I'm working with *** from Family Electric to figure out a resolution At this point a narrower box may not be possible so the ideal seems to be out of reach However, a smaller box is indeed available with only spaces (I only need 11) then there would need to be repair work to the wall If this happens I will consider the complaint resolved I'll be e-mailing with *** also

We're still trying to work something out I'm not happy with the only option given, but it may be the only one I get Hope to have things figured out by the end of the week

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] regarding this complaint. At this time the customer is emailing with the business in attempting to find a panel that fits the dimensions she is looking for. The issues with the size is that the standard panels at this time are no longer the size it was originally.

Review: I had Family Electric replace an old circuit panel in my home with a 100 amp main lug panel, this is the area I have an issue with. They also installed a new 70-Amp sub-panel, to replace an existing broken disconnect switch in the basement. And they ran a new washing machine circuit from the existing panel location.

I was told that there would be some drywall damage and I expected that but my issue is with the size of the new box and the quality of the work that was completed. The new circuit panel box does not sit flush on the wall, it's about an inch out from the drywall. I'm not okay with this. If I wanted to I can't patch the dry wall, because the tubing they put over some of the wires protrudes from the wall. Only 11 of the 24 spaces are used in the new box, and they drew lines from some spaces to another because they wrote on the wrong ones.

When I called and wrote to ask why the panel box was so large, not flush with the wall, and why the wires were sticking out I was told that I should build drywall out to the box and that they couldn't make that box flush. They told me I should value my safety over the look of the wall. After doing research I asked why a smaller panel wasn't used as there are many options. I was told I didn't ask for a smaller option or for it to fit perfectly in the wall and that I should again value my safety and that they stood behind their work. Of course I value my safety. When I hired them to do the job I believe they should have told me what the options were. I am not a professional electrician.. I didn't ask for the cheapest job, or just any panel box, I didn't know that asking for the best option for a project was something that I as the consumer had to do. They're the professional.

I was not here when they completed the work so my roommate paid them and they left. She said she knew it looked weird but didn't know what else to do. I also know they did not pull a permit for the work, so no one will come check it.Desired Settlement: I would like them to come fix the issue by putting a smaller panel in, making sure it's flush against the wall and making sure that no wire tubes protrude from the wall. Of course I still want it to be safe! If they refuse to fix it then I want a refund so that I can have someone else come fix it.
