Review: On May [redacted] Family Tree Service came to my house to remove a tree. The price settled upon was for 300 with removal of the stump. I was informed that day that the stump was going to be removed on a different day. I only paid 140 and was going to pay the rest when the stump was removed. After not hearing back from the company for over 2 weeks I just assumed they weren't going to come to remove the stump. On June [redacted] I received a text from my tenant saying that someone was at my house looking to remove the stump. I asked her to tell them that I would be home in a 1/2 and hour if they wanted to wait but since it was not a scheduled service I felt no need to rush home, I was just getting out of the doctor for my 3 year old son. To my surprise my tenant told me that they were already in my yard working. I asked how that was possible considering I leave my gate locked and she doesn't have a key to it. She told me she wasn't sure but that she would keep an eye on them. She later explained to me that they took the bolt off of my fence to get in. When I called Family Tree Service, I spoke to a women. I explained to her that someone from her company just broke into my yard and if there were any damages they were going to pay for it. I also asked her why I was never given a call to let me know someone was coming. She gave me the bosse's number to take the matter up with him. When I spoke to [redacted], the owner, his response was "well we were under obligation to finish the contract and I didn't think it was a big deal, which I guess it was." When I asked him if he realized that I could have his employees arrested for breaking and entering and trespassing, because I never gave them permission to come into my yard, he just said again "well I didn't think it was a big deal. I guess it was" When I told him I wasn't paying the bill until I could have my gate inspected he said "yeah ok you could just mail me a check". Not only 2 days later I received a bill for the full balance due, 160. No calls, no inquire to the the state of my fence. Which does has some minimal damage. Also they failed to put back a cinder block which my son tripped over and got hurt. I find the fact that they think it's ok to break into someone's yard disgusting. I never received an apology and got an attitude from both [redacted] and the women I spoke to.Desired Settlement: I feel the bill should be reduced or zeroed for damages and for my trouble. I also want people to be aware that this company has no problems breaking and entering and trespassing. They should be avoided at all costs.

On May **, 2013 we worked at the above address. At that time we removed a tree in the backyard of the above property. Work was not completed on that same day, we did not finish removing the stump and advised the homeowner we would be back at a later date to remove the stump.

When we went back to remove the stump we rang the bell told the person who answered the door that we were there to grind the stump. That person said ok but they did not have the key to the gate so we had to dismantle the fence to make room for the stump grinder. When the stump was completed we reassembled the fence.

While we were in the process of grinding the stump the homeowner came home and expressed her deep concerns with the way we do business.
