Review: I went to get a perm done on Sat., March 16, 2013. When I was there I stated my neck was hurting and I was told it was a little red, probably from the perm solution. The employee who did my perm, I feel, obviously was not changing the cotton like she should. It was soaked and the solution was running all down my neck. I told her once the cotton was all wet and wouldn't stay under the rods. I did not know this could happen or I would have insisted she change the cotton. She is the professional, she should have know the solution can burn someone's neck this bad. That night my neck was killing me and the next day in the morning at church, I lifted my hair to have my friend look because it was hurting very badly and she said "Oh my goodness, it looks like you have a rash all over the back of your neck." Obviously, it was a chemical burn from the perm I received. I have gotten a perm every two years (to three at the most sometimes) of my life since I was 16 and I am 38 and I have never once had this problem. It is now Wed., March 20th and my neck still hurts. It has improved some, but is still sore. I called the doctor and I am considering going to see the doctor about it. I spoke to the manager. She apologized, but offered no compensation what so ever. She told me it is best to use cold compresses. When I stated I feel I should be reimbursed, she gave me the customer service number to call and said they would handle it. I called and they did a complaint, but wouldn't offer any solution right then. They said I will get something in the mail. I am upset b/c I feel the manager was making excuses saying I must have "sensitive skin" and "these things happen" and "there is nothing she could have done differently." Yes there is! She could have not let solution run all over my neck and changed the cotton, rinsed my neck, etc. She is the professional and knows what can happen. I even took pictures and showed them to the manager. I am very dissatisfied with this whole situation.Desired Settlement: I feel they need to pay my doctor visit and any fees I am responsible for and any medications I am prescribed. I feel I need to go b/c my neck is still very sore, is bothering me, and it has been 5 days since this perm. I feel I should be reimbursed for this perm because I should not have been having a sore neck and in pain after getting a perm, especially for 5 days and counting. I feel I should receive some type of additional compensation for having to deal with this pain and awful burn.
