Famous In Real Life Reviews (%countItem)

If I could give negative stars I would. Ordered a shirt, took a month to ship (Covid I get that) but I never got the shirt!!! Maurice'na, pretty much told me I a SOL and to figure it out my self. But I was offered a discount on a future purchase.
This place is a joke, I am sure this happens a lot, stay away!! There are plenty of companies that make good shirts.

Shipping was way longer than stated-they confirmed w/me via email I wanted to cancel and shipped anyway. Won't pay for me to ship back for refund.
I placed the order and it says 4-8 days. It was to be given at a bday party. On day 9 it still hadn't shipped and I knew I wouldn't get it for the party. I emailed in to them and they wrote back confirming I wanted to cancel. I said yes. Then a few days later they ship it anyway. I had to go buy a different bday gift and no longer need this anymore. Money is tight. I asked for a call tag so I could ship the shirts back...because to make matters worse the sizes were XL and X but they are more like a size small. They refused to pay to ship these back and I feel like I shouldn't have to when it was their error and I am the customer. I find it hard to believe if I did pay myself to ship these back at this point if they would even process the refund. I just want them to pay to ship these back and refund me please. They can't treat customers this way.

Desired Outcome

I would like them to pay for me to ship these back and refund me.

Hi ***, as you may have noticed when shopping our products are currently delayed due to changes made to protect our employees and partners during the pandemic. This is described with a bright green notification on our website visible to all viewers. Additionally, we explain that our women's t-shirts fit small and we suggest ordering at lease a size up. This information is available in the description of every product. We also have a size chart that has exact dimensions available for each garment. Lastly, our customer service team has offered you a return label so that you can send your unwanted items back for a full refund contrary to your claim in this review. I hope this helps.

Very discouraged by lack of customer service

This company has the worst customer service I have ever been subjected too. They take forever to get back to you, will not call you or talk to you by phone. No one at customer service will give you their name so there is no accountability.

I told customer service that I needed to exchange/return my order via UPS. They gave me a street address to do just that. After 1 1/2 weeks I tracked the package only to find out it was being returned to me.

I then contacted customer service again and received no reply. I then contacted them via FB and did receive a reply. The agent on FB would not give me their name, the name of the owner or manager or any other help other than I would have to contact customer service via e-mail. They will not allow you to call them.
I would not do business with this company again. I found that they left a very foul taste in my mouth.

Hi ***, I am terribly sorry for any confusion. After reviewing your case it appears that we made a special exception for you to be able to return your item in a different way since you were unable to send your package to our PO box like every other customer. These special instructions we attempted to provide unfortunately had an error. When you reached out to us on Facebook we explained that you would need to reach out to customer service for assistance as we cannot offer customer service through FB messenger. You still have not contacted customer service to fix this situation. If you can go ahead and reach out to them per instruction in those Facebook messages, or by emailing us as ***@famousinreal.life, or by using the contact form on our website, somebody will certainly be able to help you.

Never received item. USPS tracking stated item was delivered but was not. USPS could not locate item. Company refused to refund or resend purchase.
Purchased item on 12/3/19 from company. Received an email stating order was being processed that same day. Ultimately received an email on 12/10/19 stating that order was on the way and that tracking number was attached however it was not and after clicking on link I was simply sent to a receipt of my order. After a week I contact customer service on their website (via email as unable to speak to anyone via telephone) and received a response on 12/18/19 with the actual tracking number stating that my item had been delivered. I clicked on the tracking number which stated that my item was delivered on 12/15/19. That date is a Sunday and USPS has never delivered any mail to our apartment complex on a Sunday. I live in an enclosed apartment complex which requires a key code for entry. All packages go into a locked closet and are put there by USPS. I also checked with all other tenants and no one received our package by mistake. I checked with our apartment manager and they had not seen the package and the package was not in the few boxes assigned to temporarily vacant apartments. Therefore, I then contacted USPS who stated that they were unable to locate my package and because insurance had not been ordered on the shipment they could not help me further. I contacted the company and they were initially helpful and stated in an email from 12/20/19 that they were looking into refunding my purchase or sending me a new order at no charge. After the Christmas and New Year holidays I reached back out to the company because I had not heard anything. I was then notified that they would not offer a refund or a reshipment "per their policy" because the tracking number showed that the package was delivered. I left a 1 star review on their website however you cannot see this because the company removed it after I placed the review.

