Family Danes

I would like to take this opportunity to let other people know about my experience with Jan and Family DanesI have raised several dogs from puppies over the years however I have never purchased a puppy without first seeing themWe had researched many breeds and settled on a Great DaneOur search began with many of the shelters in the area unfortunately we were unable to found a suitable match for our familyAfter some research on line I contacted Jan first by e mail then by phoneShe was extremely helpful through the initial process of choosing the right puppy and was extremely knowledgable about Great DanesWe settled on a puppy named Blaze and she made all the arrangements to get him to usWe live in NH so Blaze had to be flown upAll this was new to us so as you can imagine we were a little apprehensive of what may pop out of the kennelJan had provided us with tons of pictures and videos of Blaze, her description was perfectHe is an amazing caring puppy who loves to be held and play with our other dogWe have had him for a little over weeks now and we could not have asked for more wonderful well adjusted addition to the familyThe way a puppy is handled and loved from birth is extremely important in it's ability to socialize and adjust to a new environmentIt is obvious that Blaze was shown a tremendous amount of care and received a fair amount of trainingHe was essentially house broken from the time he arrived and has just been a wonderful addition to the familyHe has been to the vet twice for shots and check ups, he has no health issues and is a beautiful black color with white sox on all aroundIf you are looking for a Great Dane I would recommend connecting with Jan and Family Danes, they have been wonderful

We were very happy with the service and experience at Family DanesThey were very knowable and helpful with each question we hadThey provided us with updates throughout the adoption processThe prices were in line with other breeders I had inquired with The puppy has been in good health since we picked him upHe has a wonderful temperament and is very loving I would not hesitate to recommend this breeder to a friendIt is our intention to purchase another Great Dane from this breeder

I had a very positive experience with Family Danes, I had inquired about a new litter of pups and received several emails and Pics of the pups as they progressed to weeks when I actually purchased and picked up our beautiful blue puppyThe experience didn't stop there though, I had several questions with this being our first Dane pup and Famiky Danes offered great direction and support and now our blue boy is now a beautiful part our family!

I had a very positive experience working with family danes! I got puppies from this breeder and they are both beautiful, healthy, and precious to our family! We bought our babies, a black,white,and blue male and a blue female from Family DanesThey both have been a joyWell taken care of and first round of shots

I found Family Danes on a website I emailed them and got a response immediately They have ALWAYS been up front and honest with me They shared pics of my baby and actually let me come to them a day before I was supposed to arrive with NO problems at all If I have any questions, I feel comfortable enough to text and still get a response right back Family Danes is one of the best Breeders I have dealt with

I wasn't going to write a review because I thought maybe my puppy was the only one with parvoI'm happy I came back and read this last review of someone who said she had multiple people reach out to her with puppies from Family Danes who had parvo I purchased a beautiful puppy from this breeder back in NovemberWithin days of having her she showed her first symptom and right away I brought her to the animal hospitalLuckily they caught it early but she still spent whole days in the hospital fighting for her lifeIt was the most heartbreaking experience and I'm writing so no one else has to go through what I did The breeder told me that she could have picked it up from anywhere but I have a written document from the vet at the animal hospital that she caught the virus from the breederNot only did I experience an extremely upsetting days but I also had to pay around $7,to bring my puppy back to good health (which the breeder will not take any part of responsibility for)I reached out to the state attorney and unfortunately there are no laws against breeders in TennesseeThe only thing I can do is inform others Family Danes needs to stop breeding animals and bleach every single surface in that houseHer Great Danes are beautiful but she should not be selling unhealthy puppiesIt is sickening that they sell these puppies knowing they are going to break the hearts of all these peopleI am writing this so other people make the conscious decision of buying a puppy and knowing the expense and heartbreak it may cause themMy girl is now months old and as healthy as can beThankfully I had the means to help the puppy I loved and thankfully she survived such a traumatic experience

