we are willing to assist in any mechanical issues, by providing labor and parts at a discounted price, to help the customer get his vehicle operating properly. However, 7 months after the purchase date and the warranty has expired, we would not absorb the cost to replace the engine as Mr [redacted] is requesting, to the cost of $6000.

    This is in response to the complaint you received from Mr. [redacted].  The vehicle in question was purchased from our dealership on January 25, 2014 by Mr. [redacted].  He was given...

the results of our safety inspection along with a verbal disclosure that we had replaced the front fender and headlight.  The vehicle is a 2007 GMC Sierra it had 168,647 miles on it at the [redacted]e of purchase.  Mr. [redacted] contacted us on August 18, 2014 at approx 2:00, saying that the engine was blown and that he wanted all the documentation we had on the truck so he could give it to his attorney.  That was the first and only [redacted]e Mr. [redacted] had contacted us regarding the vehicle.  We give a free 30 day/1500 mile warranty on the engine and transmission, on all our vehicles.  Unfortunately Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle is beyond those guidelines.  It has been over 7 months since the purchase date and we have no way of knowing how the truck was serviced during that [redacted]e.  We would be more than happy to assist Mr. [redacted] with contacts that we have which could help him in repairing his truck and perhaps save him some money.  However, up to this point we have had no further contact with the customer.

Fallbrook motors  did disclose the fender had been replaced but nothing in regurads to head light as they are still broken and never was disclosed along with many other items such as frame damage
And many used parts on this motor . This is a diesel motor motor that should have lasted 400,000 plus miles ! When I talked to them they did not want to help or disclose any info on the vehicle prior to purchase ! I have all my service records for this vehicle and this vehicle has been maintained and very well taken care since purchase ! My mechanic is doing more researche on vehicle has they have found several things that have been changed on motor with used parts .

I previously have taken the sierra to have maintenance done ! Back in February I spent 1500$ to get all issues fixed ! Now the motor has blown and the motor cost is 6800$ and a labor cost to install is 1500$ I would be willing to accept 2000$ to resolve this matter ! Which is less then half of previous parts and labor that I had to fix and the install charge of new motor . I think this would be a fair resolution for both parties .
