I often end up with scrap gutters from jobs, and other metals that I sell for extra income
Today 6-23-I visited Farnsworth Metal Recycling
As I usually do, I get a really close weight from personally weighing materials I intend to cash in
I had nearly lbsof scrap aluminum, in gutters, sheet aluminum and downspouts
The weigh station has a person physically writing the gross weight of vehicle and contents down
Upon arrival, and weighing, we received our handwritten ticket, emptied our scrap, went back to scale and reweighed
We were informed immediately that our tare weight showed only lbs., as if the weigh station person knew something was wrong, and when I immediately disputed the weight they quickly offered to "give" us lbstare instead of the they "had " figuredI know they got us for a minimum of lbs., which at only per pound don't seem like a lot but , we are trying to legally make a decent living and big corporations raking in the dollars should not be "screwing" the little guys
They should be made to install a weight indicator visible to the customers
They are crooks and they know it
Insist on customer availability of weight readings
