Missing personal property. Not compensated for damaged property. Job not completed, left my pool table not assembled. Over charged move took too long
I used their services on 2/29/20 to move. They arrived late. They were aware of everything that had to be moved including a pool table. Movers dropped table twice at old residence and damaged personal property including not delivering glass shelves for a curio cabinet.
They took over 10 hrs to do the move because they couldn't move pool table and couldn't get refrigerator out of old residence. They did damage to personal property including furniture and inside the new house. They disassembled my pool table , pulled felt off of it and did not put the pool table back together. It still sits upside down in my family room and is a danger to my grand babies. Its been 4 and half months and I have not been compensated or repairs done. I did file a claim with them on 3/5/20. They offered my $250 for all the damages and they were suppose to fix pool table. I did not sign off on claim because it did not cover everything and they wanted me to waive my rights to giving a bad review. I have been emailing them for months now with no satisfaction. They no longer respond, they haven't sent me my glass shelves (which they stated were going to be sent over 3 months ago), pool table still in the middle of the floor. They are trying to state its my fault because I didn't sign the claim forms but its not because the claim didn't cover everything. Last email rec'd from them was 6/12/20 and they were suppose to reforward the claim forms. I have sent numerous emails since then and the forms not rec'd. Supposedly the owner got involved about 2 months ago, they finalized the claim at $500 and I was suppose to fix the pool table myself. I refused the offer because it is not my responsibility to fix the pool table on my own. I didn't take it apart and it was suppose to be put back together. That was part of the move. In they're eyes the claim is closed but yet I haven't rec'd anything. No check, no shelves and pool table not put back together. This was suppose to be a $500 to $600 move, it ended up costing me over $1100 for a job not completed and it took too long because the movers had issues moving my stuff. It is not my fault they had issues, which they shouldn't. They tried taking the refrigerator without taking doors off (over 2 hrs at old residence to get it out) and they had issues getting it in new residence. Then they took the felt off the pool table and completely took it apart to move it which was not necessary. I moved the table in one piece from NJ so I don't understand why they had an issue and completely messed it up to move it. They were suppose to be professional. They're saying the amount paid was appropriate. They movers weren't even out of my driveway before they took they payment out of my account for the move, when I specifically stated I needed to know amount before they took payment. They didn't tell me the total just took the money. This move and the ongoing battle for me to get satisfaction has been a nightmare. The customer service is horrible. No one should have to wait this long to be compensated. They keep trying to blame me for the delay but I'm not going to sign anything unless everything is made right. And I am certainly not going to waive my rights to write a proper review for this company. Several months, several emails I just want this done and over with. Claim filed concerning the matter was 3/2/20.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking compensation for damaged property. I would like a partial refund for services rendered considering they took too long (their fault) and the job wasn't completed (pool table still not assembled and a danger to my grand babies and myself. I haven't been able to use it for months). I want the pool table repaired considering they stated they were going to do it and haven't. It needs to be back to its original state. I want my glass shelves for my curio cabinet. If they don't have them or they are damaged, I need it replaced.

Faithful Moving & Storage Response • Jul 15, 2020

The case was evaluated by our claims department and the customer was offered a compensation amount of $500 based on the valuation coverage she selected at pickup. Customers are given two options. First option is to select full value insurance which costs an extra fee but covers at full value. The second option is basic which covers the items at $.60 per pound per article. This is free but does not cover it at full value. It covers at the weight the customer provided to us at the time of booking. Due to the governor mandating our business close two days after we moved her I personally offered the customer to wait until we could enter her home and put it up. She refused the compensation amount and wanted to be covered at full value which she did not pay for.

Yes they did offer $500 but wanted me to get my pool put back together at my expense and agree to no bad reviews. If I used the $500 to repair the pool table (I don't know how much its going to take to repair what they damaged) then how am I compensated for my other property damage. They did not say wait for the repairs and even if they did, how long am I suppose to wait. Its been 4 months. I never said I wanted the replacement cost of the pool table. I said I wanted them to put it back together and replace the felt the movers ripped off. One of the movers said they had a friend who could repair it and was suppose to call me the day after the move but that never took place. They have yet to address the other issue of my glass shelves. Where are they? I did not provide a weight on my items to moved at the time of the booking. I told them what had to be moved. They wanted an extra $400 to fully cover the pool table which is ridiculous. If I knew the movers were going to have an issue with the pool, drop it, rip the felt off, I might have considered the additional insurance. But I was assured they knew what they were doing and charged an additional $150 plus the move to my total cost. So I paid extra for them to move the pool table and put it back together and what did I get? A damaged pool table and its not put back together. They keep trying to put the blame on me, the consumer, that's not a good business practice. They are just trying to get out of repairing something their movers did. I paid for the pool table to be moved and put back together. Instead I got damaged property, missing shelves and an unusable pool table. I was overcharged and technically the move is not completed but yet they still made sure they got paid. So at this point I want to be made whole, compensated for damages and the pool put back to its original state. I find it amusing that they responded immediately to the Revdex.com but yet take weeks to reply to my emails if at all. Them not responding to my emails shows that they are ignoring me at this point. They will say they aren't. I have been told that everyone at this company is aware of my move and the fact that I've been trying for months to get my situation rectified. In their response they are trying to look like they have tried to correct the issue but in reality they have dragged this out because if they truly wanted to close this case, I'd have my shelves, the pool table would be usable and I would have been compensated for the property damage.

