FAS Windows & Doors Reviews (10)

FAS is well known around this area, so I called them to see if they could help me with replacement windows The salesman who came out showed me a type of window I had never heard of, but he knew what he was doing, they are perfect There was a problem with the installation, one window was the wrong size, but FAS handled the problem quickly and was intent on making sure everything was just as I wanted it I love the windows and I am very impressed with all the people who work at this company

In November we had a house fire and decided to replace all of the windows because they were over years old We visited the Winter Park showroom and replacement salesman, Stuart E***, answered some of our questions but was not overly helpfulHe asked us to send measurements of all window openings so he could give us an estimateWe sent measurements the very next day and have never received a reply I called once and resent the measurements and have not heard a word from FAS in the months since then We ended up using [redacted] and replaced all of our windows, spending over $45,with [redacted] Too bad that FAS doesn't have better customer serviceBig loss for them

They were very professional and did a wonderful jobThey installed my windows over a one week period with little disruption to my household functionsLove these windowsI had one window which ended up with a minor problem and they came back quickly and solved the issue

I am really disappointed with FAS Windows & DoorsOn April 21, 2015, my partner and I had an FAS Sales Representative come by our house to give a quote on replacing about twenty five windows and two doorsHe was absolutely amazing, super personable, and gave a great presentationWe were so impressed by the product that we signed right there with the understanding that I needed to have everything installed by June 1, 2015, because I hired a painter that was starting then and was having an alarm installed once the painting was complete
With June 1, fast approaching I decided to reach out to FAS on May 27, 2015, since I did not hear anythingI left a message and received a call back a few days later and to my disappointment they were not able to get my installation scheduled until June 11, and advised that it would take five days to get everything installedWhen they arrived they began the installation and found that nine out of the twenty five windows that I ordered were measured incorrectly and that they would have to reorder themThey installed everything else with the exception of the nine windowsI immediately called FAS and was advised that it will take a couple of weeks to get my windows in, but that they would try to put a rush on itI told them that this was delaying my painter from completing the job and delaying the installation of my alarm and that I need the windows done asapI was advised that they will try their bestI asked about compensation and was advised that they will notate my account, but they usually do not determine what compensation will be issued until after the job is complete
Today is July 9, 2015, nearly three months after my initial order and I still have not heard from FAS about the estimated installation date on my remaining nine windowsAdditionally, I have nine of the wrong windows sitting in my garage since June 11, 2015, with no word from FAS on when they will be removing these from my propertyI just called and left a voicemail and will hopefully hear back soonI will say that FAS offers a good product, but I am so very disappointed in their serviceI got quotes from seven different window companies that all guaranteed me that they could get my windows done on timeI decided on FAS and am regretting my decisionAlthough I like the product, their service recovery is horribleI would not recommend FAS to anyone

Their pricing was great.
Their office staff were professional.
The installers knew their stuff, showed up on time and went above and beyond during and after the install to make sure we were thrilled with everything.
Couldn't recommend these folks enough!

An update to my last post. Instead of trying to correct the issue the sales manager calls me today. He says they saw my post, cancelled the order, and cancelled my financing. Istead of trying to take care of a customer this is the action they take. I just wasted an entire month based on lies and false promises. I would not recommend them. Be cautious about promises from the sales person for FAS. It seems that he will promise you things they can't deliver on to make the sale. We are remodeling a room due to termite damage. Everything is framed and waiting for the new windows and the sliding glass doors. One of our biggest concerns when getting estimates was how long it would take to manufacture and install the windows because all the other construction is on hold until this piece is complete. Phillip K[redacted] from FAS comes to our home on 7-16-16. He sounds knowledgeable, convinces us that his product is worth the price they are charging(second highest estimate from 5 companies), and tells us he can have the windows in 6 to 8 weeks. He says he will personally follow through to insure we get them quickly. My wife likes the wood grain interior finish so we spend $1600 more than the next closest bid. By the way, as he fills out the paperwork he says he has to list 8-11 weeks to install because the office insists on it. Don't worry though. He will push it through.
Two weeks later we get a call. Seems the manufacturer started production on the windows but the hardware color we ordered has a defect and they have discontinued it. We change the color. I ask about the install date. The office tells me they will have the sales guy call. He calls, tells me the windows are in production, then says that they noticed the hardware issue and stopped work so they could resolve it. I questioned him on the install date. I reminded him about his promise. He says that due to the hardware issue it will probably be closer to 11 weeks but they will be able to install by that date. That's the first week of October. He also tells me that he made a significant mistake on the pricing, that the windows should have been a lot more expensive, that they are taking a loss on them, and that he is doing the work for free. They were already $1600 more than the high end[redacted] window???? The credibility is dropping. Today, 8-15-16 the office calls me. They said that they are ready to place the order and ask if I have any other questions. Ready to place the order, I ask? I tell them what the sales person told me. I asked about the install date. They tell me it will be 6 to 8 weeks from the time they place the order until they receive the windows and another 2 weeks to install. When is that? 10 more weeks is the end of October or early November.
It will be interesting to see what happens next. They have a good reputation but at this point I am pretty disappointed. Here is a photo of my family room All ready for windows. HMMMMMM

In November we had a house fire and decided to replace all of the windows because they were over 40 years old. We visited the Winter Park showroom and replacement salesman, Stuart E[redacted], answered some of our questions but was not overly helpful. He asked us to send measurements of all window openings so he could give us an estimate. We sent measurements the very next day and have never received a reply. I called once and resent the measurements and have not heard a word from FAS in the 2 months since then.
We ended up using [redacted] and replaced all of our windows, spending over $45,000 with [redacted]. Too bad that FAS doesn't have better customer service. Big loss for them.

The sales person provided the highest quote and refused to negotiate. Despite this we went with them based on the great reviews.

They estimated 4-6 weeks until they could install them but it took 10 weeks even though I accepted their earliest available appointments.

After installation they refused to honor the payment terms they had provided in writing because they were on a separate document from the contract. The sales person then tried hard to pitch me on the fact that he never offered those terms, despite the fact that I had them from him in writing in an email.

The work they did was acceptable. I have no major complaints about the final product. The path to get there was long and now I feel cheated. FAS is not worth the 5-star premium they charge.

Positive to read!!! I coach locally in the Avalon community. I'm involved with 6th - 12th graders and through them I know many parents personally. I would randomly ask them about window companies to recommend. During my research as to who would do our windows we came up with FAS having more good comments than other competitors. We had 5 companies come through. Four of thier prices were very comparable but the sales persons were somewhat detailed with their product. We asked more questions to them than with Gary from FAS. Gary was very detailed and personal about the product. Although FAS estimate was a bit higher, as we were aware by others, they were more recommended than the others. So, 23 windows on 2 floors were removed and replace by FAS! Here is the key satisfaction to the price and "install". Four men came to do the work and they performed as a team. They each paid very close attention to the clean up process of broken glass inside and outside when removing the crap single pane windows that were glazed in each frame. Also, because we had shutters on all of windows inside and a screen enclosure which made the install very difficult especially on the 2nd floor, Scott, Martin and both Mikes were very challenged and did a "fantastic job" without flaw and rework!!! For the challenges they were faced with, they as a team, problem solved and completed a successful 3 day job. The day after their completion there was a hard rain and wind. With the proper detail to weather proofing by all for fantastic installers there were no leaks!!! Starting with Gary, CJ, the Double Decker team of Scott, Martin and both Mikes and Dara B[redacted] of customer service were the sellers. To ALL who read this, "money well spent" !
