Unless you need anything but an oil change, ( and that I wonder about), steer clear of this businessWould give a negative rating if possible

Decided to support a young entrepreneur in the area. Walked in to set-up an oil change and was able to get one immediately the same day. I left 30 minutes later impressed by quick service and the low fee of $20.00. I drove 2 miles to my house and parked the car for the night. Left for work in Marshfield the next day and about 5 miles out of town my car started smoking and was no longer drive-able. Calling into work and calling a tow truck $40.00 later I was at my normal repair shop. Problem was found to be that the incompetent worker at Family Automotive had drained my TRANSMISSION FLUID instead of my OIL. Gets better, while thinking that they had drained my old oil they added new oil on top of the old oil-overfilling the oil tank. After confirming this was the problem with the other shop I was told that something like this can have long-lasting negative impacts on your vehicle.
My father at the time was the owner of the vehicle and decided to pay Family Automotive a visit. Nick was confronted about the issue and was very abrasive, lacked good business practice, came off incompetent, childish, and down-right rude. Raising his voice and refusing to effectively correct the problem. My father ended up just walking away. After work I was able to come down with my dad and talked to Nick myself. I explained my concerns and my frustrations and Nick did seem more calm. At this point I asked for a contract to be written that if anything were to further go wrong with the vehicle that was a result of his error, that he would need to cover the expenses. It took multiple stops to the shop and phone calls before I receive a "contract". The "contract" was the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. Written on lined-paper in pencil with multiple spelling errors, and beat around the bush of what the contract was even supposed to be about.
We did contact a lawyer about the situation and talked with Nicks business lawyer as well; who did not have great things to say about the business in general.
Our lawyer mentioned that you have to allow the shop to fix the problem first. I refused to let him touch my vehicle one more time. I would not pursue this route.
Nick ultimately refunded me my money and paid for my tow; however the fact that I now had a potentially unreliable car could not be fixed. Additionally the treatment we received from Nick could not be forgotten.
MANY people were told about this experience including local businesses and business owners. Word traveled pretty quickly. Even local automotive businesses had been hearing complaints about Nick's business; including my experience.
Nick needs to learn some business sense and high standard business practices. Glad to see he closed his business, definitely not the kind of business we need to see in Wisconsin Rapids.
