Four main points: There is one condition listed in plain language on the flyer as a reason for not receiving a professional cleaning as part of the $promotion, that condition being gum diseaseThis is the exact condition that Mr [redacted] has and he admits that he has known about it for at least years In spite of his gum disease, which has now been independently diagnosed by multiple licensed dental professionals, Mr [redacted] denies that he needs the standard therapy recognized and recommended by every single professional organization having to do with treatment of gum diseaseAs I explained previously, this treatment is called scaling and root planingWhile he has every right to refuse this treatment, he does not have the right to dictate what I or the hygienist here will do for treatment instead It is my opinion as a dentist that the relatively superficial cleaning which Mr [redacted] desires would serve little to no good given the extent of his condition and would perhaps even contribute to his sense of security that his gum disease has no adverse effects We did not violate the terms of the promotion as outlined in the flyerMr [redacted] has failed to demonstrate that we have done so because he cannotAny argument that there was a violation on our part is based on erroneous interpretation of the plain language of the flyer Though he is dissatisfied, Mr [redacted] did in fact receive all that he was entitled to under the terms of the promotion, plus a supplemental periodontal exam to assess and diagnose his gum diseaseThe value of what he received is exactly what was advertised, plus moreTherefore his $will not be refundedIf Mr [redacted] wishes to seek clarification regarding his oral health needs with myself or my well-qualified staff, we will happily obligeOur goal remains the oral and overall health of every patient that sits in any of our chairsThis includes Mr [redacted] if he should choose to remain a patient here

Four main points:
1. There is one condition listed in plain language on the flyer as a reason for not receiving a professional cleaning as part of the $49 promotion, that condition being gum disease. This is the exact condition that Mr. [redacted] has and he admits that he has known about it for at least 5 years.
2. In spite of his gum disease, which has now been independently diagnosed by multiple licensed dental professionals, Mr. [redacted] denies that he needs the standard therapy recognized and recommended by every single professional organization having to do with treatment of gum disease. As I explained previously, this treatment is called scaling and root planing. While he has every right to refuse this treatment, he does not have the right to dictate what I or the hygienist here will do for treatment instead.
3. It is my opinion as a dentist that the relatively superficial cleaning which Mr. [redacted] desires would serve little to no good given the extent of his condition and would perhaps even contribute to his false sense of security that his gum disease has no adverse effects.
4. We did not violate the terms of the promotion as outlined in the flyer. Mr. [redacted] has failed to demonstrate that we have done so because he cannot. Any argument that there was a violation on our part is based on erroneous interpretation of the plain language of the flyer.
Though he is dissatisfied, Mr. [redacted] did in fact receive all that he was entitled to under the terms of the promotion, plus a supplemental periodontal exam to assess and diagnose his gum disease. The value of what he received is exactly what was advertised, plus more. Therefore his $49 will not be refunded. If Mr. [redacted] wishes to seek clarification regarding his oral health needs with myself or my well-qualified staff, we will happily oblige. Our goal remains the oral and overall health of every patient that sits in any of our chairs. This includes Mr. [redacted] if he should choose to remain a patient here.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:d espite all the reteric fairview dental spuews out  about what thier flyer states the facts remain when looked at the large bold type states a 49$ teeth cleaning and that is what people who read it interpets it to mean exactly that . to me it is like taking your car to get an oil change on a special and the tech comes back with a bunch of recommendations that may need attention but at least they do the oil change unlike Fairview Dental . In my experience good business practice gets good results my main goal is to help other consumers out there not recieve this type poor serviceSincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: the flyer said it was good for a teeth cleaning not an examination to determinate what type cleaning to recieve  I have heard horror stories about deep root cleaning beeing very intrusive and causing more problems in some cases as I told them I had no current problems whith the way my teeth felt and turned down the same diagnosis 5 years preivious with no problems to date they have the right to make recomendations to treatments but they should go ahead and do what the flyer states a 49$ cleaning and they would of had a happy customer which means good buisness .Fairview Dental may be strugleing for buisness or why else send out flyers but to try and drum up more buisness . I feel they did not do all they could have done in my encounter with them and that they are on a path to more disapointment in the future . They owe me my 49$ as I did not recieve what was expectied and I hope these complaints help others not have an experience like mine .Sincerely,[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,
Thank you for the opportunity of sharing our side of the story!
The patient/customer in question responded to a mailed flyer identical to the one attached.
We understand that this individual is upset because he planned on having his teeth cleaned as part of the promotion.
Not all...

patients require the same level of cleaning, for example those with gum disease require a "deeper cleaning" of sorts that includes anesthesia of affected parts of the mouth and instrumentation well below the gum line in order to remove plaque and tartar.
This type of cleaning is typically done and billed by mouth quadrant (upper left, lower right, etc.). When four or more teeth in a quadrant need this deeper cleaning around them, a typical charge like ours of $217 is billed per quadrant. This is to offset the extra time and materials required relative to a typical full mouth "adult prophylaxis" cleaning.
Please refer to the "New Patient Offers" section of the flyer attached. Among the services offered in promotion is a "professional cleaning".
Given the extra cost to us, we included an asterisk to reference a caveat directly below that a professional cleaning could only be offered in the absence of gum disease, since we are not willing to offer up to a full mouth of specialized, deeper cleaning at such a low cost resulting in a loss to our business.
This particular patient was found to have the conditions consistent with a diagnosis of periodontal disease (gum disease), for which the standard of care is scaling and root planing of affected areas (deeper cleaning).
The patient was not surprised with this assessment, in fact he said he had been given the same diagnosis years ago, but chose not to seek treatment.
For reference, less than 10% of patients who respond to the flyer have this treatment recommended.
My hygienist and I explained to this patient that the cleaning he required was of a different sort than what he expected and that the flyer promotion did not include or promise he would receive that type of cleaning.
At the time of the appointment he seemed disappointed, but did not press the point further until the day after when he called and expressed his discontent. After I again explained the terms listed on the flyer and that we had acted within those terms, he was not satisfied and told me he would be contacting the Revdex.com.
Thank you for everything that you do.
Regards,
Russell P. P[redacted], DDS
