint ID [redacted].On July 11 2017  Mr. J[redacted] had F250 Truck towed into our shop for a no start condition. Starter would spin only.  After checking the vehicle we had found that one starter bolt was missing, one was broken and the other one was loose. The starter...

housing was broken as well. We called Mr. J[redacted] and he said he would have to call Mrs. M[redacted], the owner of the truck.  They approved repairs and they picked it up on July 13 2017. They left the shop and the truck would not start at all. Starter wouldn't even spin.  So we towed the truck in and it started fine. My guys charged them a tow bill and they picked up the truck. On July 14 it would not start again right above the shop. same thing no spinning or anything we went out and verified it would not start. We got truck to shop and determined the starter we put on was bad so we replaced it under warranty on the weekend when we do not work and also refunded the $55.00 tow back to them.  Truck done fine. no call or complaints.  On September 13 2017 Mrs. M[redacted] brought the truck back exclaiming that she cant be left stranded and it was doing the same thing as before. when starting it would make a noise sometimes just in the morning and that it had done that 4 days in a row once in the mornings. We started the truck several times and could not get it to happen. Left it over night and it done it that morning we checked the starter and removed it and spun the flywheel all the way around by hand. We found there was a couple teeth damaged on the flex plate that when it stops in that position it will make a grinding noise. We also found a coolant leak that is leaking onto the starter and a fuel leak that is leaking externally on the front of the engine. We quoted  $810.00 ti replace the flywheel, $300.00 to replace the block heater that is leaking coolant $255.00 o fix the fuel leak. With diagnosis at $103.00. Where she got flywheel at $1450 is beyond me. They only heard one thing and it was not what they wanted to hear. Kind of like my daughter when I tell her no, about the same behavior resulted. She also filed a complaint with the Consumer affairs and said that another shop had fixed it with new starter bolts. That we had put the wrong bolts in. We did not use factory ford bolts we used same size and threaded bolts for the starter. We have made this same repair with the same bolts in the past with out any issues.  So since she said that it "fixed it" I agreed to give her what that shop charged her plus the 103 in my diagnostic charge back. Which came to about $333. She accepted my offer than declined it. She sent in this claim with the Revdex.com trying to get what was left of what I had originally charged her if you calculate the numbers back together. Now she said she is taking me to court so I said that is fine I will see you there. The Consumer Affairs closed the complaint after our response. Mrs. M[redacted] has not been completely truthful in there statement of events.  She stood in front of my place protesting with a sign for 2-3 days  I had to call the law to make her move off of my property.  Which she did and she stayed on the side walk which is perfectly legal. I have never broken the law. Just wanted paid for work that was done. Our invoice does not state it is a refurbished starter as she claims. We buy parts from several vendors and as having a retail license we can mark those parts up as needed to make our margins. That is why we are in business. We do not work for free. I did tell her Mr. J[redacted] that the truck would not leave until the bill was paid. He threatened to leave and I told him he would not until the bill was paid. I didn't scare him I simply followed him out the door to shut my gate. that is not extortion. That is called getting paid for what you do.I tried to explain to them that the teethe on the Flywheel was damaged from the starter hanging off of the truck before we repaired it. It just now started acting up. They can not and will not make any sense of that. I can not explain myself any easier than that. I am attaching all my invoices and consumer affairs and emails form Mrs. M[redacted].I will not offer any type of settlement at this time since she accepted and declined. It's a matter of pride and that we do quality work. I will see them in court.  Thanks for your time in this matter. J[redacted]KC'S Automotive Specialists
