I was seen by my doctor and mentioned I wanted contact lenses. I was speaking with the tech who stated I had to pay for the fitting and instruction portion which I was ok with. I then scheduled an appointment to see if I wanted to continue to use contacts. I did not like the contact lenses so I cancelled the appointment and all further purchase of the lenses. The lenses were charged to my insurance after I specifically stated I did not want them. Since family eye care charged my insurance I have to pay out of pocket to get new glasses, it seems family eye care is refusing to refund money to my insurance provider, leaving me stuck with old beat up glasses. My insurance provider has been notified and is doing what they can from there stand point. Every time I make contact with family eye care I get the run around on what is going on. We had to wait for a letter from them requesting a refund. They then adjusted the patient's acct to show the new dollar amount of accumulation and reinstated the CL benefit. Claim closed

On 5/29/14 I had my eye exam and picked out glasses to be made. On that day the office contacted my insurance company to see how much they pay for the exam and glasses. At this point I was asked to pay what I thought was the difference between the total and what the insurance would pay. I paid $292 but did not realize there was a $40 balance (my fault). Approximately 2 weeks later I picked up my glasses and the $40 was not mentioned. Two weeks after this I get the bill for $40 this was on 6/27/14 and the bill was dated 6/2/14. Some time around 7/27/14 I received a phone message stating that my insurance did not pay what they thought it would and I really owe $116 but I never received a written bill for this amount. On 8/13/14 I contacted the office to find out what was going on they said I owed the $116 because of a mistake made by someone there. I paid the $116. At this point I believe I was over charged at least $40 but since I only have my original receipt and the 1st bill for $40 I have no way of knowing how they came up with the $116 total.