The shelving units are in our warehouse as it was explained to the customer. That will be shipped to the customer upon closing her claim. I can't just mail it and she refuses to sign saying they were received. Without the pool table being out back together the customers claim was supposed to be settled at $119. It was added as $500 to close so we would not need to enter her home to repair she could get someone to do. We received 5 quotes for repair each coming out to less than $200 so the customer still refuses to close the claim. I'm order to operate there are laws in place that say what we pay out based on the valuation coverage selected. It was sent to claims to investigate entirely. Claims found the customer to have provided several false statements with trying to receive insurance payout. Based on the valuation coverage selected we are closing the claim at $500 and the customer has to get someone to bond in and out the felt on the pool table. There were no damages made by the movers to the pool table they just could not put it back together as the pool table looked to have been taken apart and put together several times already causing the screws to be stripped. We are not operating or going into any customers homes as the business is shut down. Claims offered to cover the cost upon investigation of what it would cost. We are not required to provide any form of monetary compensation which she signed when she booked her move. We settle claims based on valuation coverage selected and unfortunately she selected the basic $.60 per pound which is not much, This is what her claim will be paid at and we would need the claim forms signed and sent back. The firms are provided by who regulates household goods movers and we are allowed to put no bad reviews as a stipulation. If she can't adhere to the claim form and doesn't want to settle under the guidelines chosen now (after she signed agreeing to this the day of her move) there is nothing else further we can do. The case will be closed as not accepting payment.

I have emails from Faithful moving stating they were going to get the pool table repaired. They are now stating I made false allegations for damages? What was false? I have pictures of everything. Glass shelves WERE suppose to be sent to me, no mention that they needed claim form signed first (email attached). They never asked me to sign off on the shelves. They are stating the movers couldn't put the pool table back together because the screws were stripped and it looked like the table had been taken apart several times. How did they come up with that conclusion? I was at my last residence for over 10 years why would I take the pool table apart. The pool table was moved once prior to Faithful movers touching it and that was in Feb 2009 when I moved it from NJ to SC and it sat in the same place for over 10 yrs. They are just shifting the blame again on me. I am not refusing payment. I am requesting that everything be made right as per our several emails. Compensation for damaged property and pool table put back together. How hard is that to understand? They say they rec'd 5 quotes for repairing pool, they only mentioned one to me. As far as bad reviews, I haven't put any reviews up. They only want good reviews posted about their company to make them look good to consumers. Everything they are stating in their responses are false but yet they are trying to make it seem that I am not cooperating. I'd like to see the quotes they rec'd concerning the pool table.
I will settle once they agree to: send my shelves like they already stated on 3/27, compensation for damages and table repaired like they already stated. Send me the claims forms with the proper items covered and pool table repaired by them and I will sign.

Yes, we were going to send someone out to do the pool table. Again, if the governor says we can't operate I can't over rude his decision to please a customer. Everyone was affected by this but done businesses were not allowed to reopen or if they were it was with stipulations. Our business is not open to send anyone out to repair anything so we added the repair price in the settlement price. We don't care about what reviews you right as we have the same opportunity to respond and have built relationships with our clients who refer us themselves to others. Again, the claim forms need to be signed and sent back for us to settle anything. We are in a different state and our governor still has us on a whole different level than your governor who has opened up everything back up. If you would like us to come in and repair you would need to wait until we reopen and your claim amount will be adjusted to the $119 amount. This is our last response to you as we have followed all protocol based on who regulates us and unfortunately you do not get any special privileges. We follow thdd Ed same rules for everyone. Based on the valuation coverage you chose this is your outcome. Thank you

In your own email that was attached, you stated the refrigerator alone was $150 so where is this $119 coming from? Also in the email you stated the settlement cost would be $250 which includes $100 because I was inconvenienced. What about the other damages, you have pictures of everything. $119 doesn't even cover the frig. Yes I want the pool table fixed and not everything is closed. You can hire someone in SC. Business' are open with limits. What do you figure we wait until Covid19 completely disappears? What's a good time frame another six to 9 months. I have already had other services rendered at my property with social distancing, face masks etc. Where are my shelves? Something else that's just sitting there unusable. Also, you keep saying just the felt on the table is damaged and that is the weight you are going by. Technically the whole table is damaged until you put it back properly. I've attached all damages which are pictures you already have. (hopefully they attach) Send me the proper claim form (like you kept saying you were going to do) and we can get this over with. Claims forms should show amount for all damages and include statement that you are going to repair pool table and that amount is not included in the dollar amount but your responsibility. Repair should be made within the next 30 days which should be sufficient time to make arrangements. The table has been upside down and un-usable for 5 months now.

The final payout amount is $500. Your items are covered at $.60 per pound. You will need someone to put the pool table together or wait until we reopen our business to come in a do it. Again, if we complete it your payout is not $500 as it will go back to the original $.60 per pound. You selected lesser coverage and want us to cover it at full value which we are not going to do. If you are refusing the offer there is nothing else we can do on this end, Please read all paperwork you signed we are following all protocol and not allowing special privileges to anyone. I'm more than happy to send someone out once the business reopens in August.

Customer Response • Jul 30, 2020

I still don't know where I stand. I will agree to the $250 they originally stated, have them repair pool table in August and I want my shelves for my curio cabinet. They have not spoken to me and have not sent corrected claim paperwork. So I need some kind of confirmation from them about this claim.