This is the 4th great dane puppy I have bought from Family DanesI have grandchildren that are at our home oftenAll of them have been great with the kidsThe temperament of the four danes we got from Family Danes has been greatThey love the kids and my grandchildren were very small when we got our 1st puppyThe size of their dogs are HUGH!!! I live in Wi & I am sure I could find a great dane some place here in Wi but I never would because of the great dogs we have had with Family Danes Thanks, [redacted] in Wi

I can only give the highest possible review of [redacted] and Family DanesAfter much research and after reading all of the online reviews I could find (including those on the Revdex.com website), I contacted ***I had a lot of questions, particularly regarding negative reviews that I had read [redacted] candidly answered every question I had about those reviews and the concerns that I hadIn the end, I decided that unhappy customers are far more likely to leave a review than are happy customers--thus this reviewI certainly understand that a bad experience can leave one feeling very negative and I sympathize with anyone who had to deal with an unhappy experienceHowever, I am happy to report that our experience has been as good as it could have been [redacted] sent me pictures of her puppies and I selected one at weeksOver the next five weeks I received additional information and pictures both unsolicited and at my requestAt eight weeks I picked up our beautiful, blue puppy with a minimal drive thanks to ***'s daughter meeting me part way [redacted] is now months old, lbs, happy, healthy and a perfect fit with our familyEveryone notes what a handsome dog he is and this can only be attributed to good breeding and good careBased on my experience, I highly recommend Family Danes and I am strongly considering getting a new brother or sister for our babyBased on our experience I recommend Family Danes, without reservation

NoNoNo I do not advise buying your puppy from this so called "breeder" I'll just jump right in I discovered the website for Family Danes online and although their review page is full of updates from families and pictures of their gorgeous pups, I can't help but wonder how many of them are fictitious The evening we arrived to choose our new addition to our family, our hearts were immediately stolen by the little black pup who kept getting his head stuck in the puppy gate He was precious and had the cutest sleepy eyes The whole way home he sleptOnce we got home, he slept However, no worries- that's what little puppies are supposed to do, right? The next day, the diarrhea started Enough online investigation lead us to believe that it was probably related to the change in his diet or perhaps even "stress related" due to the new environmentDespite our best efforts to calm his stomach with white rice, chicken & pepo (along with everything else we read to do) he still seemed to be having the same problem a few days following Then, the vomitting started; It was time to visit the vet The vet diagnosed our sweet Baker with Parvovirus Needless to say we were devastated After all, we had only had our puppy for daysI was informed by the vet that the incubation period for parvovirus is 7-days (some say 3-7) and that it was his professional opinion that he was already beginning to get sick at the time of purchase Also, taking into consideration that no other animals enter our home, it all made sense Okay- so parvovirus is out there I didn't immediately blame the "breeder" It happensNext, we took a look at when the last vaccinations took place for our pup Turns out he was almost weeks overdue the day we picked him upFor only $20-bucks this whole fiasco could have been avoidedTalk about angry What type of breeder skips vaccinations? Seeing as how we had just spent $on a new puppy and were now being hit with a $vet bill days in, we were not excited to hear that treatment could cost up to $3,000-5,much less not provide our puppy a guaranteed recoveryMy husband and I decided to do home treatment and to do everything we could to save this puppy After a week of sleepless nights, hard work & lots of love we were able to nurse our pup back to health; we wouldn't trade him for anythingThe entire experience was heartbreaking and extremely draining for our puppy and our familyToday is weeks since our Baker has kicked Parvo's butt I said all of that to say this- I called the "breeder" more than a handful of times, left numerous voicemails and texts and received ONE phone call back only for her to say, "Oh, I'm sorryLet me check with my other families to see if they are having problems and I will get back with you." I never heard a wordIn addition, we just discovered that our puppy also has entropion which is a hereditary trait that is in the bloodline (if you are unaware - Google it)When I inquired about whether or not either of my puppies parents had been diagnosed with entropion, the "breeder" told me she was unfamiliar with entropion but would look it upI never heard another word Shocker! Needless to say we will be shelling out another chunk of dough to correct that with surgery when he is of age This "breeder" did not stand behind the sale of her dogShe did not offer any helpful advice She did not apologize once for neglecting the puppies vaccinationsShe did not offer to refund any amount of money to help cover the vet bills caused by her mistakeShe got her cash and she was done This does not sound like someone who should be breeding animals If you do happen to buy from these people, please take your puppy to the vet before you even bring him homeIt is likely that he is not up to date with vaccinations and could already have a sickness that could kill him in several days

