March 11, 2016In response to the above mentioned complaint, The Optical Center never guarantees payment by any insurance companyOur staff can only verify eligibility and relay the information we receive from the insurance to the insuredWe always strongly recommend that patients call their insurances company on their own so they may fully understand their benefitsDetermination of payment for services rendered can only be made by the insurance company after the claim for service is received and processedIt sounds as if [redacted] is more dissatisfied with her insurance companies lack of payment on her claim then with our staff and the service she receivedWe strongly recommend [redacted] contact her insurance company if she feels that this claim should have been paid by them.Sincerely, Patrick SPractice Manager

May 30, This letter is in response to the above mentioned compliant ID.*** *** *** was in our facility to order a set of prescription eye glassesThe glasses were filled to the RX given by DrBeth Berlin and met the prescribed RX exactly***
*** was charged a total of $168.40, which is the amount designated by her insurance company as her responsibility*** *** sought a second opinion of a different doctor outside of our practice and this doctor prescribed a different RX, since *** *** had exhausted her benefits we filled the new RX at no additional charge.If *** *** is upset at the original co pay amounts that her insurance require we collect we Strongly recommend that she contacts her insurance companyIf she feels that the doctor that prescribed the original glasses was negligent in her prescribing she needs to contact the appropriate boardI will say that it is nit uncommon for Optometrists to have differences of opinion, especially in refractive test as the tests are subjective and depend on the patient to answer truthfully to questions asked by the practitioner
