Review: The service was to pitch my gutters so that the rain water didn't come down on the step. Also asked that he check the other gutters while he is here and let me know cost so I don't have any surprises. When I got the bill it says -pitched the front gutter and cut an outlet on south end of cutter. When I called him he said he also checked the gutter in front of the garage; which couldn't have been as there was a tree growing in there and I had to clean it out. Plus I never asked him to cut a hole in the other gutter - come winter i'm hoping this isn't going to cause a problem. But when he did the repitching of the gutter; all the screws are not in - (in the middle) the gutter screws are sticking out and gutter is loose (I mentioned that to him). I also noted that when repitching the gutter there are "V" in the fascia and the wood is showing. Who has work done and not complete it - why would I want wood showing on my house to ROT. His reply was - The metal that is turned up was not done by me. That’s where the gutter straps used to be and I leveled the gutter to pitch to the downspout. The gutter problems you had are now fixed. If you feel you need all new gutters, new flashings and new gutter straps, I could have done that. I always try to save money for the home owner. It’s a tough line to walk. If you feel you need more work done on your gutters, you will have to find another contractor. We are booked for the year. Sorry I can’t help you further.

I replied - I have no need for new gutters they are not that old and in great shape; it was how the adjusting was done. I’ve looked at all the other gutters and none of them look like the one does now – nor did it in the past as to how it is hanging on. Where the gutter is to be attached to the house it is not even tight on (at the hanger) and wood is showing. That is just a situation for rotting wood – and that is not how the gutters were before the adjustment. If I understand your reply - it sounds like you are not interested in looking at the situation and backing your work.

He never replied. ---Now I have gutters that are open to rotting and gutters that are not completely attached.Desired Settlement: I want the gutters fully attached to the house (screw them in) and have the fascia nailed down (with appropriate nails that won't rust) - caulk at seams (I don't know what needs to be done - the wood just shouldn't be showing - what is the proper way for this to get fixed - that is their job to share with the customer what needs to be done - not just do partial and then walk away) - while keeping the gutters properly pitched. If unable to complete the work I want a full refund.

Business

Response:

Business states that the gutters were pitched appropriately and are functional now and the issue is resolved. He is booked for the remainder of the season, but is willing to refund $100.
