Farmer Custom Remodeling

I contracted with Mr Farmer to build a garage for me at my home. I asked for copies of credential and insurance. He told me that they were being printed and he would bring me copies This was around Feb 6, 2020. He wrote a contract and required a substantial down payment of $10000. Insisted he needed the money to buy materials. On Thursday February 13, he called and said he needed the payment immediately. On Friday, he picked the cashiers check up and said he would be away for the next week. Jim and I drove by his house the following Monday and he had bought a large quantity of materials for an addition to his home. He was very nervous as he was caught in a lie. We became suspicious. Jim and I asked for our money back. He said someone didn't pay him so he could not repay us. After repeated emails and texts that were all lies, we started searching and Mr Farmer had a very bad history of moving around a lot and was not licensed nor insured.

Furthermore our search found 2 previous homeowners that have had issues with Mr Farmer. He lied and does not own the property on *** Road in *** SC.
