I started dealing with R[redacted] (owner) at beginning of Nov..thought he was the real deal..did my tune up, then informed me I needed a ton of front end work..Did half the work in Nov (track bar, sway bar, inner/outer tie rod ends) then did the rest (upper and lower ball joints) in March where my truck incurred a 'clunk' in its front end which had never been before. Took it back, and there's where the problems started. My truck ended up sitting outside his compound for 2 plus days..I don't even know if anyone even looked at it..and what ticked me off to no end was NO phone call from the shop..I had to phone them to find out what was up..got ahold of R[redacted] on Friday around 3:30 when he got back from taking his birthday off and he said it was in and he was looking at it..would call me when he figured it out. No phone call..I called around 6 and no answer..called again, no answer..drove to his shop and my truck was parked in the same spot it was and compound locked up and noone around..I went home and emailed him, emailed his shop and finally texted the mobile number on the FB site around 8:30 friday nite...told him I needed my truck and he said to meet him Sat at noon to pick it up. I get there at noon on Sat, and everything is locked up and my truck still in same spot..I go home and text him at 12:30..he replies back at 1:30 saying he slept in and to give him 30 min and he'll meet me there..I go at 2pm and he's not there, but at least one of his mechanics was there to give me my keys..drive home..clunk still there...Take truck back to his shop the following week..he then phones to tell me it's my upper tie rod..Close to$300 later I pick it up and take it home..clunk is still there..by now, I've spent $1700 on my front end and it's worse sounding and driving than I've ever had it in my 13 years of owning my truck..I take it back the following week telling him I'm not happy..He gets defensive and now says it's my steering gear box and to bring it back in the following day to inspect yet again..I get there, he shows up at 9:30 and takes truck in for not even 10 minutes..pulls it back out, we drive it..clunk is still there, but not as bad as it was, but still there..still tells me I need my steering gear box replaced..and tells me he'll phone me with a price later that day...that was a week ago and still no word from him..I've had enough, I take it to another mechanic on the weekend..find out that the track bar Family Friendly Auto replaced in November wasn't tightened properly, so it had a LOT of movement which is where the clunk came from plus it was dangerous..With the fact R[redacted] never bothered to get back to me with a price (on yet another component which was NOT the problem as I found out later) gives me ZERO confidence in taking my truck, or any vehicle to this place ..so, I got the track bar replaced by another mechanic and it's driving spot on with no problems..I paid extra, but I'd rather do that then let him or the guys he has there replace it even on warranty..no confidence and tired of the games. On top of this, whoever did my tuneup in Family Friendly Auto back in November didn't even tighten on the air filter to the throttle body..I lost power last week, opened up the hood and the whole air filter system wasn't even attached..could just take if off like removing a box off a table..As well, when they redid my spark plug wires at said tuneup, they didn't clip them into place, thus, one wire had been sitting on the manifold and has been melted away which is giving my truck another 'miss'
Unbelievable..it's truly buyer beware as the mechanics and owner seem to really not care...But hey, I paid him 2k for his work so he should be happy...but rather than fix a problem he and his 'mechanics' caused, he ignores a person in hopes they go away...","neg-2

Complaint[redacted] 2011 [redacted] was passed to Family Friendly Auto manager, [redacted] in fully functional condition on Dec 08,2015 at 8AM. Agreed with [redacted] to perform timing belt kit, serpentine belt and tensioner replacement. The car supposed to be ready by the end of the day. No body called me on Dec 8.Dec 9 I called Family Friendly Auto. I was reported a technician mistake who disconnected a fuel line causing air to get into the system. The car was towed to [redacted] the same day to have the system bled.Dec 10 nobody called me. I called [redacted] around 4-5pm who told me that the dealer is holding the car and not responding to [redacted]'s calls. Dec 11 I called [redacted] who confirmed that the requested job was done on Dec 9 morning. System was bled but the car was not starting. Dealership confirmed mechanical timing problem and reported to Family Friendly Auto on Dec 9th. I called [redacted] who confirmed that car does not start and more repairs has to be done to the car at his shop. What exactly was wrong with the car and approximate time of repairs needed were not provided so I decided to take the car back to the dealership and let them finish the work. At this point [redacted] made me to pay his bill (152$) so he can release the car to me. Which was paid same day. Car was towed to [redacted] at my cost (70$).Dec 12 the dealership tech presented the cause of the problem to Family Friendly Auto mechanic and printed out official report. Dec 14 the car was repaired by [redacted] at cost of 877.26$. Damage to the car confirmed and caused by Family Friendly Auto. I requested to reimburse the funds from Family Friendly Auto. Request was rejected.According to the dealership report, originally requested timing belt kit, serpentine belt and tensioner was not replaced by Family Friendly Auto in full. Timing and serpentine belt were the only parts changed. Cost of initiated work for timing kit replacement will cost the owner (me) another 1000-1500CAD which recommended to complete ASAP.[redacted]Desired SettlementI would like Family Friendly Auto1. Refund 152CAD since they caused a damage to my car and I had to repair it at my own cost. 2. Compensate the costs of repairs done by [redacted] (877.26CAD). That was required because of the work performed by the mechanics at Family Friendly Auto.Original receipts and proof of damage cause related to Family Friendly Auto can be provided at any time.

Trying to charge more then original quote due to bad review posted by me. 6 hours job that turned into 8 days with still no car back.6 hour job turned into 9 days with job still not done and we were given excuses each time you call them because they won't call you even if they say they will. Was quoted at $50/hour shop time for 6 hour job and $250 for parts, which should total $550-$600. I made a bad review on their ** page out of frustration and anger due to still not having car back 8 days later. Due to the bad review they changed the price of the quote to $844 and that my car is now hostage till paid in full which is also changed since agreed upon payments were made. There is an extra $244 above quoted prices as well as an extra 7 days of car sitting there not being worked on. Desired SettlementI want the difference back from original quote and extra taking off due to extra 7 days of having to wait due to their screw up of one of their employees ordering wrong parts [redacted]

Very unprofessional. Was lied to and work was not even close to being completed. Stay away. Heard lots of bad things from others as well.","neg-1