Desired Outcome

I asked for either a replacement shipment or a refund. I was granted neither. I was hopeful to receive these items and tried to give the company every benefit of the doubt but now I am not sure that I will get anything back from the company and want to warn future customers. My only next course of action is to reach out to my credit card company to dispute the charges.

Well,
I actually need to rescind the complaint. This is very odd I am aware however the day after filing the complaint I actually received the package in the mail. This is several weeks after it was supposedly delivered and after several communications with USPS who stated that they had no idea where the package was. I assume the package somehow turned up and so they delivered it. Anyway, I couldn't find a way to do this on the website. I am so terribly sorry for this and I thought I had waited the appropriate amount of time however I guess I should have waited one more day ...

Never received order.
I place an order with Famous in Real Life on Saturday 11/23 for $216.75. I received an order confirmation, but have not received anything since. I contacted on November 29th asking about the order and when I would receive a shipping confirmation. They responded with - you will receive a shipping confirmation by 12/2. Today is 12/9 and still nothing. I have reached out two more times with no response. I have contacted AMEX to dispute the charge.

Desired Outcome

I need to either receive what I order this week or I want a refund.

An unexpected issue occurred from our fulfillment provider. Customer has been refunded

I placed two separate orders with this company, one on 3/5/19 and one on 3/10/19. The shipping information when checking out clearly states "approx. 3-7 Days". These items were purchased for a specific purpose and event, occurring on 3/17/19 (within the approximate shipping time frame on both orders). I was highly disappointed to have not received the items until 3/23/19 (6 days later!!!). In addition, both orders arrived on the same date, which is obviously well after the published approximate shipping time frame. The company's response is that there is fine print (located after clicking on some small links on the checkout page and at the very bottom of the homepage of their website) about additional days being needed to create and print the items before they ship. This is far from obvious to the consumer and could easily be perceived as deceptive. I felt very much deceived and manipulated by the company (advertising the shipping dates in an obvious manner, while masking the additional days hidden in policies masked by links or shown way at the bottom of the website, but not on the product page specifically or check out screen). The company has credited the shipping cost on one order only, stating that they wouldn't do the same for the other order because the house number on the other order was off by a single digit. After contacting my local postmaster, it was determined that the house number error caused no delay in delivery whatsoever, as the house number did not exist as an address, and based on their knowledge of my name and address, they were able to correct on the spot without delivery delay on their part. I want to return my items, but I am not confident they will credit me properly, and wish for upfront return shipping compensation. I am frustrated with the company's inability to understand the customer's experience while simply quoting and sending screen shots of policy, etc. HORRIBLE customer experience!
Product_Or_Service: T Shirts
Order_Number: XXXXX & xxxxx

Desired Outcome

Refund The only fair outcome is for me to return the items without having any net financial impact as the deceived and frustrated consumer. I have asked for a refund on the shipping cost for the other item that was not credited and was refused. Also, having lost confidence in the company in general, I would like to be able to return the items to the company and be compensated fully for the return shipping up front. Anything less then full net compensation is unacceptable.

Hi, this customer is very mistaken and did not take the time to read our website. Additionally, he provided an incomplete address for one of his orders and both of the orders were placed after our cutoff date for St. Patrick's Day deliveries which was clearly described on our website.

He is correct that when selecting a shipping option during checkout it says 'approximately 3-7 days' however clearly explained in the footer of every page, in the description of every single product, in our FAQ page, and our return policy, we state that production for our t-shirts will take between 1-5 business days prior to shipping. Of course, these are all estimates and by no means a guarantee. We offer over 80k products in our store, and everything is printed to order. This is a very common business practice, and I invite you to visit our website to see for yourself how thoroughly we explain this and how readily available this information is. This information is not 'hidden in the fine print behind links' as the customer is suggesting.

Additionally, this customer ordered St. Patrick's Day themed products and was hoping for them to arrive before the event. For special holidays like this we actually do guarantee delivery but the cutoff was 3/3/19 so during the time that he ordered, we had a bright green overlay on our site which clearly explained that it was too late for us to ensure that orders would definitely arrive by 3/17 (this was impossible to miss, and I have provided a screenshot of what it looked like).

As a courtesy, we refunded his cost of shipping even though the orders were fulfilled and delivered to the best of our ability. He has also received return instructions. He has been extremely rude to my customer service team and they have done everything in their power to help him. The products were delivered within the timeframes estimated on our website therefore we will not be paying him to ship the shirts back if he does not want them. Upon receiving his return, we will happily provide proper credit.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The above response from Famous In Real Life is personally offensive and contains several false statements.