I hate writing bad reviews but unfortunately I have to on this onePlease look elsewhere for your family's puppyWe paid a deposit on a puppy and she was kind enough to send pictures of for a month before we got herThen the evening before we were driving hours to her she emails and says the dog passed awayIt got into some chocolate raisins and diedSeemed a bit shady but no matter what I understood accidents happenShe offered another puppy but wanted to charge us a lot moreI just think the entire thing was very questionable and needless to say my kids were heartbroken

I bought my Great Dane puppy from Family Danes in 2014, and have since returned for stud servicesI cannot say enough positive about this family and their beautiful dogs! Not only are the owners amazingly kind, but the dogs are top notch! Healthy, well cared for, socialized, big beautiful babies! I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone interested

We bought trooper, our black dane, in December of He is about to one year old and has been such a blessing to our family We live in New Hampshire and the transfer was perfect He fits perfectly into our family and would not have asked for a better puppy I would highly recommend using family danes Excellent Service

I bought a wonderful and healthy Great Dane puppy from Family Danes in May Jan W*** was very good with picking out the right puppy She was, is and continues to be a very helpful person Whenever I've had any issues with the puppy she stayed with me until things were resolved She's always supportive and encouraging The puppy is a fabulous dog He's very loving and sweet natured I couldn't be happier with both Family Danes and the dog I would highly recommend it to anyone considering getting a Great Dane It's important to me that she still cares about the puppy and his well being I know even five years down the line I could still call herShe enjoys all the pictures I send her and I feel we're real friends through our mutual love of this puppyI would definitely get another dog from her without any hesitation All and all this was a great experience

Not customer friendly - hard to get information re: puppy before getting it Breeder failed to uphold to contract/agreement to meet halfway to deliver puppy as originally discussed - changed plans less than hours before scheduled pick up If obtaining puppy from breeder - please make sure you are aware of puppy's healthOurs was very underweight/dirty/had tick in ear when obtained - reached out to breeder in my state for help/information Puppy now doing greatBe very careful

Please do not get your puppy here From day our male dane puppy had aggression issues We worked with him continuously with professional trainers, had him neutered, and worked with our family veterinarian When we contacted the breeder with our concerns about his behavior and had questions about his parents the breeder became defensive and reminded us we had a month temperament guarantee THIS IS A RED FLAG Most reputable breeders have no limit on a temperament guaranteeShe also tried to blame his aggression on vaccinations that he received After having him for a little over a year and his aggression gradually getting worse he has begun attacking our other smaller animals and has harmed them I am pregnant and know I cannot keep him in my home as much as it breaks my heart and my husbands We are now in the process of rehoming him and are having to travel to another state to transport him to his new home We have gone above and beyond all I know to do to get him help, and also to notify the breeder of a potential bloodline problem She has been very unhelpful with the situation and I would never want anyone to go through this again We love him so much and hate the situation we have been put in and that he has been put in Maybe this is a case of a freak accident and it'll never happen to anyone else with this breeder, but the whole attitude we were met with when we had questions was not helpful at all

I would definitely recommend Family Danes to friends and family (in fact, we already do at dog parks and wherever people ask about our beautiful Dane)
We got our first Great Dane from Family Danes, and had a wonderful experienceThey invited us to their house (we live about an hour away from Family Danes) to look at the puppies and pick out which one would be best for usThey also sent us cute pictures and updates of our dog along the wayJan was very nice and easy to work withWhen the puppy was old enough to be separated from the litter, she was delivered right to our houseShe is an irreplaceable member of our familyWonderful temperament, fun markings, and just a great dog
