The insurance & quote was given prior to appt.Only to get a call after services performed to say they don't accept 2nd insurance&would bill higherInsurances were given in [redacted] 2015 and appointment set for my daughter to get an updated evaluation for braces. We had the appointment on [redacted] 2015 in which they re evaluated and put in spacers with an appointment set for Monday [redacted] 2015 to get her braces on.They gave me a print out with both insurances listed. Then called late in the day [redacted] to say it was wrong and the total would only be [redacted] total. Then called back total.a few minutes later to say it was incorrect again and they actually don't accept my insurance and it would cost [redacted] more even after an attempt to discount due to their mistake. I told them my insurance doesn't allow to switch once services start and I expected them to honor the quote with both insurances. They said they would ask the director and call back. An hour before the appointment on [redacted] after my daughter was already in pain over the weekend from the spacers, to say that was all they could do. I had no choice but to have her go to the appointment, as treatment already started.Desired SettlementI expect them to honor the fee with both insurances as they did not tell me until after services and treatment had started that I would be billed at the higher rate. While we understand the position of our patient, we do always encourage our patients to be well informed of their insurance benefits as well as providers contracted within their plan.The patient presented to the office and we did present a fee estimate that did not reflect the correct fee based on the insurance coverage. Once this error was noticed, the patient was contacted immediately and the error was corrected by offering a professional courtesy to the patient which at no point added no additional cost to the patient. The practice did acknowledge the error and apologized to the patient and parent for the confusion.We have offered to duplicate any and all records of the patient at no cost should there be a transfer request. Should there be any additional information needed, please do not hesitate to contact me. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)They contacted me after they had already performed services by placing spacers in my daughter's mouth and scheduling braces to be put on in 3 days.The error made WILL cost and additional [redacted] so this statement is false.with insurances it would cost 218. With their error even with professional courtesy, will cost an additional [redacted]I have the original with both insurances factored into the estimage in writing.if this cannot be honored both my daughter's records will need to be copied and sent to an orthodontist where both my insurances can be usedwe would unfortunately need to leave and they will lose 2 patients not one.