First of all, I am not "very mistaken" in regards to this situation. I would first of all like to clear of two issues: one around the incorrect address and one around St. Patrick's Day merchandise.

1. ADDRESS: As I already mentioned to both the Revdex.com and Famous In Real Life, the incorrect house number was a non-issue, as verified by the local postmaster. The change in one single digit (from 308 to 307) was made on the spot during delivery and cause no delay whatsoever. The company continues to hide behind this and refused to refund the delivery charge on this order due to this non-issue.

2. ST. PATRICK'S DAY: Please let me be clear that I did not purchase St. Patrick's Day merchandise, although the company continues to mention this to me and now to the Revdex.com. My two shirts are not Irish, do not have St. Patrick's Day symbols, letters, words, etc. I'm confused and even further frustrated by this notion that it was St. Patrick's Day merchandise. One happens to be printed on green material, but that's about as close as it gets. I did have an event on the 17th with the purpose in mind of using these shirts, but frankly what that event is and how it is entirely not related to St. Patrick's Day is of no business of this company. Perhaps this is why I didn't experience a "green overlay" with additional shipping information? I don't know why, I just know there was no overlay on the two occasions I utilized their site on my phone through instagram.

Also, I realize the company has legally sufficient footers and links to policies, but it is unreasonable and unacceptable to proudly promote "approx. 3-7 days" for shipping estimates while hiding additional information and lack of guarantees elsewhere. on the check out screen without any other prominently displayed mention of estimates. My deliveries took exactly 18 and 13 days. Any reasonable consumer would not accept 18 or 13 days given a 3-7 day advertised estimate. I understand their process and "normal business practice" is explained in fine print and on footers, and although may provide them legal protection, is not ethical or fair treatment to the consumer.

Furthermore, the following two issues have caused me even greater concern lately:

1. Famous In Real Life, although describing me as "extremely rude," has not responded to any of my email inquiries since 3/26. I will not apologize for being direct in my messaging, but the email trail clearly shows that I was not "rude" or "extremely rude" in any way. In fact, the opposite could be said when policy and screenshots of "footers" and "policy" were responses.

2. I completed a "one star" review (with explanation) on the Famous In Real Life website. I received the email to verify my review and completed that step. However, 24 hours later this review cannot be found on their website...only "five star" reviews can be seen. This is yet another deceptive practice that correlates to how this company apparently conducts business.

In conclusion, I am asking for the following:

1. Immediate refund of shipping on the 2nd order (the one described above with the inconsequential wrong house number)

2. Refund of shipping for the return of both items, provided up front (with a trackable method).

3. Refund of the full price of the items upon receipt.

As I review my issue holistically, my requests are not unreasonable, and I look forward to hearing back very soon from both the Revdex.com and Famous In Real Life on the resolution of this matter.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Due to the company's inability to respond timely to my direct requests either through email or through this form, they have forced me to pay for return shipping up front for both orders. I feel manipulated into paying for return shipping by Famous In Real Life by their inability to respond, yet adding to my negative experience with the company. This in inexcusable. The cost of shipping is $8.00 through USPS. A refund (NOT store credit) of this $8.00 return shipping cost would be needed in order to close this complaint from my end as the consumer. I look forward to the day when I will not have to deal with or correspond with Famous In Real Life once I am made financially whole by this situation.

We also wanted to follow up on this customer's concerns over his one star review not being published. The customer claimed the following;

""I completed a "one star" review (with explanation) on the Famous In Real Life website. I received the email to verify my review and completed that step. However, 24 hours later this review cannot be found on their website...only "five star" reviews can be seen. This is yet another deceptive practice that correlates to how this company apparently conducts business.""

For reviews to become verified on our website, the reviewer must provide a valid email address which then sends them a verification email. The review also needs to include a valid order number. In this instance, the customer failed to provide either which is why the review was suppressed.

We were unable to find any reviews that included any of this customer's known email address or order numbers. Attached is a screenshot of the only negative review received during the last week two weeks which went unverified. On March 27th, a customer by the name of "*** C." left a one star review titled "Bad Experience" using the email address "***@example.com" and order number "N/A". This review was unable to be verified due to the fact that the email address provided was invalid and failure to include a valid order number. Without these things, it would be impossible to have "received the email and verify my review and completed that step." as the customer claims.

To further discuss the customer's concerns, we do not suppress negative reviews if they are verified. The main reason why the vast majority of our reviews are 4 and 5 stars is because most customers are extremely please with their order experience.
