Family Readers Club

We have been getting calls stating we owed over $500 for two magazine subscriptions. We did not order any magazines and have not received the magazines they claim we subscribed to. When we inform them of this, they harass us. They have had a Scott M who claims to be a lawyer from Baker and McKenzie of Los Angeles threatening us to collect. They insisted she provide a credit card number immediately.My wife informed them today that she would not pay and wanted all contact to stop. Mr. M then called back and I (***) spoke to Mr. M who informed me that he had my wife's voice recording authorizing the subscriptions and that the subscriptions had been renewed and that we now owed $1100. This is an absurd rate for (supposedly) 2 magazines. I refused to offer any form of payment demanding a written proof of everything he claimed. He hung up. He did leave a phone number with my wife of
