Family First Funding Reviews (10)

I purchased a home years ago in Pennsylvania, and worked with the staff in the PA Branch/Pocono Office to do my financing The transaction went smoothly and closed on time I have since then used them to do the refinance on the same property Again this transaction went smoothly as well Their communication and knowledge of the business is absolutely stellar and informative Even though I had some issues with appraisal and inspections This had nothing to do with the finance company With these issues they still managed a smooth and on time closingI have also referred over six friends and family members to this company and all have been 100% completely satisfiedThey come highly recommended

We are using Family First as our Mortgagee for our new homeThe first issue is that they sat on our application for weeks before submitting to underwriting then requested paperwork on a Friday, which needed to be returned within daysmeaning Sunday! This is paperwork and documents that were to be requested from the departments of companies that are not open on weekendsThey then told us that they would be pushing closing offWe have taken care of everything within hours if not minutes of their request, yet they keep finding a way to push off our closingWhen our appraisal came back they then requested a second onemost likely to push off our closingEvery time we find a way around their games to make sure the closing stays on track, they find another wayThis company is the biggest joke of a company I have ever had the "pleasure" of doing business withWE WILL NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER, USE THEM AGAINI am convinced that not a single employee of theirs possesses the skill of time management

I received communication from the sales person that the client was no longer pursuing the complaint and has since withdrawn the compliant.  Please advise.

I purchased a home 2 years ago in Pennsylvania, and worked with the staff in the PA Branch/Pocono Office to do my financing. The transaction went smoothly and closed on time. I have since then used them to do the refinance on the same property. Again this transaction went smoothly as well. Their communication and knowledge of the business is absolutely stellar and informative. Even though I had some issues with appraisal and inspections. This had nothing to do with the finance company. With these issues they still managed a smooth and on time closing. I have also referred over six friends and family members to this company and all have been 100% completely satisfied. They come highly recommended.

Review: My daughter and I have been supplying an unending amount of paperwork and information to this mortgage company in order to secure a refinance on my daughter's residence in Hunterdon County, NJ. Having received numerous e-mails from the company assuring us that our mortgage had been "approved" (copies of which I can supply if necessary), the company suddenly requested $12,000 to close the mortgage. Throughout the entire process, the company was aware that I was a non-occupant co-borrower on the loan having assured us that this was not an issue. On July 17, they incorrectly alleged that I was on the deed to my residence, when, in fact, it is my son and daughter-in-law (who does not have the same first name as me). They were using that excuse to request $12,000 from me. When that issue was finally clarified by me, I was then advised that due to the fact that I was a non-occupant co-borrower, they still needed the $12,000 in order to close the mortgage. When I asked if they wanted me to become an occupant in the property, I was told "no" and that they would be closing the file. I expended $150.00 earlier this week to comply with yet another request from them for "condo documents". I advised them at the inception of the application that I was not willing to expend any sum of money until we had a "firm commitment". I was led to believe that we had this "firm commitment" at the time that I ordered the so-called "final" documentation that they required. They advised today that they would not reimburse my money. I feel we have been misled since we have been totally honest with this company, supplying every paystub, tax return and all paperwork that they have requested. At times they requested the same paperwork twice from us and had us sign the same paperwork several times. There were approximately five people involved in our mortgage application and at times several of them would request the same paperwork from us.Desired Settlement: I no longer wish to do business with this company. They have misled us into believing that we were about to close our mortgage after supplying numerous paperwork to them over a period of several months. We have complied with their every request. I wish to be reimbursed for the $150.00 fee that I paid just this week in order to comply with one of their final requests for this so-called "firm commitment", which I was led to believe we had.
