***purchased the business over years agoIt has ALWAYS been the practice of this shop tocharge a deposit for holding wedding dates and the deposit goes to the cost of the flower/rentals.It further has been the policy and practice not to refund wedding deposits.When a deposit is made that date is blocked outWe on ly do two weddings per dayThe shopends up turning weddings down because those dates are filledWhen a wedding is canceled alarge economic loss is incurred by the flower shopThe $dollar deposit comes no whereclose to making up the loss.*** states she called and talked with a receptionist concerning canceling the wedding dateand wanted a refundShe also states "I don' t remember him saying that I would lose my depositif I cancel"She also stated "she was going to file in Small Claims Court".First, EVERY bride/mother are informed of the fact that the deposit is NON REFUNDABLE ifthey cancel.Second we are threatened 'ith Small Claims Court so our argument will be saved for the Judge.Along with Ille brides we will us as witnesses stating they we told DEPOSITS ARENONREFUNDABLE.Third, we will introduce employees that will confirm our wedding policy.Fourth, if we did not have a NO REFUND policy brides/mothers would be booking dates withmore than one florist to be sure they had themselves covered if they wanted to change dates.There by stiffing one of the florist that has been turning prospective hrides/mothers away.Owner, Former Co-OwnerFormer Co-Owner

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I felt this letter was insulting. This entire thing could have been resolved if they would have just called me back in the first place as I was willing to work with them. I feel it was very poor business practice and the fact remains that we don't have anything in writing stating that they keep my deposit if we cancel. Since they don't want to work with me, I would like the deposit back.
