This complaint is a customer service, repair, sales and service issue. I contacted Family Heating and Air Conditioning in reference to my heater not working. They are very impressive with all the bells and whistles of texting and emailing me with the confirmation of the appointment, name and status of the service representative. When the technician arrived he was very cordial, he looked at my heater and advised me that the problem was with the control board and it would cost $1500. I advised him that I would have to call my home warranty, which then he quickly changed the price for, "Their special customers" to $966, A $534 difference. My home warranty spoke to him and he answered all their questions and ask me for a copy of my inspection to ensure this was not a prior problem, he left as the warranty people had to call me back after reviewing everything. I called another company not feeling safe, comfortable or trusting Family heating & AC, the new company came gave me a diagnostic and it was the POWER SWITCH that was bad, two days later they had the part and I'm sitting in my warm house with my heater working for only a couple of hundred dollars, less than $300. I totally disgusted and feel taken advantage of by Family heating & AC, is it because I'm a woman, or my nationality? It was bad enough that he was going to charge me $1500 then $966, but to totally lie about the repair just to get more money is despicable and an insult.
We reviewed our records of this service visit. From her letter, she appreciated our professionalism and how well she was treated. The furnace is over 25 years old. The technician should have written the full detail of why he suggested several components to ensure the life expectancy she should get without additional nuisance no heat visits and included the individual costs that equaled the total for the proper complete job to be done. The Draft power switch is part of the circuit that includes the control board as well as the ignitor and sensor. We have performed over 250.000 service repairs. These parts in this ignition circuit usually fail around the same time. From our experience, we "offer" all 4 of the components to prevent another problem and the customer was explained this in detail and choose to seek monies for all components from her warranty company. Unfortunately, these aged and deteriorated components not replaced will fail during the heating season.. As she mentioned we worked with her warranty company and did not receive any monies for our efforts and professional option. The warranty companies are not concerned with what is the correct thing to do but are trained to do the cheapest thing regardless of the outcome. There is no billing settlement as she noted. She did not pay for our services. There is no charge and no amount due. We are a high class, credible and very well educated company with over 35 years in the business. We wish her luck and I will direct the technicians to document the full service on our reports.--Thank You,Farrel S
Awesome service! They have a great service system and really respected my time. The tech was so confident and quick to diagnose, fairly price and complete the repair. they are far ahead in there business.
A friend recommended Family Heating & Air Conditioning. She said she was very happy with their service and price. I, having had a few bad experiences, was looking for a company I could trust to do what was needed to get my heat running without having someone pressure me about buying a new heater. My past experience..... they did just that!! Turned out, it was just a simple fix and I DID NOT need to replace it. Thank you!! I’d definitely recommend them!!!
