On August 8, 2017, my wife and I responded to *** and *** ***'s residence at *** ** *** *** in Edgerton, Kansas to address a counter top issue that they felt needed to be addressed immediately After several text messages from both *** and *** I asked my wife to accompany me as she
had once prior When we arrived they were both nice but appeared anxious The first thing *** showed me was the counter top by the right hand side of the stove was un-level by 1/2" We then pulled out the stove and when I looked under the cabinet the bracket had been removed and one of the shims was missing which caused the back side of the counter top to dip down causing the un-levelness The front side brackets that I had installed were not attached to the counter top which would have brought it down to within tolerance I asked him why the brackets were off and *** advised that he loosed them I then told him "I can fix it" and proceeded to go out to get my long level While I was gone, *** poured water on the cabinet to show my wife it was un-level When I returned I began to check the counter top all the way around and *** then said "This is unacceptable and that *** not work" I then told them both stearnly that "I *** fix it" This is when *** stood in front of his wife and said "don't talk to my wife, talk to me" and pointed his finger at my face I then said stearnly "I have had a bad day and bad week" and then *** stepped even closer to me and became even more angry I then said "We're Done" and my wife was also motioning for us to leave at that time until the situation became more calm I took my level and began to walk towards the front door and *** was right behind me yelling at me My wife was directly behind him and *** was behind her As I walked out and down the ramp towards my truck *** continued to yell at me *** paused on the deck and my wife went around him and was also walking to the truck behind me This is when *** literally ran down the ramp around my wife and charged me when I was almost to my truck I turned around and he "chest butted me" and continued to yell and curse stating he already made the final payment and I was just taking his money He then told me to leave his property and I continued to walk towards my truck and he was continuing to escalate and was threatening me My wife came down just as he drew his right hand back and said "I *** give you a new set of dentures" That is when my wife stepped in between us and and told me to go get in the truck as she was placing her right hand on ***'s chest trying to keep him away from me He kept yelling, threatening and cursing as she was doing this and also kept hitting her arm away trying to get closer to me He hit her arm 3-times and I couldn't get in the truck on the driver's side I then proceeded to go to the passenger side while my wife was attempting to keep *** away from me but he broke free and ran around the back of my truck with my wife still in tow I was able to get into the passenger side seat but couldn't close the door because he made it to the door before I could get it closed My wife was able to again get him away from the truck door and I closed and locked it *** was still yelling outside the door and my wife kept directing him to the front of the truck She was then able to get into the driver's seat and we left there very hurriedly I had every intention of fixing any of the problems that they felt they had but after being assaulted and my wife being battered and we were told to leave the property and not come back, I *** NOT be returning to adjust any of the small items that they wanted resolved This would have taken me about an hour or less to get everything buttoned up It should also be noted that on the plumbing portion of this kitchen remodel, *** would not follow the setting up instructions of materials, which caused me to have to do extra work because of the noncompliance of this customer He also was picking up the counter tops after they were glued and did not give proper time for them to adhere as I continually kept them informed and gave instructions for the proper installation of items It should also be noted that there were several other contractors that started the process of this remodel but would not return for reasons unknown It also should be noted that my contract was with *** *** and not *** *** as they were in the process of divorcing when this contract was signed *** changed several items that had already been ordered and agreed upon with ***, who was the contracted party For example, *** made changes such as the laminate, the color and the profile of the counter tops which had already been ordered and therefore I was not able to use the original templates that had been ordered through ***'s She then ordered the wrong cabinet design because a change order was made for additional cabinets She had several long conversations with Assistant Manger *** at the Olathe ***s, which is what a contractor that has been hired should be doing rather than the client trying to negotiate with a supplier.I *** not be reimbursing this claim I have also attached the police report that was made with the Douglas County Sheriff's Department showing me as the victim of an Assault and my wife being the victim of a Battery No contractor should have to deal with any people that are threatening them with bodily harm and then asking for a reimbursement.Thank you,*** ***Owner/Contractor

I am rejecting this response because:The claims against myself are and unjustified.X-treme Restorations was asked too come out too our home too go over multiple mistakes and errors.When my wife calmly explained that the mistakes where not an easy fix,thats when MrS*** turned verbally violate against my wife,Then after redirecting his anger away from my wife towards myself is when I felt physically and verbally attacked myself.We feel that sinse MrsS*** was not apart of the Hired remodeling job and was only brought over as an intimidation factor (Being an Police Officer)which was made known too us by Mr.S*** multiple times that she has no qualified input on the repairs that are needing too fix MrS***s errors.We have multiple estimates on what it is going too cost too repair and replace the kitcken items that not installed correctly by Licensed Contractors.The charges filed against myself is a deterrent too keep X-Treme Restorations from owning up too there poor quality of work that was done.

Good morning [redacted], I am requesting that you reopen this complaint and show our response as "criminal charges have been filed against Mr. [redacted] in Douglas County District Court".  I have attached a copy of the Complaint and also the case number of the criminal charges that have been filed.  Our business was willing to complete the repair work that Mr. [redacted] was not happy with initially and this complaint would have been null and void, but when he committed a person crime against my husband and myself this will now not occur and it should be noted as said before that no contractor should have to put themselves in harm's way with a client that becomes violent towards the contractor.  We will not subject our personal safety to complete these simple repairs that he is wanting a refund for and it should also be noted that these simple repairs do not add up to the amount of what Mr. [redacted] is requesting to be reimbursed.  If any cost to complete these minor repairs are incurred it would be a very minimal amount at best.  We are requesting that our Revdex.com Accreditation Score be placed back to an A+ rating as we feel that this complaint has put an undo bearing on my husband's business credentials and the allegations are being seen as a detriment to future business potential for our company. Thank you for revisiting this complaint,  Ilena [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:The responce from X-Treme Restorations is complete false.My wife and I had tried for a week for [redacted] too come and fix all of his poorly executed work.When [redacted] and his wife did finally show up they both had a bad attitude and didn't want too hear myself or my wife's complaints.The counter top right of the stove was 1/2 inch lower in the back than in the front and was only being held in place by one 1/4 inch L bracket and the grout on the wall.A 2x4 was secured underneath the counter top but was 1/2 below the underside of the counter top.When I pointed this out too [redacted] he replied "You guys are Just magnifying things.And that his counter tops at his home where not level either,like that made it ok for us too except.He then stated that it would be an easy fix by lowering the front down.My wife stated that would not work because that would make the righr side counter top 1/2 higher than the right.Before she could finish her sentence [redacted] rose up off the floor with a wooden level in his right hand and violently stated "Listen here!Ive had a BAD day"!That when I stepped infront of my wife and informed [redacted] he was not going too talk too my wife in this manner and he needed too address me.[redacted] then came around the pulled out stove with a presumed weapon in his right hand and said"Ok ill take at you then!"With his finger pointing in my face.Thats when I decided they where not welcome on our property anymore and proceed too escort both [redacted] and his (Police officer)wife off our property.During the whole time [redacted]s kept shoving me with her hand in my chest and telling [redacted] too just stop and get in the truck.X-Treme Restorations had no problems with taking our money but could not bear too have his sloppy work pointed out too him.We now have too pay another contractor with skills too fix all the mistakes [redacted] and his unskilled laborers did too our kitchen.We [redacted] be seeking a refund for repairs needed.
