When Ms.*** brought her dog, ***, to be groomed he was already squinting his eyeWe told her when she picked him up that he had been squinting all day and her response was that he had been like that his whole life and that she would massage the eyelid the other direction so the hair
would not aggravate the eyeballMs*** seemed happy with our service as she booked another appointment and tipped 10$ for the groomingI was shocked when she called the following day blaming us for the eye issues he had clearly had his whole lifeWhen she accused us of razor burning her dog I explained that we do not use clippers on that area of the face therefor razor burn was impossibleAfter many threats from Ms*** I realized the conversation was going nowhere and that she just wanted someone to pay her vet billWe in NO way hurt or injured her dog and are not responsible for the vet billsFurthermore I would recommend contacting the treating veterinarian, Dr*** *** ***, who I am sure will confirm to you that this in no way was our fault.Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns ***. I am rejecting this response because:Mrs*** is incorrect about the veterinarian that *** is being seen byI went to a different vet once I was made aware of the conflict of interest, since the first vet (Dr***) and his wife are friends with the groomerDr*** prescribed medications, none of which worked. I am attaching a report from Dr*** *** *** ***This report states that the corneal ulcer appears to be caused by a puncture wound to the eyeI just saw this vet again today and there will be definite vision loss, and it is not healing correctlyWe will be seeing a specialist in order to try and save the eye if it has not healed anymore by next weekRight now we are dealing with a bulging eye due to the tissue damage.
I did make another appointment with the groomer and I did tip $because the cost was over $lower than any other groomer he has been toI did not know that I should be concerned about his eye at the time and was distracted by having to write a check instead of using a card so I did not pick him up to carry him or look at himHe was on the ground as I walked him out, and I did not see his eye closely until I got home with himI will be asking for my money back for the groom as well as the vet bills once I have a final number for the claim that I am filing. My dog has been going to a groomer every months for his entire life and has never had an issue until he was taken to this groomer.
