Family Vision Reviews (1)

Review: I went to this establishment to purchase a pair of glasses and to get an eye exam. I was informed that I should go with progressive lenses because I am near and far sighted. When the progressive lenses were finished I was told to come in for an adjustment before I was able to take the glasses. I proceeded to say I could not see well with them and I was informed that I needed time to get used to them I took a glasses home for less than a week and wore them at work and at home and I could not see with them. I informed them that I was taking the glasses of at work because I could not see and I was tripping over my own feet. I brought them back and was given another eye exam, after it was completed and I said which prescription I was able to see with it was agreed that they would take the glasses that I would only be given distance vision glasses since progressive lenses did not work for me and that my glasses needed to be adjusted or fixed. After 5 days I was told that the glasses were in and that I should come back in to pick them up. I put the glasses on when I arrived and said I could see perfectly with them. I asked if I was going to get a refund since I did not have the progressive lenses anymore and they had said no I will not receive a refund. I said how can I not get a refund but I do not have what I originally purchased 10 days earlier. Progressive lenses are significantly more expensive and I could not see with them. They said that is their policy and that I should complain to the owner which I did originally. I feel this is poor practice and I feel as though I should be able to get the difference refunded since I do not have I was originally purchased. I feel it was the opticians mistake and not mine giving me progressive lenses especially since when I first went there to get them I had said right away that I could not see with the glasses and they told me to go home and get used to them.Desired Settlement: I would like the difference refunded.

November 21, 2014Hello [redacted],I am happy to take this time to write a letter of rebuttal to the Revdex.com. I operate the eyecare business where this person obtained no line bifocal eyeglasses that she was not happy with. This was not a strictly cash transaction – [redacted] eyecare insurance was utilized, and being in the complaint business am sure you're familiar with this nationwide vision care insurance plan.In a real sense our participation is as a field contractor for [redacted] for eye exams and eyeglasses or contact lenses.[redacted] came to our location and spoke about being unhappy with her previous eyecare provider so we did the best to measure for new no line multifocal eyeglasses that she had to pay a share of - and her actual cost was based on [redacted] pricing structure. With her type eyeglass product – [redacted] provides for a remake of the eyeglasses if there's difficulty and we did do that for her according to her wishes for better driving vision; but [redacted] insurance does not provide any mechanism for returning or refunding money for product charges that got redone into a lower price point final lens product. I think it’s a whole issue of dollars unrecoverable that is the point of the conflict here,So that's where we stand.I think [redacted]'s complaint should be directed more at [redacted] insurance, I know for a fact that the nationwide [redacted] plan has reloaded exam benefits for other people in the past in case there's friction between doctor office and patient, and I think maybe even they've reloaded product benefits for unhappy patients in the past – but I have never known them to authorize refunds for prescriptions that did not meet patient expectations as is the case here (as I said they simply allow a one time lens re-do).Hope this clears up the questions about what's happened here in [redacted]. Please note our new correct street number for your system.Sincerely,Dr. Paul S
